And so she set upon the laborous task of drawing a bath. Huuuuuuge bath. We'll post this here briefly since I don't see any stickies titled "Bathes" up. =D Placing multiple herbs such as yarrow, her favorite, thyme, sage, rosepetals, lavender, chamomile, and other such things, she carefully stepped into the delightfully hot water, sinking in... Despite the rather painful stinging sensation over her multiple scabs and nearly-healed wounds. The years out adventuring really had taken a toll on her; while she had been able to avoid most of the scars that battle offered her with the healing spring water, she had a few that weren't as fortunate. She picked away the debris and such that were in her scratches on her arms and side; while she didn't like it, it had to be done, besides, the slice above her hip was nearly healed now. Granted, it hurt like childbirth to stretch certain ways, but she was usually able to avoid it. She cleaned away all the dirt; amazingly, her skintone went from brown-black smudged to a slightly tanned paleness, and all the stench that she really, really reeked of was also washed away. Her hair benefitted from it as well; she was able to untangled the matted mess and found the oils she couldn't wash away before had softened her hair. All the debris such as pine needles that had found a home in the knots were also released, much to her relief. After she was done soaking for a bit, she took the poutices she had prepares, applying them to her arms where Nufeniel scratched and the rest as a facial. "This is a luxury I've seldom been able to afford..." she purred to herself, allowing the herbs to repair her skin. Pleased wasn't the word for it. She dried herself off, re-wrapping her wounds or scabs with bandages; she knew how much it hurt when clothing stuck and tore some of the dead skin off. Oh, she knew that allll too well. As she looked around her room, a flooding sense of nostalgia overtook her... She shook her head with a smile. She was hardly used to any of this. Going through the clothes she had left behind before, her newfound warrior side could hardly believe she wore any of it. While familiar, they were utterly....feminine. She scratched her head, trying to make up her mind. She noticed a few of the more.... suggestive dresses with a stifled laugh, remembering quite vividly the times she had stunned Legolas with such apparel. No, this time she decided to surprise him with a pale pink and silver velvet dress that emphasized her curves and the fitness she had achieved adventuring. The nice thing about the long sleeves and optimum coverage was that it disguised and hid any scars or bandages she didn't want noticed. Giving a kitten hiding beneath the bed a pat on the head, she exited, returning to where Legolas was to continue looking after him.

"It's been a while since I've been in here..." Sallia mused, "and even longer since I've been in here with you. I hope you don't mind the change of pace, meleth nin?" she asked innocently, changing into a long, pale nightgown before yawning and stretching. "I'm allowing you to sleep here, but you'd better not hog the covers!" She laughed mischieviously with a wink, teasing him. "If that's the case, well, I'll be sleeping on the floor." Smirk.
The floor wasn't a bad place to sleep in the least. So it got a bit cold every now and again, so what? She was used to it. Three years in the wilderness would do that to you. She glanced out to the balcony again... No! No! Don't think about it, Legolas is here. Focus on Legolas. It was really like a lose-lose situation, mentally. While she was wandering the continent she couldn't stop thinking of him, and now that she had him, she couldn't get her mind off traveling. She crawled into bed and snuggled up to him, resting her head on his chest, one arm draped over his torso. "It's been good to see you again, even if you were sick for most of the time thus far.... I didn't mind. Your presence was all I've wanted for these many years."

Legolas, though rather embarrassed by the entire scene of Sallia carrying him, let her have her fun. At least he did not have any boots she could steal. When Sallia set him on the bed, the blond Elf stood and went about making a fire in the hearth as his wife dressed for bed. None of Legolas' clothes were actually in the room, so he had to settle for what he had been wearing.

Legolas slipped into bed not long later, the hearth roaring with a warm and lovely fire. Sallia laid down next to him, her head on his chest and one arm drapped over his torso. The prince closed his eyes, sighing in contentment. "Long have I waited for this moment." he whispered with a smile. His left hand held onto Sallia's hand that was drapped across him. His right, played lightly with the ends of the woman's hair as he held her close.

Looking to the open curtains, Legolas could see the stars shinning brightly in the night sky. The storm clouds had departed, and with them, the current threat. With Nufeniel in their hands, Melkor would be silent for a while... though bidding her strength. Such things weighed upon the prince's mind constantly, but the one thing that pressed it's way through such fears and musings... was Sallia. Pointing to the window, Legolas smiled. "I believe that stars are shinning for you, meleth nin... For you and your return here. I have not seen them so bright in many a long night."

Legolas sighed, looking at the strands of Sallia's hair that were entwined with his fingers. "You have been gone for quite a while, meleth nin... Iwas wondering... When... when we parted last, you were with child. I fear asking such a question but, what ever became of the child?"

As the prince waited for Sallia's answer, he focused his eyes on the crackling fire, letting it's warmth and light calm his racing heart.

Sallia yawned quietly. This was a tender, tender subject. "When our son was born... Yes, he's a boy... I sent him with Xarik'n back to the Tree Mother, so while I was away, he could be educated and taught an appreciation for those things. He's safe there... The place is like Lothlorien. He's still very young... I was planning on returning with him once I completed my journey. The priests there have nicknamed him Vala... He's going to look a lot like you." She chuckled. "Bright eyes like my mother. Fascinated with nature and larges cats...." She closed her eyes. "Very intelligent for such a young age...." She glanced over at him. "I would have sent him here, but I feared for his safety... Not that I don't trust you, or the guards here, but with Nufeniel and such..." She chuckled. She tapped on her lip, thinking. "If my intuition doesn't fail me, I should be able to go to the Ash Mountains and find the staff, or whatever....It would take me about 3 days perhaps, if Xarik'n aides me. It would take a minute for him to teleport me back here. From here, I could borrow a horse, have Xarik'n teleport me to a little ways outside Hobbiton, ride through, and make my way to the Blue Mountains...." She frowned. "It would take a month at least.... But if I keep Xarik'n with me, teleport to about 3 miles outside the mountains... It all depends on how...dependable he is. If he just up and disappears, Vala and I shall be returning in roughly two to three weeks. If Xarik'n aids me, it will be cut to one at most, more like....5 days." She glanced over at him. "Do you know anything about either of those areas, meleth nin?"

Legolas shook his head, "No actually... I have never been to those places before... I mean, I have been to Bree, but that is as far as I have ever traveled." the prince answered, "And, as much as I would hate to see you go, I just... I can hardly wait to see him." Legolas said, a smile of joy on his features. "Vala... He certainly is a gift from the Valar. Ai! If Xarik'n does not help you, I will never give him another sweet again!"

Xarik'n blinked a few times. "Damn you!!!!"
Sallia yelped with surprise, jumping, and Xarik'n laughed mischieviously. "Oops... Don't worry. I'll take you. You might want to do some research on those places, though, Sally. The Ash Mountains are reaaaaaaaaaalllly close to Mordor...---- Would you like me to pick up your son first?" Sallia's eyes sparkled. "I could always pick him up first... Bring him back here..." She glanced over at Legolas with a tiny smile, eyes asking the question before her lips even moved. "Would it be ok?? Please??" Xarik'n also wagged his finger at her. "You also should know that your traveling, little one, has been seriously draining my magick. You're going to HAVE to travel by foot a few times. I have higher-ups expecting...stuff from me, and what would happen to me if I didn't even have enough energy left to arrive on time? Very, verrrrrrrry bad." Sallia nodded. "That's ok, I understand. How long does the traveling look?" Xarik'n pulled out a map from nowhere, the long parchment hanging in midair. "Well, according to my estimations... If you pick up Vala, you could drop off what stuff you have. That would be nice, you could travel much lighter---not that you have a problem. Don't hit me. You could make it to the Ash Mountains in two days with my help from there, and like you said it would take at least three to find the artifact in the Ash Mountains---that's not counting enemies you run into. From there, I could teleport you back to here, you could rest a day, and then we'd teleport to Hobbiton. We would travel a day and then teleport again to the outskirts of the Blue Mountains, find the Tree Mother, and complete the quest. Sound good?" Sallia again looked to her husband. "Sound okay to you?" Xarik'n smiled. "I'll need a few days to save up my energy though. You have a good..oh....5 days or so? And after that, I will require 3 pounds of chocolate, 36 pastries, 33 cakes, 15 muffins, 333 large chocolate truffles, and 30 barrels of wine as well as spiced cocoa." Sallia winced. "What? I'll need to gain my energy again SOMEHOW. Unless you'd rather travel with Little Xarik'n, who can only teleport you around 15 miles at a time. It's a long way to the Ash Mountains, dear." Sallia paused. "Off topic, but, why were you in my room?" Xarik'n laughed. "A secret. So, what'll it be? Three weeks to a month, or one week to two?"

Legolas nodded, "You will have all the sweets you require and more, Xarik'n. You have my word on that." the prince was actually giddy inside now, the anticipation of actually meeting his son was going to be getting the better of him, he knew. "How old is he, Sallia?" Legolas suddenly asked, having forgotten to before, "I mean, when was he born? Valar! I do not think I am really ready to be a father!" he sighed, "No wait, first things first, meleth. You will be gone for how long? I... AI! I wish I could go with you... but I... well... Perhaps Legede and my father can handle things in my absence..." the prince mused, wondering how Thranduil would react to the news that he was now, confirmed, a grandfather.

Sallia was actually becoming giddy as well. "Oh, no, no, no! We shouldn't tell Thranduil yet!!! I want to surprise him!!! Can you imagine the look on his face???" ^__^ She pounced him and laughed. "Vala would shout, 'Granpa!', and he would be so confused..." She snuggled him. "Vala is almost 3 years old. I had him 3 months after I left. He knows plenty about you..." She chuckled, and Xarik'n offered an impish grin. She rolled off of him, and onto her back, hugging her knees. "As for being away... If we brought Vala back first, it would be three to four weeks, at worst. It just depends on whether or not I run into any trouble..." "Ha!" Xarik'n laughed with scorn and sarcasm. "Oh, you certainly don't run into trouble say like EVERY DAY?" Sallia wrinkled her nose and stuck out her tongue at him. "Hey, it wasn't MY fault that those people needed help! If he or she was a villain, they had to be taken out somehow!" Xarik'n shook his head. "It'll take 3 weeks and 5 days, and those 5 days are allocated for the time you spend fighting. You, not run into any trouble...Feh!" he scoffed. "That's like me saying that I don't keep secrets every day---- Not that I do." His eyes shifted rapidly. "Um, anyhow... " Sallia shook her head softly. "Legolas, you should be attending to your people, especially after what just happened. As much as I love you, I will not have you shirk your abilities. I do that enough for the both of us." She was a bit hard on herself sometimes, this was one of them. Wanderlust. She should have just finished what she intended to do instead of getting sidetracked, no matter how grateful she was to see him again. "You take care of your people, and I will take care in seeing to this." But Xarik'n's expressions seemed to say something else... Actually....Was he mouthing, "I'll take you if you give me more chocolate" ...? Xarik'n focused intently on Legolas, floating far behind so that Sallia's back was to him. Waving his arms around like a madman at first to get his attention, he then pointed to her and to him. "More sweets, I will totally help you follow her!!" he tried to mouth, suddenly becoming still and impatient looking when she turned around to look at him. **If you worry for her safety, for a price, I WILL aid you. If you want to follow her so badly, say so.** he thought at him, a mental smirk accenting the message. Sallia frowned. "You've been awfully quiet." Xarik'n shrugged. "Don't want to interrupt lovers, especially of your status." "You just did." Xarik'n laughed nervously. "So, how about Vala, eh?? Would you like to see a picture?"

"Xarik'n, you never told me you could paint." Legolas said, speaking of the picture but also giving a nod the demon in the process. He made it seem like a yes to the picture, when in reality, it was a yes to his proposal to follow Sallia. "Unless of course..." the prince continued, "You painted a picture of him, meleth nin. I just never would think of Xar as the creative type." Legolas joked. "But yes, I would and yes, I should see about my people in the morning and look to their safety. However, if we can put an end to Nufeniel's terror, we may be safe for a time."

Sallia blinked back at Xarik'n. "Well, it's LIKE a painting, but more...real..." Xarik'n tried to explain, but realizing that showing would do better than he could, he waved his hand, a mirror appearing before them. Within a few seconds, images began to form, and a very young, blond-haired boy was running around while monks tried to tend to him. "He has Sallia's hyperactivity and short attention span, as you can clearly see." Xarik'n joked, but he wasn't too far from the truth. He appeared to be a good student as far as children his age could be, and was very kind to the numerous animals that roamed the area, especially the large black cats. Sallia smiled, failing to hold back her pride. "Ah, my little Vala, he's such a sweet boy..." And he was. He was clearly very affectionate and adorable, even to the monks, and he found bugs interesting. The panthers treated him gently as if he were a cub, and the other young children got along well with him. Xarik'n nodded, as if agreeing with her, but it would be clear to Legolas that he had sealed the agreement. "I'm tired..." Sallia yawned, stretching. "I'm going to sleep... Goodnight Xarik'n, and love you sweetheart." She kissed Legolas briefly before nodding off. Xarik'n chuckled and smiled. "Watch out. She kicks. Your son will make a fine warrior someday... If you need any help, just let me know." He phased out, but popped back in really quick. "Oh, actually, wake her up. She's needed in the Healing Wing." ~~~~~~~ Sallia didn't relish waking up so soon, but exited without a word or even changing, headed towards the Healing Wing.

Legolas said nothing as Sallia left, knowing she would return with time. While she was gone, he stood, walking over to the balcony doors and pushing them open. A cold breeze whipped his hair out behind him, but he paid it no mind. The prince smiled as he leaned against the railing. He had a son... an adorable son at that who, in the archer's perspective, looked almost like his sister at that age. "Vala..." Legolas whispered, smiling as he said it, "These years of solitude and grief... they were well worth it for this." The silence of the eve however, brought back painful longings to Legolas. He could always hear the call of the sea, but on this night, he had something more important to think of. He was not just a prince or a warrior or a leader or a king, a son or a friend or a brother or a husband. He was a father. And he would follow Sallia to the ends of the earth if he had too.

Shanra entered Sallia's room, glancing to Legolas, Xarik'n, and the image of Vala. "Awww. Cute kid. Hey, you two might want to come to the Healing Wing. Legolas!!! You can hear me out there, I hope? Great. Xarik'n, could you get Sario as well??? Great. Legolas, come with me." Xarik'n disappeared into the walls, while Shanra escorted the prince back to the Healing Wing.

As Legolas stepped in, he gently laid his wife in her bed, covering her up to her chin with the comforter. He smiled, sitting on the edge of the bed for a moment as he moved a stray strand of hair from the woman's face. Life seemed nearly back to normal... Legolas yawned then, remembering he was quite tired, but also knowing that he should check on Aragorn again.

Sallia drifted into a deep, dream-filled sleep, stretched out underneath her covers. She twitched now and again, but that was the only thing to betray what she was dreaming. It seemed as if she were wanting to run, and that things were very vivid, but the occurences seldom happened. The pillow beside her looked warm and inviting. Of course, she wouldn't mind what option Legolas followed. She was too far gone to really care at that point. Waking up would be a different matter.
