Another soft billowing cloud gently eased it way across the open sky, however its luscious beauty of gently grace was lost to the mare whose earnest ears were perked for some hope of a babbling broke that edged the small forest near the foot of the mountains. True, though mainly to the girl’s family, that the mind behind the soft brown eyed mare still refused to accept the reality of her situation, she was terrible with direction and currently she had gotten herself lost in the midst of trying to prove to her older brothers that she finally knew what she was doing. Of course she didn’t realize that all of this had been nothing more than a silly prank that they had more than earnestly waited until now to play upon her since father had left them to their own design.
“This….. this bites!” Cerys exclaimed her temper starting to edge, she had been looking for hours and when she finally decided to give up the search and swallow her pride and go home, she couldn’t remember what direction she had come from. Everything to her look the same, the tall trees with their various shapes of leaves with their edges unfurling to a new green coat, the small zigzagging paths of barren dirt from various animal travels, even the small glimpse of the peaks of the mountains all looked the same and she couldn’t tell if she was moving closer or further away from them. Sure her father had insisted to teach her how to actually mark trails, how to keep an eye on the surroundings, how not to get lost but she never remembered to do any of it when she took off on her own, traveling to her was far too much of an excitement to take the time to mark a tree or to actually notice important markers.
The mare took a quick glance towards the sky, already the large orb of the sun had started to edge itself towards the peaks of the mountains to nestle into a deep slumber and a frown spread itself across Cery’s face. It wouldn’t be long before darkness would fall, and knowing how long it took for her to travel this far there she would never be back to the safe haven of her family before it breeched her fears. She would be stuck spending the night here! Closing her eyes tightly she shook the small tuff of mane, NO! she couldn’t give up she had to get home and soon.

He had finished by midday. Completely exhausted from the previous days and today caused Lex to cut short his plan and rest. Take a long rest so that he could go longer tomorrow. Lex was considering to bypass the mountains, instead heading through this small forest and beyond it to the grasslands. He would continue his search there and then finally head towards the mountains, but at a different point.
It wasn't as though Lex was afraid of the mountains, he felt a pull to the grasslands. Maybe it was a premonition, doubtful, or perhaps he had picked up a familiar scent. Whatever it was, Lex would go to the grasslands first and then head up to the mountains at a later time. So long as he explored it all eventually, Lex thought it didn't matter what area of land he completed first.
Having rested enough, Lex decided to take a walk through the small forest. As he did so, he felt pangs of homesickness occasionally. Having grown up in a forest, Lex always enjoyed spending time in other forests he encountered along the way. But being reminded of home made Lex realize how much he missed his family. Dad, Taigi and Nikolai. It had been a long time. If only his quest was complete, than he could go home. But he had to finish what he started. Well, he wanted to at least.
It was growing late, the dark would come shortly. Lex knew he should find a place to sleep for the night but he decided against it. Choosing to walk and look around some more. His ears perked up at the slight sounds of someone shouting? Curious, Lex walked in the direction of where the sounds came from.
Up ahead he spotted a mostly dark horse. At the location he was, he couldn't tell whether it was male or female. It looked smaller than Lex thought he was so perhaps it was a mare? But was she doing out here? All alone? Traveling as well?

“Seriously! If this is some trick from them…. I’ll… I’ll…… probably end up doing nothing! It’s not fair, two against one I mean come on what am I suppose to do,” Cerys cried her voice starting to edge with annoyance, she should have known that this whole trip was nothing more than a trap to send her out on her own. Not to mention they probably counted on her not telling anyone else in the family that she was planning to leave meaning no one besides them knew where she could possibly be, which meant not even her father would come looking for her. However, she never expected her two brothers to go this far into allowing her to follow such danger, but she also should have known better, it was like a double edge blade, her pride in trying to prove she was something other than a girl to her brothers, like her aunt was or like her mother had been before.
Argh….. was going to die out in the middle of nowhere! Furiously she shook her head, it wasn’t the best time to be thinking what did live out in the middle of this so called nowhere, things with teeth and claws, things that in the dark pitch night howled with their hungry voices waiting to pounce and sink the white glistening fangs into unsuspecting flesh! She closed her eyes tightly again, she didn’t need to remind herself why her father told her to never stray too far away, why not to travel alone, all of his teachings kept ringing in her ears but never, so why didn’t she ever follow them.
“Alright Cerys, standing here isn’t going to help you find your way home! Now we are going to pick a direction and start walking and I can hope it leads somewhere.” With her eyes still tightly shut she circled the small space of ground around her, pausing when the dizziness’s started to set in she opened her eyes.
She saw that she was no longer alone, and that someone else had been standing there watching her.

He continued to watch her. She clearly seemed upset, going by the outburst anyway. He grew closer, pausing by some trees. Lex didn't want to go too close, in case she turned on him and lashed out. She didn't seem dangerous but you never could tell. Lex knew not to judge someone by their appearance alone, for all he knew this mare could be a killer. Okay, completely doubtful but again, never know.
So she was lost? Lex continued eavesdropping, becoming more curious with every passing second. Since she mentioned her home it sounded to Lex like she was lost but he may of misheard. He wasn't too close to her so it was a possibility that he missed something she said. When she faced him, he grinned, sheepishly. Oops, he was found out. What to do, what to do. It was probably obvious he was listening to her and he had been looking over at her for a while now. Darn his curiosity. Sometimes it was good and sometimes it got him into trouble. Hopefully it was the former this time.
"Hey there." He greeted her with another grin. "You live here?" If she was lost, Lex felt it was her choice to admit to it or not.
Admittedly, Lex disliked getting lost and getting told he was so far off from where he actually should be. It was quite embarrassing and though Lex would laugh it off, it still wasn't fun. But it was okay when he admitted right away he was lost, strangely enough. Lex supposed it had to do with being able to do things and doing them well. Being the best at them even. He liked traveling but he also liked being known as someone great at directions as well as knowing about so many different places.

A brilliant blood red blush started to soak its way across her face as her deepen autumn eyes froze on the darken stallion that spoke to her. She had been foolish to let her guard down, even worse she had no idea how long he had been standing there leaving the unsuspecting feeling that everything she had currently said and done was probably heard, how embarrassing her voice cried inside of the shell of a mind she bore. Sure she had no problem admitting she was lost to herself but to outwardly say it to a stranger was another story not to mention it left an unsuspecting advantage to whoever it was knowing that she was alone and that she utterly had no idea where she was, for all of her luck he could kill her and leave her there and no one would ever know about it, than again that would leave her having the advantage of haunting her brothers for the rest of her life for doing what they did to her.
“Ummm…. Hello….” She replied shaking her head trying to free her frozen limbs from the utter shock she had received, “… sort of well I sort of live around here. Somewhere…” Cerys squeezed a small smile on her face; at least he so far seemed pleasant but even those with beast like teeth could give a grin. She let her gaze fall to the ground as she shuffled her feet as a small voice echoed in the darker depths of her mind, he could help you know, we’ll probably, in getting back home, probably, and she knew that as it stood it would be hours for her to get home on her own, even worse she would be even less likely to head home as soon as the dark veil of night covered the sky. Shaking her head and giving a quick glance to the falling sun she turned her attention back to the stallion.
“Sir….. I know you heard me a few moments ago, and I know you know that well… I’m lost and unfortunately not rather fond of the dark,” her soft brown eyes watching him considerable.
