if you like indie music like i do, you know how hard it is to get music from indie artists. this should help, it lets you download mp3s from myspace. (as well as video from youtube) (idk where else it works)

file2hd.com

EDIT: that site does not work on myspace anymore. you can still take videos from youtube though. they also added a feature that converts the video to a mp3 file.

Is there something good that won't give viruses that works for Apple and my iPod?

i found this thing called free music zilla that rips music from most places of the internet. all you have to do is have it open and it will allow you to download media from any page that has music or videos. (besides myspace)

sadly the new myspace music format is too complex for any piating system i've seen.(then again i dot know a lot about this type of stuff)

When it comes to downloads, I like to just search the blogs. Just download WinRAR on your computer (a free trial version is available, but there are cracked versions out there as well), then just search for downloads of a given album on Google blog search, and you'll usually find a bunch of blogs with download links. They're usually through Mediafire, Megaupload, or Rapidshare, so the albums will be in RAR or ZIP format. Just open the files with WinRAR and you'll be sitting pretty. You can import the tracks onto iTunes or whatever.

I will say, though I download music on a fairly regular basis, there's nothing quite like having a tangible copy of a great album on CD or record.

I didn't say you're obligated to own a hard copy of every album, it's just something I happen to like.

Yeah, that's what the library is for.
