I've been wondering this for a while now. What if it actually happened? What if The Dark Lord defeated the Belmont clan?
I'm sure that a lot of you have been wondering this but just didn't wanna think about it.

Another family or clan would arise to challenge Dracula. In several games, it mentioned that the Belmonts are just one of many who fight the undead. While they are the only known repetitive killers of Dracula, others have taken him down.
See: Hector. Dracula was briefly brought back to life and Hector killed him yet again. Soma is also akin to that. He had to defeat Dracula's source power, if not the very soul of Dracula that was housed within him.
Also (I forget where), but its mentioned some vampire hate Dracula, due to his desire to kill all of humanity. IE their food source.
So, in the event the Belmont lineage died out, I doubt Dracula would still remain in power. Others would eventually topple him.
