That would be cool, especially if they could "reproduce" (I mean build a copy of itself from the resources available on a planet and send it out further). That way it would be much faster & cheaper to explore. But on the other hand, if you give robots the ability to multiply, what would happen if they decided to stop listening to us and rebelled?
(the idea about robots multiplying is not in this article, it's from something I have recently read in a science & tech magazine)
