Deku Shrine
Within the Deku's forest residence, there is a small cave opening into a black corridor, with an ominous staircase going down into an abyss. The walls are composed of many stone slabs for support. Foliage covers the entrance, and a deep green moss is covering most of the grey stone. Many legends have formed around this mysterious dungeon. Some Deku mothers claim that they are going to send their children to the Dungeon if they don't behave - this is what they are referring to. Many say there are many great treasures and powerful demons locked up inside the dungeon - but nobody truly knows for sure. When people do go in, it's to retrieve a lost child, or to find a Rupee they accidentally dropped into it. Some brave folk, people from many different races, try and see what's truly down there. However, most come back up running with their tail between their legs.
The Deku King originally covered it with leaves to be hidden away forever, but recently it was opened back up again, and singed leaves cover the area around it. Some say it was just another traveller that used a fire spell, but some say it's something more than that. What really happened...?

Cole landed with a thump onto a bundle of sticks arranged in a circle. Like a nest of sorts. And above him was the gigantic bird that had stolen him from the marketplace and landed him here. " I think I got a splinter in my butt. " Cole stated as he stood up and noticed the bird. " Its sleeping. Time to try and get out of here. " Cole said as he went to the edge of the nest as he perched himself over. He slipped off and fell about twenty to thirty feet before landing on a mass of vines which seemed to be netting for fallen victims. " I guess the bird wants its food in one piece. " Cole stated before looking around and noticing a shine underneath the mass of vines. Cole looked down but really couldn't see anything.

With a quick grab, Max snatched Pum while he wasn't paying attention and held him in front of him, lighting the halls a little bit. "Pum, you've been volunteered as our lantern. Now be a good lantern and shut up. He smiled, walking forward into the room down the stairs.
The first room was quite large. There were four torches on each corner, dimly lighting the room with their crackling lights. There were three dors on each side of the room - The one on the left and the one straight ahead were locked, but the one on the right seemed to be unlocked. "Well, right is right, right?" Max joked nervously as he opened the door.
Inside of the door was three large flowers, lying silent and dormant around the room. "Flowers? They can't be just any old flower. They couldn't survive without sunlight..." Max said wearily, slowly approaching one of the strange plants. Suddenly, one of the plants jumped up, and opened its flower, baring sharp teeth. "Deku babas! Watch out!" Max sliced the thin stem-throat of one of the creatures, dividing it in two. The small blue flower quickly withered and died, leaving just a small pile of weeds where it once stood. "Justin, take care of those other two?"

Justin reached behind him and grabbed his sword, slowly pulling it out of it's sheathe. "Sure, I can take them" He walked forward, without hesitation. One of the two babas remaining sprang up and flew towards Justin. Quickly, he swung his sword horizontally slicing the demonic flower in half. As soon as the first flower fell, the second baba attacked from the back side trying to knock Justin off guard. Using pure instinct, he turned and knocked the baba's head with his shield. While it was dizzy and distracted, Justin lunged forward and sliced the baba's head down the middle, it fell to the ground and disintegrated.
He laughed, "I've always hated those damn Dekubabas" He pushed his sword back into it's sheathe and looked around.
"so..." He turned to Max, "Where do we go now?"

Just as all of the Deku Babas were destroyed, faint, glowing lights appeared from each of the plants' corpses, and then joined together in the center of ther room. They materialized, and formed the shape of a chest, which then solidified. "I don't think I'll ever get used to that..." Max laughed, walking towards the chest. He kneeled down and flipped it open, revealing a small, silver key. "Well, we can open one of those doors now." Max flipped the key in midair, examining it, then motioned the group into the door again into the main room.
Now, there was the room on the left and northward again to be unlocked. "I think we should take the northern path. I've got a good feeling about it." As they walked, though, Max spotted a piece of paper on the floor near the path to the north. He opened it up, and grinned. "Looks like map. Awesome." He said, putting it in his pocket as he reached for his key. He put the key in the keyhole and opened the door to the next room.
When they walked in, however, the door slammed behind them, and cast iron bars sealed the exit. "Damn!" Max cursed as he turned around to slam on the iron bars. "They're locked tight." He sighed. Suddenly, a dark figure jumped down from the ceiling and chuckled darkly. Max turned around to see a skeleton warrior - not at all like the Stalchildren of before. It was armored with a gladius, helmet, and a round shield. It put up its shield and started towards Justin. "Watch out!"

Pum with his tiny bit of insight on everything jumped around frantically. "Hey! That's a Stalfos! You gotta be patient with these guys. They're really smart, and really tough. They'll hold up that shield forever, until you give them a chance to..." The Stalfos then leaped forward a few feet towards Justin, sword raised. "Strike." He said as he quickly flew away from the scene, up towards the ceiling to get a safe distance.

Justin quickly rolled out of harm's way, the stalfo could have easily killed him right there. Once the stalfo landed, it turned toward Justin with it's shield raised waiting for an opportunity to attack, but not allowing Justin his own opportunity.
jeez, he is pretty smart Justin thought, staring into the empty eyes of the skeletal figure. Hoping that Max would get the hint to attack

"Justin, think about it. There's two of us, and only one shield. Stay on opposite sides." Max cautioned, raising his Gilded Sword up, preparing to strike. But at the last second, the Stalfos turned around and struck Max's sword to the side, throwing him off balance again. "Damn. Too bad Cole wasn't here..." Max said, raising up his sword again.
"Justin, you have the shield, right? Keep up your guard, and I'll wait for the right moment." Max nodded and stepped back quickly, and reached for his Longsword as well, unsheathing it and holding his swords in a dual-blade stance.

Cole sat there in the vines as he looked at the glow beneath him. " Damn. I wish I could get down there. " Cole stated as he sighed. " Is anyone up there? " A voice yelled from beneath the vines. Cole tried squirming around in the vines but it was no use. " Yeah. I'm Cole of the Kokiri. And I was kind of abducted by the giant bird brain up there. " Cole said as he yelled back down to the voice. " Oh thats great. My name is Prince Capoi. Of the Deku Kingdom. The bird didn't capture me. " The prince stated as he paced around. " Then why are you here? "
The Prince sighed as he yelled up to Cole. " Well there is a rite of passage in the Deku Royal Family. They say we must go into this Dungeon and retrieve what they call The Crown of the Deku Heirs. Now down here I found the Crown. But I really can't get out of here. Its kind of dark and I really can't manuever down here. " The prince stated as they both sighed. " That makes two of us. "

"Yeah, I know what to do Max" He rolled his eyes, it's not like he hasn't fought things like this before, plus it's just common sense.
Justin raised his shield again, twirling his sword in the other hand, preparing for another attack from the Stalfos. Distracting it was tough, the wrong move and the skeleton will strike, you have to be on your guard at all times while fighting these things. He glanced at Max, making sure that he was focused. As soon as Justin's eyes drifted off toward Max, the warrior attacked, he jumped up with sword coming down to the ground quickly. Justin back flipped, trying to keep away from the blade.
The Stalfos hit the ground with a loud 'Thump!!' and was vulnerable, weapon and shield down on the ground. Justin took the opportunity and jumped up, sword in hand and jabbed the creature through the skull, right through where the living eye would've been.
In response to this, the skeleton flailed and shook it's head wildly, trying to get Justin off of it.

"Akward, but okay." Max gave an indifferent look, then brought both of his swords into a scissor-like shape, and focused them around the vertabrae in the neck of the undead warrior. He brought them together as fast and as hard as he could, and thankfully, it was enough. The head snapped off, and the body went limp. It then evaporated into a quick, purple flame.
"Well, that was annoying..." Max sighed, sheathing his Longsword again. A small tingling noise echoed through the empty room, and a small treasure chest appeared. Max ran over to pop it open, and inside was another key. "Well, uh, great." Max sighed. Then, Max looked again at the chest to close it, when he saw two Red Rupees inside of it. "Nice. Here, take one." Max said, tossing Justin the 20 Rupees, and putting the other away. "Let's go to that other room."
As they treaded back to the main room, they approached the locked door, inserted the key, and walked into the next room. This room had four corners, and in each of those corners was a blue flower, like before. "No, no, no, to Hell with that. We're leaving." Max snorted. But then he looked around, and realized there was no exit. "Craaaaap." He sighed, looking around the room. Four Deku Babas in the corner, the door to the main room behind them, and a giant crack in the wall. "Ooh, lookit that. Justin, you want to play demolition today?" He grinned devilishly.

"You're a psycho" He said, taking the small bomb bag from his belt. He approached the crack in the wall with caution, he did not want to disturb the dekubabas around them. Slowlly, he reached into the bag and lit a bomb, he placed it by the crack and stepped back. The sizzling of the string burning, getting closer and closer to the base of the bomb was ear piercing, but not quite as much as the actual explosion.
BOOM!!
The wall blew open, and a giant hole was made in the wall, leading into the next room of the dungeon. "That was awesome" Justin hooked the bomb bag back onto his belt and stepped into the next room.
This room was dimly lit, and quite humid... thus, not much different than the entire dungeon. Justin looked back and noticed Max still in the previous room. "Come on" he said, motioning Max in.

Max slowly walked in, avoiding the Deku Babas. They were easy to kill, but why run the risk of being killed by a little plant, anyway? Especially something called a "Deku Baba". That'd be pathetic, Max thought to himself as he walked through the makeshift door Justin just created.
As soon as he walked in, the first thing he saw was a giant bird's nest. "Well, uh, that's interesting..." Max sighed, slightly confused. "What would a bird be doing in a..." Before he finished his sentence, he realized why he ventured down into this creepy craphole in the first place. "Cole!" He near-shouted, jumping into the nest, pulling apart handfuls of sticks, leaves, and other debris that made up the nest. "Damn!" He said, throwing whatever he had in his hands down into the abyss below. Then he looked over the side of the nest, and saw that there was a web of vines below. "Whoa..." He said curiously, tilting his head to try to see past some vines. He saw a small dot of light at the bottom of the chasm, but nothing else. "You think they took Cole here?" Max turned to Justin with a slightly worried look on his face. "Neither of them are here. what does that mean for Cole...?"

"I'm sure he'll turn up" Justin jumped into the nest next to Max. He looked down into the abyss, and saw the vines and a mysterious light even further below. "Maybe he's down there in the vines" He said, pondering the idea and imagining the scenario in his mind. "He was probably dropped off by the bird, woke up and stumbled out of the nest into the vines below" he nodded, it seemed like the most probable explanation.
"Or, of course he could have never made it to the nest and was eaten by the bird" He said with sarcasm, laughing. He then realized that what he said could very well be true and stopped laughing, and tried to break the silence. "Erm... well... what do you propose we do?"

Cole heard his name being shouted and it sounded like Max. He kind of liked Max yelling his name. But anywho... Cole squirmed around and was on his back looking up at the giant bird's nest. " Max! Is that you? " Cole yelled up to him. " I was dropped off in the nest, woke up, and stumbled down here into these vines. " Cole said as he reiterated what Justin just said.
" Are those your friends? " The Prince said as he started to get optomistic. " Yeah. We'll get out of here soon. " Cole said as he smiled hoping that his friends will get him out.
