Okay, SOMEONE had to post about it. The name that makes us all shiver with hate and annoyance. Most people are getting like..50 a day and it's retarded. x.x any ideas on what gaia could do about it?

I don't know why, but they've been rather quiet as of late to me. Although I got about three the other day, that was about it. confused

I logged in today and they put a disclaimer at the bottom of their PM saying Quote: Tired of these PMs? We recognise that we are spamming both a) members already registered on our site and b) Gaians who have received countless PMs and simply don't want to join. It isn't our aim to annoy you. If you no longer want to receive these PMs simply enter your username (NOT PASSWORD) in the URL below. Again, just enter your username! *** - Stop receiving these PMs. ...I think it's easier, and probably safer to just set your PMs to friends only. I have no idea if that link above works or whether it's just another way to scam you out of an account. Oh, it also might be worth mentioning that this is Chaos Blue. I'm on my mule because apparently, somebody's been trying to get into my account, and I need to wait 15 minutes before trying again. I'm not entirely sure if this ties in with the spamming, but I wouldn't be surprised.

I hear they got the site banned at one point and that's why they shut up for some time, but someone brought it back...or something like that.
They could always get the site banned again. I read a thread last night (in SF I think?) that showed you how to report the site to the host. However, I highly doubt Gaia's gonna do anything about it any time soon, 'cause you know, they're a bit busy releasing RIGs and refusing to compromise/listen to their users 'cause they're too afraid of losing money. ninja
Edit: I don't trust that whitelist. If people start getting hacked as a result of it, we all know who to blame. "On a website that supports hacking and cheating the whitelist is legit!" Anyone else see the contradiction. ninja

No wonder NK decided to all but quit.. >.> However, I'd be more than happy that Gaia prove me wrong and deal with this in a speedy fashion. <.< Please, Gaia, prove me wrong..

Speedy fashion would've been done about a week or so ago. I don't think they've been able to prove you wrong. confused

I thought it mainly involved stopping the site.

Thing is mods are very focused that we should report the PMs. (Same thread speaking about the whitelist I believe, said, "Shouldn't we focus on reporting the site?" Mods went ahead and said, "Report the PMs before more people get phished/hacked/scammed/whatever the heck this would be called.") Yes, the PMs should be reported, but if we reported the site enough, eventually we wouldn't have to deal with the PMs anyway. If only I cared about Gaia enough these days to actually find that stinkin' thread. X_X

Being in guilds seems to have the advantage here. The bots only target the forums. I'm thinking it isn't every forum that they're hitting, but I'm not sure.
I never reported any of the ones I got. I don't want to help the site out. :/

I've never had one of the PMs. I'm guessing it's because I lurk and post in guilds more than I do in forums.

I think they've all stopped, now, though...I've posted numerous times in the forums. Haven't been getting anything lately. I even set my PMs back to public.
