I think someone out there loves me very much. Castlevania
+ Hideo Kojima + Patrick Stewart = this must be a dream!
It's funny, because a Kojima-done Castlevania was briefly
talked about in the Castlevania Art topic, after clarifying
that I was talking about Ayami Kojima's art, not Hideo
Kojima's games, since he was previously not on a CV team.
To my surprise, it turns out we were having premonitions
of a future Kojima done Castlevania game! You can see the
E3 trailer posted here on Kotaku. And, while you're there...
just look at this picture. Everyone likes touching Kojima.
So, what are everyone's impressions? Piccard Patrick Stewart
as the narrator would have had me sold with or without Hideo
Kojima working on it. (:

I like the idea of a new Castlevania but I am sadly dissapointed to see Alucard was not the protagonist as that old teaser trailer showed. While we may grow to like this new game, we don't know much about it except Piccard is narrating and the main guy looks like a human warlock from World of Warcraft. In fact I was joking with a friend that it looked like a cross between WoW and God of War with the Castlevania title slapped on the box. In fact I hear this was supposed to be a completely different game and later made into Castlevania. I really do hope they work this into the timeline properly. I don't wanna see another retcon of Castlevania games I end up linking like with Circle of the Moon and Legends rofl

Jinzouki, I don't think it will be in the timeline. They said to forget everything you ever knew about Castlevania. It's supposed to be like a reboot or something and they said it would not be connected to any of the other games.

The new trailer looks great though, I hope that it has a gripping story, it is very well cast.
Lets just hope that it is as good as it looks.

@ Jinsouki: I'm not sure if it was originally a completely different
game, or if they just hid the fact that it was Castlevania (with just
the title: Lord of Shadow, which is something that you can't
exactly pinpoint as being CV related) to have a nice E3 surprise.
The fact that Captain Piccard is narrating is ALL I needed to know! o:
I don't actually play WoW, never have and never will (no pay to
play for me, besides the initial cost of the disc, thankyouverymuch)
so I can't say whether he looks like that or not. I'll take your word
for it though.
@ DraculaX: I'd listen to just about anything if he narrated it. Him
and Bruce Campbell have my all time favourite voices, and I'll
watch pretty much anything with either of them in it. I've seen a lot
of terrible movies because of this, but...oh well! xD

I'm really hoping this Castlevania game will be totally awesome. I haven't really enjoyed the past 3 or 4 Castlevania games(I liked OoE a little bit, it was definitely the best DS Castlevania), so I am really hoping this will be good.
The trailer looked good, and the voice acting was awesome. Other than hoping for an enthralling story, I really want some good platforming elements in this. And I want it to be hard too and have a sort of learning curve like the old Castlevania games. All of IGA's games were way too easy.

@ Kenichi: Well, as far as I know, Iga is not involved with
this game at all, so unless Kojima's team (its really weird
having two Kojimas in Castlevania now o.O) decides to
down the difficulty, then that shouldn't be an issue.

Nice to see somebody here still remembers what was said at the art thread about Hideo Kojima and how he could improve the series. I thought that would never happen and it won't if this game turns out to be completely unrelated to CV.
I don't know if it's a good idea to be treating this game as part of the CV saga when pretty much nothing is known about it. I don't even know the name of the hero or if the time this takes place for goodness sakes!
No matter how good the trailer looks (I haven't seen the newest one), things can still go horribly wrong. Not that I'm implying that will happen, I hope not but still...

I honestly wasn't too fussy on the trailer, but then again I
wasn't really paying attention because I was too busy going
off my head because Patrick Stewart was narrating it to me.

I'm looking forward to that game now, but there's one problem... I don't own a 360 nor a PS3. Plus, why forget this to be in the timeline?

the only things i own are a ps2 and psp, will there be a price drop on ps3 this year? i was thinking of asking my dad for one for christmas! 4laugh

I think they meant that "forget everything you knew about Castlevania" as like, the gameplay, and more stories to fill in some gaps between the centuries. I highly doubt its a remake since for Iga, Castlevania is serious business, I don't think he's gonna Batman on us (since none of the Castlevania games can really be considered "horrible" (except Haunted Castle but that itself is an alternate version of Cv1 for Arcade). This game is growing on me, especially after your comment Wayward Star, they could've done it as a surprise, and if that's so....well played konami, you got me good rofl @Yuffie: I hope there's a price drop, Sony's been kind of a d**k about price-dropping the PS3 they've said no price drops (at least for a long time) like Christmas time last year. I could've settled for at least a 50 dollar drop), and Sony's the king of re-selling the same crap in different packaging by upgrading/teaking little things here and there. I mean they made the PS2 smaller, they upgraded the PSP so many times (and still going with the newly announced "PSP Go!"), its about time they thought about re-designing a sleeker PS3 which is cheaper to produce, will cut down on their red triangle of death (though its not as common as M$), and not look like a foreman grill rofl
