Do you think that Tasuki was really, properly in love with Miaka? I do. Yuu Watase said in volume 8 or 9 that she was surprised at how everyone iterpreted Tasuki's feelings for Miaka when he's fighting Tamahome in volume 5. She herself said "He had no romantic feelings for her at that point. I don't know about now, though". The fact that she said "I don't know about now" means that he could have been in love with her at that point (this being about volume 8/9). Also, let's not forget OVA 2 episode 4. Sure, he was under the influence of a spell, but all the spell did was make him act on his deepest, most secret and most unsavoury feelings and thoughts. It took his love for Miaka and need to protect her into wanting to "steal" her from Taka and having her for himself. And as violent as he got, he did vocally express that he wanted her to forget about Taka and that he wanted her to be happy. What do you think about this?

I think Tatsuki was confused because he loves Meika like a sister and Tamahome like a brother. Maybe he was just jealous in a way. I've only seen the anime series and the OVA so... that's just my opinion.
