The Monkey King

To those who don't know, the monkey kings is a classic widely known legend about the Monkey King who was said to be born from the earth and known as the stone monkey. He came across the name, Monkey King because unlike his other monkey peers he was able to enter a cave said to be the way to the heavens. Fearing that someday he would die, the monkey king began a quest where he would eventually learn martial arts and become immortal. He then completed his quest returns home to teach his fellow monkeys what he had learned. Over time he encounters many conflicts and angers many of the gods, who are all too weak to control the Monkey King. With him comes much war and chaos. Eventually the gods call for buddah to help encase the monkey for 500 years. At the end of the 500 years a buddhist monk makes his pilgrimage across China to the heartland of the Buddhist religion (today's India) in order to learn the sutras. Buddha summons the Monkey King to serve as a guide for the Monk. In addition, they are joined by two companions: Pigsy, a frighten pig immortal who must make this journey to repent for his crime of assaulting a fairy, and Sandy, a former sea monster. The Monkey King comes from a book known as Journey to the West and is loosely based on the real journey of Xuan Zang, who lived during the Tang Dynasty, into India to bring back Buddhism scriptures to China.
The story has been a very important part of chinese culture and has even been made into a famous opera which is still preformed today!Table of Contents:

So now i will post a modern day children's book of the monkey king, it is approximately 100 pages long plus the cover etc. When i took the pictures the chinese characters were illegible so i will type them under the pictures. If necessary i will add translations... i probably will...
