"Come on ... just one game?" Yoko cooed. The man in front of her had a deck of cards and was squatting on the dirt road of the village. She leaned foreword ever so slightly, making her already exposed assets even more so as she delicately caressed a single finger along the man's chin.

Inwardly she smirked. This man, in all the pain and joy and confusion he was feeling deserved every motion, every temptation that Yoko could provide him if it meant a game of cards with his deck.

The deck that was well worn, well loved, paled, and bent. This stacked and marked deck was Yoko's annoyance at the moment. She saw this man, take in such a painfully obvious way, the earnings of a child. Yoko may be similar to this man, but she would hardly cheat a child. It disgusted her that he was that low.

"For me?" she batted her eye. She would bleed from this man all he had and return to the child his gold, and she would love doing it.

Chiharu had been wandering around the Rukongai for quite some time when she stumbled upon that man. She had arrived in due time to see him cheat a young child out of his gold. The deck was probably rigged too, what a dirty thing to do for money. She of course had never had to worry about money, and pondered for a moment if she could ever stoop so low were her lifestyle a little different from what it was. She snapped out of her thoughts however, when she saw a girl about her age go towards the man. Surely she had seen his tactics? Why would she want to play him?

All her instincts screamed at Chiharu to just leave and let the girl get conned, but her heart told her to let the girl know. She let out a soft sigh and approached the two. As she neared the two she pretty much understood what really was going on. The other girl didn't want to simply play the man. Oh no. Though the way she went about what she was doing irked Chiharu off a little. She knew that she could just back off of this situation now. Then it dawned upon her. Chiharu was a little too close to the two to be just walking by, and it was evident in her position that that was not the case. That was just great. Now she'd probably questioned about her "eavesdropping".

Yoko noticed the girl for a moment and just as she looked over her shoulder to glare at the trespasser, the man bolted, deck and all.

"Hey wait!" she shouted, but decided it wasn't worth chasing him. She grumbled to herself and turned to the girl and tilted her head, "Ya know, I almost had him, I could have gotten back that kid's money too." She explained.

Chiharu sighed as the man bolted. She should've seen this coming, but there really was no use criyng over spilt milk was there? "Yeah, I realize that now.", she said apologetically. "Besides...", she looked away for a mere second musing the best way to put this before continuing. "I was going to warn you about him, but I realized your intentions a little too late I suppose.", she explained restraining a sigh. It was too bad that the man managed to get away. It was also too bad that she didn't have any money on her either, or she would've loved to give the little boy what the man cheated out of him. But that was life. And life's never fair.

Yoko examined the girl, she was well poised, well mannered, neat and otherwise entirely clean. Sighing Yoko put her hand to her forehead, "No wonder he bolted." she muttered, "He must have seen me a mile away." She turned to the girl, "No offense or anything, in fact this is probably a compliment, but if you could figure out what I was doing then I must have been dead obvious." She let out a laugh, "Man I am out of practice."

Once she contained her laughter, laughter that was aimed at herself, she turned to the woman, "I'm Yoko, Noma Yoko" She held out her hand, a very western gesture but one at home to Yoko who traveled the seas in life.

Chiharu simply nodded at her talk about the man. She probably would've followed instincts and left. It might not have been the best way to go about things, but it was how she would've handled it. While listening as not to interrupt she noticed the other's eye patch for the first time. It wasn't your typical pirate's eye patch, it had intricate designs of what appeared to be floral. As not to stare Chiharu looked back at the other girl and listened to the rest attentively. In all honesty, she was pretty curious as to how the other go her eye patch, but it would be disrespectful to ask, so she refrained from mentioning it.

Once Yoko was finished introducing herself Chiharu took her turn. "I'm Fujiyomi Chiharu. But everyone simply calls me Chiharu.", she stated with a smile on her face. When Yoko's hand came out she couldn't help but stare for a brief moment. She had never shaken hands with others upon introduction unless they were respected friends of her family. Without showing much hesitation Chiharu stretched out her arm as well and shook Yoko's.

Yoko winked her eye "Nice to meet you Chiharu" and gave the girls hand a moderate shake. Removing her hand slowly, Yoko looked around and then grinned, "Normally this is where I ask you to come have a drink with me but you don't seem the drinking type..." Yoko giggled nervously.

Coughing to compose herself, Yoko looked at the girl seriously, "So, that man from earlier? I don't think that this is his first time scamming, and to be honest it is insulting to see such a crappy scam work." She explained bluntly to the girl, "If possible I would like to find and stop him," she continued, "Want to help?"
PostPosted: Sat Jun 06, 2009 10:48 am

"Likewise.", Chiharu replied with a smile. At the mention of the drinks she couldn't help but chuckle lightly. She wasn't one who liked to drink, but once in a while it was fine with her, but luckily, it seemed that Yoko had something else planned to do that wouldn't include the possibilities of getting drunk.

Chiharu agreed as the words came out of her mouth. If he was an inexperienced scammer he probably wouldn't have looked so confident and unashamed to be scamming a mere child. She slowly nodded when asked to help out. She had nothing else to do today and making that man pay for what he did would surely make her day much more rewarding if not a bit more interesting. "I'd be glad to help.", she replied genuinely. She turned around a bit and looked around. As she suspected, the man was no where to be seen. "I believe he went that way.", she stated pointing in to the street that she had just come from.

Yoko nodded, "If nothing else we need to get that stacked and marked deck of cards from him. It will take a while for him to make another." Yoko explained as she looked in the direction the man went, "However we should make up a plan of action before leaping into the situation. He knows me, I'm kinda hard to miss and forget," Yoko chuckled. "However, You look scam-able, no offense, and your looks are fairly typical, again no offense, just compared to me... you are the better choice to approach him." Yoko finished, but she was sure Chiharu may object, being bait wasn't fun but Yoko was not good at being bait, and the man would recognize her. "Are you alright with that?" Yoko offered the out, so that Chiharu wouldn't feel pressured to say 'ok' to being bait.
PostPosted: Sat Jun 06, 2009 7:30 pm

Chiharu let out another light chuckle as Yoko suggested their plan of action. As long as it would teach the man a lesson she didn't really mind being the bait... This time. She tapped her finger on her mouth once or twice before replying, "I get that I look pretty scam-able I suppose, as for typical... Not everyone stands out.", she stated with a light smile. "So sure, I'm fine with being the one to approach him.", she concluded putting on a rather innocent face. If the man was willing to scam a little boy surely he wouldn't mind scamming someone rather innocent looking.

"Shall we go?", Chiharu offered, tilting her head in the direction that he had gone off in.

"Just one second." Yoko slowed her down, just knowing who was bait was fair from a plan of action, "While he is playing you, you need to do something to distract from the game, preferably to get the cards or something.... I know! Ask if you can shuffle first!" Yoko informed her, "Then... just change the game to one of 50 card pick up." Yoko suggested. "When I was looking at him he had his purse next to him, while he is trying to get the cards I'll swipe it. No problem." Yoko winked and held up her thumb. "What do you say?"
PostPosted: Sat Jun 06, 2009 10:16 pm

"Mmm...", Chiharu tapped her finger on her mouth while pondering how he would react to the game. It would probably work provided that Yoko stayed out of sight while they played. "I don't think he'd agree to 50 card pick-up... How about I just 'accidentally' drop all the cards on the floor?", she suggested. That way all she'd have to do is get the cards by offering to shuffle. Either way he'd have some trouble getting all the cards back in place making for the opening that Yoko would use. The plan seemed pretty easy. More or less. Provided that the scammer was still in the mood to play one more game today.

"Yep, just 'accidentally' drop the cards everywhere." Yoko confirmed. This is what she had meant, but so long as the girl was thinking innocently, the plan would be sure to work, "Now let's go find him!" Yoko began to walk in the direction that Chiharu had pointed earlier, wondering if they would find him.
PostPosted: Sun Jun 07, 2009 6:37 am

Chiharu nodded and walked behind Yoko slowly wondering if he would still be somewhere nearby. It'd be just their luck if he decided that he'd earned enough for a day and hid, but luckily for them they spotted him after walking a mere five minutes. For a skilled scammer he sure wasn't very smart to stay close by to where someone almost blew his cover. He was in the process of playing cards with that infamous deck. This time the poor victim of the scam was an elderly man. This guy sure didn't have limits to how far he'd go...

Chiharu paused there so their cover wouldn't be blown and turned to Yoko, "Are you ready for this?", she mused over to the other. They'd have to wait a bit for the latest scam to finish, but that probably wouldn't be in too long.

"Yeah," Yoko spoke in a hushed tone, "Go look interested, I'll go where I can get his money bag easily." There was no humor in her voice, it was dry and serious as she slipped into the shadows of a neighboring building.

This would either work or it wouldn't, regardless Yoko knew that it would need to work, or else there would be problems. Yoko quickly turned her Obi inside out and tied it again, hiding the brilliant gold. She also turned her collar so that the golden under layers were also hidden. Only the flecks of gold on the cloth itself still showed. Yoko then turned down the ally and went around back of the shop until she was in the shadowed alley beside the man, well hidden. She waited for the man to finish, and for Chiharu to approach him for a game.

At this point, the pieces were in place.
