Hi, I am not a diabetic so I am really out of my league here. I was wondering if there was a testing meter that doesn't require test strips. It is for my aunt in Vietnam who is having a lot of trouble with her diabetes. Any information would be great.

I have heard of a few meters like that, but I don't trust them as far as being reliable. However, there's this new little machine that monitors your blood sugar by checking it every five minutes and telling you which direction it is going(high or low). It's similar to a pump, in the sense that you can stick it in once and leave it in for two or three days. It uses a card/battery system, so when the card/battery runs out, all you have to do is pop in a new one.
I think that would help her the most if she's having trouble keeping her blood sugars in line.

I've heard very little about meters like that, and I sort of doubt that it's reliable.

i've heard of a special meter for people who dont like needles, i think you put it on your arm and it somehow sucks the blood out using a vacum, if thats what you mean?
