Bella peered up at the sky, dotted with twinkling stars. A cool breeze wafted through the air, sending a sweet smell of the forest running through her nostrils. She inhaled deeply.
"Ahhh..." she exhaled.
A voice came from the shadows to the left of her. "A beautiful night, isn't it?" asked Alice, with the unmistakable twinkling bells.
Bella looked at her. "Yes, it is. But... do you know where Edward is? He said the he'd be on his way, but I haven't seen him yet."
"Well, I bet he stopped on the way to hunt down something really quick." She tilted her head a bit. "A deer, I think."
At that point, Edward appeared too, smelling of deer. "Sorry I was late," he apologized. "Hopefully we didn't miss the meteor shower?"
"No, we didn't," Bella assured him. "It is starting soon, though, I think."
