this was written for ChiemiChan Chapter One:The moon is a mysterious figure who sits on it's throne in the sky. You can not always see it, but it is there. The sun seems to take over the moon, but yet, it is waiting. Waiting for the moment is can be set free and watch over the stars again, until the next morning will arise.... Jay straightened her red pleaded skirt for the tenth time before letting out a sigh. She padded gently through her apartment before stopping at the huge glass balcony door. With ears pricked up slightly, a tiny jet black puppy turned it's attention to her owner. "Well, I'm off," Jay informed the puppy before strolling down the dark, oak wood floor to settle on the step and slide on her brown loafers. Once the task had been finished, she grabbed her shoulder bag, slid it over her shoulder and exited the house. She briskly walked through the cool autumn wind and turned the corner, almost running into a long, dark haired teen. "Mornin', Tsuki." The dark hair girl greeted with a nod. "Good morning." Came the reply from Jay as she fell in step with Dez, "How was your night" "Good, good..Aside from too much homework and Juku last night, but other than that, fine" "That's good" "Hey by the way," Dez tilted her head towards her smaller friend, "why weren't you at Juku last night? Sensi asked about you" "I still wasn't feeling well." Jay looked up at her friend, "miss much" "Nope, nothing that you can't handle." As if to punctuate her sentence the bell rang. The girls hurried to their class room and managed to slide into their seats at the back of the class, Jay behind Dez, and open their notebooks. Jay felt flush, not from fever or hurrying, but the thought of spending another day with Dez. She didn't understand, the flutter her heart would make at the slightest touch or smile from her friend, her best friend maybe at that. Within the year she had known Dez , never had she connected so deeply with someone. But was she fooling herself? These feelings...this friendship...has she pulled it out of proportion? "Tsuki? Tsuki??" The poke followed shortly after the last mention of her name, and Jay snapped her head up. "Huh??" Jay sat up, making papers flutter of the desk in surprise. "Lunch time!" Dez exclaimed before adding, "and boy am I hungry." The lunch room was packed with other hungry girls, chattering in groups. Jay waiting near the cash register for Dez who was buying her lunch today. As Dez was waiting to pay she called, "you don't have to wait you know, you can go sit or something." she tilted her head towards the blonde. "Well..I thought..I would be nice and you know..wait?" Jay mumbled as Dez joined her to walk to a table. "Just didn't want to go without seeing me for too long, right?" Dez raised an eyebrow as Jay's eyes widened. "What? I mean, where would you get.." She was silenced by laughter. "I was joking, Tsuki, chill." "Okay." Jay was secretly thanking the heavens for getting her out of that situation. "You know, there is a festival coming up. They are looking for a lead to sing in some play, you should try out." Dez supplied as a conversation starter, hoping for a less awkward moment. "Me? No way, I don't do crowds" "Would you sing for me?" Dez asked. "Only if your my puppy, which judging on your features your not" "Please?" Why is Dez making it so hard to say no? Jay thought as she looked at Dez's smiling face. "No, I don't sing for people." Jay pouted. "Fine fine, suit yourself." The conversation ended there, never to be brought up again. The rest of lunch was supplied with useless drabble and giggles, only to be cut short by the bell, signaling another boring lesson. This time, it was Dez who was unable to think. She was thinking about the girl who sat behind her. She knew that, if she wasn't lost in thought, Jay would be writing her notes in her neat Hiragana, and if she finished, she would be drawing something in her sketch book that was never far from her at any given day. Dez lips curved into a frown ever so slightly. Why was she thinking all this? Was it because she was worried about what the future held for Jay and herself? What would happen if her hunch was correct? Did she know how to reply, if she would be able to speak at all. She starred down at her empty note book and for once, she wished that there friendship never started at all.

Chapter Two
~One week later~
The sun had hidden at least an hour ago and the moon glazed the sky with it's beams. Jay sat against the cool wall of the school, tracing stars and hearts in the gritty dirt the was scattered beside and underneath her feet. Her other hand was occupied keeping her jacket as tight as possible around her thin figure, to try and fight off some of the cold that was nipping at her skin. She was unable to keep her legs covered, which were bare from where her skirt ended and her socks started, and goose bumps had infested the space. Finally, a figure appeared from the lit room of the school and started towards Jay. Jay stood abruptly, brushing the dirt from her finger and skirt as Dez approached. "Why are you still here?" Dez asked, smirking slightly as Jay pondered the question. "Well I thought we could walk together...because it's dark and you know..umm.." Jay blushed slightly as she finished trying to explain herself. "Is that it, really?" Dez placed one hand on the wall over Jay's left shoulder and leaned in forward, "or could you just not get enough of me?" Jay's heart stopped, had she died or something? Her mind raced a million miles a minute, and none of the thoughts allowed her to grab it. She was left blinking wordlessly at Dez, looking like a complete idiot, as Dez observed and thought was kind of funny, yet cute. To be nice Dez stepped back and started to walk away. After a few paces into the starry night sky, she turned to face Jay and called, "coming or what?" and just started walking. Still caught of guard, and a lovely shade of pink, Jay's heart skipped a few beats before turning into motion and allowing her to race after Dez.
The walk home was sort of an awkward one, for Jay was afraid that if she opened her mouth the wrong thing would come out and shatter the friendship she was able to hold on to. She noted how Dez too was being quieter then usual, but still more able to speak then she was. "So, ummm, we're here?" Dez offered, motioning at the stained brick apartment building looming beside the girl. She was awarded a nod of effort and no eye contact to go along with it. "So I'll be going now?" the words were somewhere between a statement and a challenge. Letting moments bounce by, she just shrugged, and turned to disapeer around the brick wall but felt a hand grasp her jacket. Dez stopped but didn't turn. Just waited. That was all there was for the next moment, silence and the feeling of fear in Jay as Dez just waited. "I..." Jay started, still holding the jacket sleeve tight between her slender fingers, "I...I love you." The word came out rushed and blended together like a drink mixed too fast. Dez was almost unable to taste each separate word entering her system. As the silence crammed between the two teens, it pushed the grip of Jay's hand, falling to her side as if she could no longer hold it. Unable to stand and stare at the darkened sidewalk, she ran up the steps and went to yank on the door when she heard it, almost to soft to hear by the human ear, "I love you, too." The world stopped, for the second time that day. The tears overflowed in long salty waterfalls down her cheeks. Reality set in as she was warmed in Dez's arms and the whispering of, "My Aiko." and finally in that moment, her vigin lips met those of Dez's in warm and sweet embrace.
~~~~A few Months Later~~~~~
"Good morning, my Aiko" Dez leaned forward and pecked her girlfriend on the cheek. Jay blushed lightly before turning to meet Dez's eyes, "Good morning, Natsumi" She leaned forward, meeting lips on lips. The kiss ended softly before Dez started again, "Since today is Sunday, what do you want to do?" "I'm not sure." Admitted Jay shyly. She frowned slightly as her girlfriend started to laugh, "what is so funny?" she demanded. Holding her side, Dez choked out, 'you! Your just so darn cute." This just made Jay blush harder and mutter, "You don't have to laugh.." "Aww, Aiko, you know I love you." Dez stopped laughing and pulled Jay onto the closest bench, were they just sat, gazing into each other's eyes.
It still amazed Jay that she had some how made it to this point, being Dez's girlfriend. She looked back at all the comments that Tsumi had made at her blushes and all the times she had waited to walk home with her. Jay still wonders if Dez was testing the waters? Maybe wondering if their feelings were the same, kinda like she had, but in a more bold way.. "Hey, Natsumi.." "Mmm?" "I was wondering, all those comments you made, before we were together.." Jay stopped, unsure what to say next. "You're wondering if I liked you all the time, and was hinting?" Dez supplied and Jay nodded quickly. Dez breathed deeply before continuing. "Well, not really. I had a feeling that you liked me more then just a friend, I was trying to see if I was right. By your reaction, I concluded that you did indeed have a crush on me. The hardest part was trying to figure out my feelings towards you. If they were friendship or something more.." Dez gazed out at the playground cramped with screaming children. Her eyes settled on a pair of girls swinging on the swings, both laughing and smiling. She noted how one was blond and the other had long dark hair, blowing with the wind of movement. "I guess since I couldn't stop thinking about you at all and you were in my dreams most nights," she turned, "I really did love you. I just hoped that you would love me as much as I love you." "I promise, I will never let you go." Jay said softly, putting her arms around the taller girl, "not even when the world stops."
Chapter Three:~One Year Later~ The girls squealed as the rain came pelting down on them from above. They ran down the street, hand and hand, only letting go to save their fingers from smashing into a lamppost. By the time the reached the steps of Jay's apartment, there wasn't even a single inch of their body that hadn't been soaked to the core. "Do you want to come in?" Jay asked, yelling to be heard over the echoing of the rain smacking against the roof. Dez just nodded and the two rain up the stairs and hurried up to Jay's apartment. The bathwater was running, making a gentle background noise as Jay bundled her puppy into the kennel, making sure that she could sleep easy that night. Once the puppy has been taken care of Jay turned to face Dez, "Well Natsumi, do you want to take a shower first?" Dez smiled her seductive smile and grabbed Jay into her arms, "Tsuki, what makes you think that we are taking separate showers?" She bent her face down close to Jay's and brushed her lips against Jay's cheek. Jay's face warmed up like a kettle boiling, adding a deep shade of red to accompany it. "I..I.." She was shushed by Dez's lips took hers and Dez kept them there as the two walked into the bathroom, locking the door tightly behind them. ~Later that night~ Jay rolled over slightly to turn away from Dez, She let her eyes walk around the room , taking in all the clothes scattered around the floor, after the "magic" of last night. She sighed happily, as memories floated to the surface of the night's events. However lost in thought she may be, she somehow managed to spot her sketch book lying slightly tipping off her desk. Jay wiggled free of the covers and placed both feet on the icy surface below. Moving quickly, as to not to get her feet frozen to the floor, and silently, so Dez would not be disturbed, Jay made her way over to the sketch book and carefully shimmied it free of the papers bombarding it. She selected her favorite pencil, lead point sharp as daggers, and made her way to window, not before dawning a fuzzy lavender robe. By the gentle rays released by the moon above, Dez began to softly sketch her lover onto the page before her. It took hours of pencil point caressing the smooth paper below it, but just as the sky behind Jay was embracing colors, the black and white sketch was complete. She turned to look out the window, knees drawn to chest, pencil and sketch book cast aside. The beams of color tickled the sky, giving it a new look, much different then the one given by the moon. She absent mindedly ran her fingers down the long streams of blond hair. Jay felt her hand being grasped by a tight, but loving hand. She tilted her head back, accepting the good morning kiss given to her. "You know," Dez said, wrapping her arms around her tiny lover, "I've always liked the sun" For once, Jay had to agree, never had the sun seemed so beautiful. While the moon may have it's mysteries and secrets, cast among the darkened sky, the sun too hold many of it's own. The sun has an air around it, many are afraid to take in and hold, a beauty that is forgotten about. It too, must wait, watching the moon take it's throne every evening and rules with it, every day. ~owari
