Do you guys actually believe that the ISS can really hold commoners one day? I know people have been on it already, but with the accumulating space junk, it may not happen.
I think yes! anyone rich enough will be able to pay a visit. Also, something way better, there's a few companies planning to build space hotels in Low Earth orbit. One such company is Bigelow Aerospace:
http://www.bigelowaerospace.com/And with Virgin Galactic working on new space travel technology, the price might fall down significantly to an affordable price even to the upper-middle class.
But yes space junk would have to be cleaned up first, for more security... or they would have to build those stations & space hotels with thick protective shields... but that would have to be a few meters thick to give enough protection...
