Have you ever had anything embarassing happen to you while swimming?
Yes...I wanted to crawl in a hole :D
Nope, I'm not clumsy like that.
  I don't really remember...

One time, it was my turn to sprint, but my dive turned into a REALLY LOUD belly flop... it was pretty painful and quite embarrassing redface redface redface

We were diving at practice and I had to tell the coach I didn't know how to dive at all in front of everybody else. They all knew how to dive. I felt so embarrassed.

Oh i don't know.
Me and my friend Katlyn do them on purpose when we have substitute coaches. xD
The coach will say "Take your mark!" And immediatly after, she dives in. xD
We were all laughing sooo hard.

There were far too many people at this one swim meet. 20 something heats of the 200 free... with doubling up in the lanes (and this was just the girls). The last couple of heats got one person to a lane, and they were doing the whole dive-over-top-of-the-previous-heat-just-as-they-finish thing to save time (so the boy's heats would start immediately too). I was lucky in my best events to be in one of the last, circle-seeded heats and to have a lane to myself, but 200 free isn't exactly one of my best events (it's a bit too long, though overall, it's probably my 5th or 6th best event).

So, I was second in my lane. The first girl dove in and got the left side of the lane to herself; 20 seconds later I dove in and got the right side of the lane. It was long course, so on my way back to the 100 m turn, I was sticking close to my lane rope hoping to avoid the girl coming back along her lane rope, and instead - BAM!!! The girl on the other side of the lane rope and I rammed our arms against one another. The worst part was that we were also teammates!!! And we just slowed each other down! I went into my turn, and started on the second hundred a little shaken, but I was able to get back into it and finish my race.

I dunno if that was really embarrassing so much as a funny mishap that occurred during a race. I'm pretty sure that's the last swim meet that I ever did that was like that. Most of the other swim meets I did during my university career had a lot less participants (or had a few more days to compete, like at the 6-day Olympic Trials).
