There are two definitions that were coined during the Korean war, both of them having to do with killing Koreans.
a) When shot in the head with a high powered rifle, it looked like their heads exploded as if unzipped from the back of the skull.
b) When jeeps drive in mud, their tires leave a zipper-like track on the ground. When they drive over heads, they are crushed in the zipper.
But overall, I'll try to refrain from using that slur, I am truly sorry.
