This is really long so I bolded the main parts.
She's getting an iPod and she's like 10. All she listens to is mainstream s**t her friends dump on her [a la kelly clarkson and avril lavigne] and like. freakin' disney music.
I mean, I don't mind. I'm not jealous or anything; I honestly prefer my old iPod to the new nanos, plus the memories are too good to give up, yanno?
Buuut the reasoning is what ******** pisses me off.
In my family we have one computer. My parents are paranoid that we'll get addicted.
So, before, I monopolized the computer. That kind of makes sense. My mom only checked up on it once in a while and my dad did most of his work at work, since we don't have the necessary programs.
But, ever since my sister discovered MSN and flash games, she's been going on OBSESSIVELY. You know that virus I had in December or something that resulted in reformatting my computer? She got that from a sketchy flash game site. You know that MSN virus that's been going around? She's almost gotten that thing like TWICE before I told her to block all her friends who have that s**t.
I mean. It's not like I particularly HATE her being on MSN. We were all young and stupid once, right? & I'm not one to blow my top over stupid s**t like who gets to use the computer and when, but she's SUPER OBSESSED. Like, If I say I'll get off in 5 minutes, she'll sit there counting down on her watch.
So now, I only get to use the computer from after school till dinner, which is roughly 2 hours, 2 and a half if we're eating late. She uses it from after dinner to whenever we go to bed, so, anywhere from 2 to 4 hours. This is also why I'm so ******** slow at doing art and why I'm not so active.
I mean. It kind of annoys me that I get less time, despite the fact that this computer is pretty much MINE at this point. Probably 90% of the hard drive is my stuff, and half the programs are mine, too. But I don't get worked up over it.
BUT TODAY. I decided to go on the computer BEFORE lunch OH s**t. Note, this is AFTER I cleaned my room and AFTER I cleaned the fish tank. I got like, what, an hour in? After lunch I get my a** on again, and she comes up and tells me to get off. I'm like "wut."
Her reasoning is that since I went on in the morning, she gets the whole afternoon and some evening, and I get the rest of the evening.
I'm not really paying attention when she's saying this s**t; I'm trying to draw something, so I'm just sitting there nodding along. And then she blows up.
She starts yelling about how I get sooo much more time than her. Then I lose it and I start yelling about how that makes NO sense because she gets more time than me every weekday, so shouldn't I get weekends?
The stupid b***h starts crying and saying stuff like "I have nothing to do and I'm bored! You can draw and listen to your ipod but I caaaan't"
AND SO. My parents try to get in on it, but it's not working. So now my mom says I can have the afternoon and she gets the evening, but she continues crying for a good 10 minutes.
Then my mom, being the sucker that she is, caves in and says that she can have an ipod.
WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?
Do they honestly think that it'll resolve our stupid computer problems?
They're dealing with the most irrational shithead in the world, this is NOT going to work.
And you might think I'm being a little harsh.
Here, let me tell you a story.
Once upon and time there was a girl named Lucy. About a month ago she had some MAJOR summative projects to complete. This s**t was worth like 15-20% of her entire year. Every day after school for two weeks Lucy had to go to a different group member's house every day to work on group summatives, and every day when she finally got home from their houses, she had to work on individual summatives. She neglected real life and online social lives to get her work done. Now, Lucy had a sister. She and her sister had "worked out" a computer schedule of sorts. Lucy got afternoons, her sister got evenings. But wait! Lucy couldn't have her afternoons now because she had to work at other people's houses! She asked her sister is they could possibly switch the schedule so she could do her work. Her silly, silly sister refused, saying that it was Lucy's fault she couldn't do her work. Now, why did her sister want evenings so bad? Not only was it a larger block of time, more of her sister's friends were on then. That's all. Then after some negotiation involving death threats and parental units, Lucy finally got some of the time that she needed.
THE END.
I swear to god I'm gonna kill this b***h one of these days.
Maybe if I start crying they'll cave and get me some ******** paint, so I can actually do art outside of the computer.

Well, this further proves that younger siblings are the bane of one's existence.
Seriously, my 15-year-old brother (the youngest) still gets his way sometimes by whining, and he neglects to do small things by complaining about it.
And it's as though the 'rents can't even see how they're being manipulated!
It's very frustrating because I know at least for me, whining/crying like that would never have worked. My parents would have told me to suck it up and do it, and stop being a brat. It's like they become more and more lax with each child.
Also, this just goes to show that young kids don't know how to be reasonable and use some basic logic. I think you will have to employ some tough love, and I don't blame you for blowing up at her; she had to hear it.

It's the oposite in my house. My sister gets away with a lot of things, and I just sit here. I don't ask for much, but if I do I get shot down. My sister asks for sooo much. And then she ruins things for me, too. If she messes up, I'm not allowed to do the same activity... = /

Ouch. D:
Your sister is totally spoiled, and it's complete b.s. that she'd do any of that to you. Manipulation like that is ridiculous.
But, I can't really say much, because I'm an only child, and I don't have to put up with that crap, but I know b.s. when I see it, and your sister is quite full of it.

Maybe now she'll only load viruses to her iPod.
:/
To be honest, being the youngest I was the spoiled one, my parents always buying me candy : D But I've tried being as reasonable as possible with the computer. Two of my brothers have ADD, and this somehow gives the feeling that they are actually the younger brothers. So I let them on when they are really bored and want to go on.
But she's being a spoiled little b***h D: < You should slowly extend your hours on the computer, and tell her to suck it up.

I know this child. This is the child you see in the movies. You know the one. Grant Torino. The one that doesn't get the car. The one that texts at her grandma's funeral. Show your parents that video of that boy. The 9-10 year old boy addicted to Myspace, and when his older brother took it away, he screamed at him for a good ten minutes. Tell them that an Ipod is a waste of money and 35 dollars can buy her a 2 gig mp3 player and a gig card to add more to it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tT2asOtqVbwMaybe like....bleeep out some of those parts. NSFW kind of thing.

That really sucks, I don't understand why parents act like that, they should know that caving in to a child's demands is more hurtful than helpful, she should be shown some tough love from not only you but from your parents to help her understand how things really work.
