I know of a fantastic place to learn traipse, hoop, silk, and roe aerial acrobatics.
Simone in West Seattle is a Fantastic teacher and her classes are extremely in expensive. 20$ for a group lesson (monday nights thursday evening and sunday morning) or 40$ for a private session.

There isnt a licensing process in seattle. For most circus style art forms you find find an licensed instructor unless your near one of the circus academies. She is recognized instructor though, her classes are posted on teachstreet.com and I believe she is the best instructor for a total beginner. Seattle's other instructors charge more (they are worth it) but I think that they are better for a more intermediate student, someone who can grasp more information from the class than a new beginner (like me) I think the best way is to learn the basic of them all and then decide where your strengths and weakness's are.
I thought I would only want to work with hoop and silk/tissue but after playing with them I'm not as interested in the hoop and I like the rope way more than I thought I would.
