"You see the thing about werewolves is that we're horribly misinterpreted. I mean all that with the silver bullets killing us and what not is definitely a lie. Silver being admitted into our body only makes us mortal, until its taken out of our body. Nobody ever hears about werewolves living forever being that we're too horrible to talk about. All you ever hear about are vampires, and how mystical it must be to suck blood and to feast on what used to be they're own kind, but not us though...we're different. We can survive without really harming the humans. Where's the fun in that you ask...I sometimes ask myself the same thing. I do enjoy my bout of hunting within the city, but its so much easier to get what you want in the forest of nowhere. Regardless of that, werewolves have been getting quite the bad reputation out there due to our...crude change, but that's all going to change soon. I will give you insight into our world, and reveal to you the true makings of a lycan. We aren't just shallow near extinct beast, although our primitive urges are quite strong and we are quite elusive. Like every race we have our weak and twisted minds that prey on innocents, but not most are like that. We are complex both physically, mentally, and spiritually. We have many enemies throughout the world and some in the other world. Only few of us live to be eons old. Let me tell you tale of something more accurate, more along the lines where vampires are more so afraid to tread. No we're not few, and we do not fear the vampires...its just we've been more successful in covering our existence than those foul bloodsuckers. So as I said before...come, and hear my story...I shall tell you the truth of everything, but where should I begin?"

-Angeal Cross

The scenario is within the bustling city of New York, where most of you should be aware has a different variety of people in the night time. All types of creatures live here within the nightlife of the city. Vampires, Lycans, and even Demons, but not just your anime type demons, no...i'm talking about the vile type that tend corrupt, feast, pray on the weakness of mankind. That was just the few creatures of the night that dwell here, there are many others, most of which are our enemies. We werewolves tend to stick to our own packs, and are often known to battle other packs who tread into our territory/hunting grounds. During the day is another thing. We live normal decent lives. Club owners, car dealers, walmart employees...you name it, and we'll probably have someone within it. There are several clubs, bars, and area in which we frequent, some of which are teeming with other races, but those places usually end up in a quarrel of sorts. The sewers are home to what I like to call the vermin of the city...wererats. No one really gets along with those little rats, but fear them nonetheless. They fight in immense numbers, and seem to teem about the area quite often. If you ask me they're a bunch of scavengers. One of our biggest threats are the arachnids. Those foul beast have had it out with us for some time now. They are powerful beings that prey on my kind, but god only knows thats only capable when we're singled out.

He sat amongst the rugged crowd of men and women at a table in the corner slowly stirring his black coffee. The place was quiet other than the sound of a freshly cracked egg and two well overcooked pieces of ham sizzling away on the grill. Angeal's light gray eyes seemed to reflect within the dark pool of coffee drawing him deep within memories of his past. Truth be told he stood out quite a bit there. He wasn't poorly dressed as most of the patrons, nor did he reek of alcohol. His train of thought was quickly broken by the chuckling of the either drunk or high patrons on the other side of the restaurant. He smiled as one of the women at their booth glanced in his direction, and quickly looked away blushing. Truth be told he was bored of such attention, and cliche dialog. He had lived for hundreds of years and throughout time, most women had become...bland.

His attention was once again diverted when the waitress came by with a pot of coffee offering to fill up his still full mug. He respectfully declined, and smiled kindly. He didn't know why he came to such a run down joint, but overtime it became somewhat of a ritual. He ran his hand through his short black hair, with a slight touch of gray, and sighed. Another uneventful night as always in the god awful city. Aside from the rather tasty coffee he got there, he never ate the food. It was either too greasy or too overcooked to his liking. He almost couldn't stomach watching other patrons scarf down they're over greased hash browns without so much as another thought.

Ysari wasn’t sure what she was doing wandering this particular part of the city. Certainly she could have found a more welcoming neighborhood in which to take a stroll, especially when she was on her own. However, the brutes and vagrants in this part of the city couldn’t frighten her-hardly anything did anymore. She was used to doing things alone, and in turn had learned to fend for herself out of necessity. Being the last surviving member of her blood family was a fact that was meaningless to her; she had braced herself against the limited lives of her brethren since a young age, knowing that she would eventually outlive them all. And now here she was, wandering through a slum of New York City with as much care as if she were walking through Central Park at daytime, her destination nowhere in particular.

Dozens of eyes followed her as she passed down the street, following her from dark alleyways and shuttered windows. Ysari certainly stood out in the type of clothes she wore, dressy and professional. Or perhaps it was because she was a woman who wasn’t loitering a corner looking for a buzz or getting some guy off for a bit of money. Whatever it was, even Ysari knew that Uptown girls didn’t travel to this side of the city unless they were looking to loose their lives. Sighing heavily, she adjusted the collar of her coat to cover her neck a bit better against the brisk wind that was beginning to pick up. She was getting hungry, and quite frankly she wanted to get off the street for a little while to rest her feet. Ysari had been walking for nearly 3 hours now, trying to distract herself from a message she knew would be waiting for her when she made it back to her hotel room. It wasn’t something she wanted to deal with without being prepared.

Moments later, she could smell food cooking not far up the street and looking ahead of her she saw the light from the window of the breakfast joint whose sign was flickering every few seconds. It was better than nothing she thought, and moments later took the defiant steps into the building. The inhabitants were more or less exactly as she had expected, undoubtedly residing somewhere in the area. After pausing to see if someone would seat her, she chuckled to herself and found a table for herself, close to the window near a large group of rather rambunctious males, talking loudly as though several were drunk. A waitress came by a few minutes later and asked what she could get for her. Ysari examined the woman's face, tired and weary of working, and offered a small smile.

"Just a cup of coffee please. Black."

Angeal briskly glanced upon the newcomer taking in every attribute, and he found her more or less like himself, someone whom didn't necessarily blend in well. He knew all to well to never trust the people in this city, and all the more to lookout for those who tend to stand out. He stood up, and walked up to the register as he pulled out his wallet, still gazing at the woman from the corner of his eye. He nearly missed the waitress telling him his total as he gazed at her. She was truly a work of art, but aside from looks, something didn't quite stand right with him about the way she carried herself. He smirked as he pulled out a hundred dollar bill and slipped it to the waitress. She gasped softly, and informed Angeal that he only owed ninety-eight cents, but he warmly smiled, and told her to keep the change. She starred in astonishment as he turned his back, and stepped outside into the chilling night. Perhaps tonight would bring about something rather different.

He walked past the window staring in at the woman whom had entered, and smirked. Maybe she was foreign. Not a lot of foreign people know to fear coming out this time of night. He chuckled as he continued to walk past the window giving a light smile to the new comer as he slowly distanced himself from the Waffle Hut. His stomach growled lightly, and he grinned mischievously hoping that someone from the Waffle Hut caught wind of how much money he tipped the waitress...he was looking for a succulent morsel to devour. Oh what a good night it was to hunt.

Ysari almost didn't catch the intent gaze she was receiving from the man who soon left the restaurant after she herself had entered. Certainly nearly everyone else in the place was giving her strange looks as soon as she stepped foot in the door. She ignored the others without much difficulty, but something about this man was different. Sipping her coffee, she kept her attention on him without looking at him, listening intently as he paid for his drink and walked out. Something about him was odd, more of in the sense of her kind of odd. However, before she could think too much longer on the subject, she was brought back to reality by a fist slamming down onto her table.

Looking up, she came face to face with a large man in dark clothing, whose breath wreaked of tobacco and hard alcohol. His face was mere inches away from her own, but instead of backing away she held her ground. "Don't get pretty little things like you around here often." he said, his speech slurred. "You'se got some company for tonight missy?"

"I should think not, sir. It gets awful tiresome going for a walk while trying to keep up with someone else. I travel at my own pace." she replied plainly, bringing her cup up to take another sip of coffee.

"Aw, don't be so cold missy, why don't I take you up to my room with me, and see if I can't change your mind?" The man grinned wide, showing several missing teeth. He moved as though to grab her by the arm, but before he got close she flicked her wrist and sent the hot coffee flying straight into the man's face. He pulled back, yelping with pain. Ysari left the waitress a tip and her business card and got to her feet, slipping past the injured man and his friends who had been slowly approaching.

Once again, she found herself on the street, heading again away from where she had come. Had that man gone this way? Again, her mind was on him and she had already forgotten about the oaf whose screams she could still hear behind her. She would keep walking until she got bored, then either head back towards her home or find somewhere else to rest.

Angeal paused momentarily as he picked up the lingering scent of the Waffle Hut. Someone trailed it's fumes along his path, perhaps a few yards back, and he paused, and nonchalantly turned around awaiting his pursuer. He figured it'd be either the drunken brute trying to strike it rich, or one of those intoxicated females...either way it seemed the hunt had come to him. His eyes widened, when low and behold that same mysterious woman walked into plain view. He swore to himself, and stared directly at her for some time. The greasy scent of the Waffle Hut had faded from her, and a unfamiliar scent followed. What was she? He couldn't tell for sure if she was human or one of his own, and knew better than to ask. He quickly uttered...

"Why are you following me? You a cop?"

He decided to throw in the cop bit to somewhat throw her off his trail. Better for the enemy to be surprised as well, if that was the situation. He made sure to stay within the shadows as he gazed at her infatuated by this odd meeting. His heart raced with excitement, and he could feel the tenacity within the air as he licked his lips to moisten them. He felt nude, and caught off guard, and knew that he had been far to sloppy with how things were going. He had grown accustomed to the easy way of hunting, and had greatly let his guard down over the past forty years. He smirked a bit, not once removing his eyes from the woman.

Ysari hadn't noticed the man until he spoke. So often she tended to drown out the world around her that she forgot anyone else was there. It took her a moment to understand his question, wondering if he was actually talking to her because she couldn't see his face and therefore where he was looking. Assuming however that he was referring to her, as she did not sense anyone else around, she replied with what many would call a British accent.

"Forgive me, I had no intent on following you. I had been headed in this direction before I stopped in the restaurant back there, and was just continuing along my path. As for being a cop, I am not, though telling you will undoubtedly not do me any good. You're free to check, if you wish." she raised her arms, giving him access to the pockets of her coat if he so desired. The only thing she kept on her person was her wallet and an antique pocket watch.

While waiting to see what the man before her would do, she finally noticed the sound of approaching footsteps from behind her, and angry chatter coming from at least 5 men. Taking a quick glance over her shoulder, she saw the man from the restaurant and his friends headed right for them, the smell of coffee growing stronger with every step. "It seems I'm not the only one headed this way tonight." Ysari said, turning her attention back to the man in the shadows.

"Hey!" the burnt man called out, seeing Ysari. "You got a lot of nerve b***h, and thinking I'd let you get away after that? You outta your mind?"

"You are just upset that I wouldn't let you treat me like the common trash you are used to dealing with around here, sir. To be honest you got the least of what you deserved." The man chuckled, cracking his knuckles loudly.

"You picked the wrong guy, missy. Ain't no one here to help you, and you better hope you're a good runner because when I get a hold of you you're gonna wish you'd never set foot through that door!"

Angeal chuckled from the shadows as he stepped in front of the woman from out the darkness, and flashed his once gray eyes to an eerie golden color. He made sure to keep his back turned towards the woman as to not reveal much of his disposition. Had she been human and seen his eyes...she would've been terrified. He smiled at the other men behind the brute, and grinned revealing one of his jagged teeth. The men stumbled backwards undoubtedly shaken by his unsightly changes, and slowly backed away.

"Your wrong dear friends...you see, for all due respect, you chose the wrong lady to mess with. Now...run along before someone gets...hurt." He said letting his ghastly eyes change back into they're normal gray and then turning around towards the lady.

"Shall we," he said as he outstretched his arm ignoring the five men.

He prayed those men would heed his warning, and hoped that they weren't much of the foolhardy type, especially after showing them that he was far from normal. He sighed at the thought of letting such easy prey slip through his fingers, but at the moment he had something far more interesting, and he deemed that worthy enough to miss a meal or two for. He mind was racing with thoughts as to what he done...he no doubt just complicated things for this new woman by sticking up for her, and without a doubt she'd want to get to know him all the more for it. He sighed in surrender to the thought, and looked back up at the woman with his sparkling light gray eyes.

"Well?"
PostPosted: Sun Jan 03, 2010 6:57 pm

Ysari turned to face the thugs as the man passed her, interested in what he planned to do. By the look on the other's faces, it wasn't just his tone that had them frozen with fear. Their leader however, was less swayed by the man, and his gaze slowly moved from him to her. Narrowing her eyes, she focused her thoughts in his direction, saying with grave sincerity, "If you don't want to die tonight, I suggest you do as he says. You don't know what you are dealing with..."

The leader was stunned for a moment but began blinking furiously when she broke her gaze with him. "L-lets get out of here boys," he muttered, turning to leave, but not before calling over his shoulder, "You better not let me catch you around here again b***h, or it'll be your head..." They scurried off back towards the restaurant, and Ysari watched their retreating figures for just a moment before turning back to the man who had just stood up for her.

With an eyebrow slightly raised in interest, she dropped her arms and motioned down the street before them, giving him her permission to lead her where he desired. "There really wasn't any need to go to so much trouble for me, not that I am not grateful. And, I suppose, a bit of company couldn't hurt. At least for a little while."

Ysari fell silent again, her eyes fixed down the sidewalk to what lay ahead of them. More buildings and faint street lights. She sighed, wishing she had taken her walk somewhere more scenic, not because it would have been "safer" but she wasn't much of a city person.

Angeal chuckled a bit, and walked ahead down the streets, only to turn around to face her as he trudged along backwards.

"It was nothing...truth be told, I come here looking for trouble," he said with a laugh, pulling from his pocket a badge. "I'm NYPD...gotta keep the streets clean ya know," he said with a smirk. "I hope that doesn't sway you in any way, I would really enjoy some company...how about a drink?" he asked softly feeling a bit bold.

He shoved his badge back within his pocket knowing that would cover up whatever little stunt he pulled back there. He hadn't felt alive like this for some time actually. A nice stiff drink and a bloody steak sounded actually charming to top off the night's mood. Of course he'd save the steak for a more private occasion. Didn't want to startle his new companion with his eating. He preferred his steak...rare...very rare. He chuckled to himself for such thoughts, and grinned showing his pearly white teeth.

"I say we have ourselves a quiet evening enjoying a martini or two, and listening to some good music away from this neck of the woods...like jazz?"
PostPosted: Sun Jan 03, 2010 7:29 pm

Ysari watched him as he walked facing her, a small smile crossing her lips. "Indeed you do. Forgive me, officer, but I haven't and should thank you properly, regardless if you would consider what you did your duty." She put her hands in her own pockets, the fingers of her left hand running along the surface of her watch absentmindedly. Even without taking it out, she knew that she had more than enough time to go with the officer.

"I'd love a drink, if you know a decent place. And a bit of jazz could be quite...nice." she replied, tilting her head slightly to one side. He might have been straightforward in asking, however she did not sense ill intent in his offer. In fact, there was something about his eyes, cool and deep, that fascinated her. She couldn't help but get the feeling she had seen eyes like his before.

"How do you suppose we get there? I don't mind walking, but if you've got a faster solution I would be up for it." she finally added, her gaze lingering away from his eyes to take in his entire face. Ysari wondered how old the man was, as to her he appeared to still be quite youthful. Perhaps in his 20's or 30's. Then again, what did it matter to her? If he was human, he would be long dead before any change in her appearance happened. A pity the lifespan of humans, she thought, shaking her head in a moment of true sorrow.

He smiled once more as he turned around reaching into his coat and retrieving a set of keys. He smiled as he peered down the street seeing his car still untouched by the corruption and poverty. He grinned at its sleek form shimmered in the moon's lights. It was quite flashy for a cop to be driving around, but he had the cover of coming from a wealthy family so that didn't quite matter. He joyfully clicked the unlock button on his car remote, and remotely started it. A fully stocked Dodge Charger did suite him, or so he thought. He enjoyed its warmly heated seats in the dead of winter, and his advanced stereo system and gps for those really long drives. He paused slightly and looked back at the woman whom was accompanying him, and smirked...

"I just so happened to have parked my car down the street. You know what...I don't believe I've caught your name yet. My name's Angeal, but everyone at the precinct calls me by my last name...Cross. You can call me Angeal." he chuckled as his mood brightened hearing the rhythmic purring of his vehicle.

He quickly walked to his vehicle popping the trunk, removing his jacket, and placing it within it revealing his holster and his gun. He wore it more or less to keep folks at the bar at bay when not wanting any trouble, but usually it was just for decor. Truth be told he enjoyed the thrill of battle, and the look on his opponents face when he changed. It was enticing. He chuckled again at the thought, and realized he hadn't been so giddy with joy in some time causing him to question what exactly about the woman made her so refreshing. He paused as he opened the passenger side door and looked at her for a second trying to unveil whatever secrets she had, but to no avail.
PostPosted: Sun Jan 03, 2010 8:47 pm

The purring of the car’s engine cut through the silence of the street, slightly amplified to her ears. She didn’t own a car, as she preferred either walking or taking the subway. But the car was nice, especially for a police officer. "My name is Ysari, but if you prefer, you may call me Ari. I have been known as such." she replied, following him to his car and climbing inside once he opened the door. For a moment, she turned and met his gaze, but looked away and smiled

"It's nice to meet you...Angeal." she added, wanting to see how his name felt to her. It was almost poetical, she mused to herself. While she waited for him to get in the car himself, she buckled her seat belt and took the time to observe the interior of the car. It was what you would expect from looking at the exterior, high-end and exquisite. It was warm, and she found herself sinking deep into her seat, her eyes drooping with a sudden wave of sleepiness.

Everything about Angeal was different. He certainly wasn't like any cop she had had the pleasure of knowing, and they way he dealt with the thugs moments before..."You'll forgive me for asking, but I've just thought of this. You asked me back there before we were interrupted if I was a cop. Wouldn't you have known that, being one yourself?" she said, chuckling. She was trying her best to lighten the mood, and to keep him talking. His voice had a smooth quality to it that put her at ease. And again, she couldn't help but feel that certain things about him were oddly familiar. Regardless, she couldn't put a finger on the reason why.

He was silent for a bit as they drove down the road listening to some light classical music past a rather large estate, he chuckled at her question. He hadn't thought out that, but immediately knew how to respond to it.

"Simply put...I tend to keep my identity a secret when it comes to being a cop, other than when i'm on the job. You see, people in that part of town, although shady, tend to come in handy as informants. I wouldn't want my cover being blown, nor theirs."

He chuckled at the thought of almost being caught in his twisted web of lies, but if it got him by, then so be it. He pulled into the parking lot of a rather bustling jazz club, and parked in a reserved parking spot. He exited the car as a man met him from the club, and took his keys. "Ah Mr. Cross, we we're wondering when you'd arrive...and with company nonetheless," spoke the lavishly dressed man. "Please go in and enjoy yourself, your booth has been made ready, and a bottle of the finest awaits you and your company," said the man as he sat within the car, and drove it around the corner.

Angeal blushed as he looked towards Ari, and grinned slyly. "Oh...did I forget to mention i'm a multi-millionaire?" he said rather sheepishly. He always forgot such details. Most women at that point would either feel intimidated or try to seduce they're way into his pockets...he was hoping Ari was a bit different. "This club here just so happens to be one of my many properties around..." he said flashing a grin towards his guest. "Don't worry...i'm not one of those rich arrogant playboys you hear about...i'm actually quite modest," he chuckled as he awaited Ari.
