Your thoughts on it?
Recently my lover and I discovered we were both rather intrigued by the very same thing -- "webcam slaves," or "webcam pets." You get the idea. We've been on the lookout for such ever since, but I was curious now what you all thought of the idea of long-distance D/s, including the obvious possibility of webcam play.
But for the love of god, don't be doing anything like showing your tits if you're underage.
Edit; Now that the possibility of long-distance D/s has truly emerged and I'm just as interested in it as ever, for you guys who have done it... how does it work? I've never done it before and don't wanna make an a** outta myself.
Edit #2; So I'm in a long-distance D/s relationship now, and things are still a little rough while we figure out how to make things work, but I do luff my pet.

hmmm o-o i actually think its an interesting idea, but it's not for everyone. ;3 personally im' just fine with long distance dominance (it's just about the only kind i get to experience) in RPs and such. O.o sometimes an IRL order or two is ok. but a web cam is a little much at the moment.

I'm pretty certain that the authorities would consider any sort of underage BDSM no different than nude webcamming. Obviously, I'm no where close to being underage - I'm the mother of a teenager, in fact. I don't understand the appeal of webcam play, but I don't get cybering, either. smile Physical contact is a large part of what I enjoy.

I see so many people who are under 18 and claim to be in Master/slave relationships and taking part in BDSM. I know that, here in Canada, at least, the age of consent for alternative sexual activities is 18. I've never seen that there's an age exemption with that (ie., with sex, if you're under 16, you can have sex with someone within 5 years of your age), so I'm not *sure* how the authorities would handle it. I'd hate to see a young person get tagged as a sexual offender for a perfectly consensual kinky relationship with a same-age partner. My comment was intended in much the same vein, I think, as yours regarding nudity - if you're underage, be careful.

There are a lot of "slave" RPs and such on Gaia... Meh.

for me long distance web cam it depends on the people and what you are doing. There are times when long distance with web cam like in a mentor relationship can be a great thing. Other times its just play with a lot of nudity.

Well, I think in some ways it can be a little safer then, say, meeting up with some random stranger for a scene or two. Yes, it still has quite a few risks.. Such as creepy internet stalkers. BUT, you're a lot closer to Safe, Sane, & Consensual if you don't have some other person physically there doing things to you. As long as you don't get yourself stuck in bondage or something, I think it can be a good way to test the waters, so to speak.

I have to agree with the testing the waters part. It would create a much safer environment for younger people to find out some of what they like.
Edit: Every now and then we use things like Skype or the MSN voice recording feature to have lovely conversations where we can actually hear what the other is saying.

When it comes to voice recording, I recommended Xfire. It allows for a chat to take place, and since there is no button pressing, you can talk as if you were actually on the phone.

I have a little experience with this actually. I had a possible Mistress who liked to see me on webcam and have me do things but I was always very shy. I think with the right person though it could be very fun once both parties are comfortable. Plus, it's nice to be able to see each other when there's distance involved in any relationship.

Well i've found myself very very interested in such activities for quite a while now. I've actually gotten myself a web cam and disgital camera. I'm really wanting to find a mistress or master with a webcam. I really wan't to find a strong relationship with a dominant other who would enjoy having a webcam pet.
