How about a thread thats kinda like a prayer box where people put in the names of the people that need prayers I kinda think it would help for the religious people...
or the non-religious ones too!!
But its just a suggestion...

A very interesting idea. I'm not a praying person myself, but I can understand where you're coming from.

I'm behind this too, I think this a good idea and it can be non-denominational and could be more for prayer requests. That way it's open to everyone as Shishi mentioned.
