FLY HIGH GRYFFINDOR!

Anna grinned at him and mounted her broom, flying in smallish arcs as she circled higher. She stopped at about twenty feet off the ground and tossed the quaffle to herself a few times, apparently still thinking. "And the loser... The loser has to... Do one thing the winner will demand of them, whatever it is." She grinned again, holding out her hand in the traditional way that men agreed to deals. "Deal?" She inquired pointlessly.

Oh, yes, this was going to be fun for Anna. She always thought she was particularly dexterous when it came to catching the quaffle. Oh, Damian was in for it. She planned on humiliating him. Whether it be snogging her in the entrance hall or showing up to quidditch practice in a chicken suit and a duckbill and jingle bells. She could get creative, be assured.

Damian thought for a moment. While that sounded like a good bet to him, he also had to remember that he was a prefect now, so that meant that he had to look like he was good, whether he was or not. Frankly, he wished he could back up two years, before he became a prefect. Back then, he hadn't worried about such silly things, only getting caught doing something wrong and the punishment that usually ensued.

He mounted his broom and flew up to Anna, grabbing the Quaffle from her. He manuvered his to stop right in front of hers.

"Almost." He said, tossing the Quaffle in his hands. "Don't forget, I'm still a Prefect, so I can't be caught doing things that'll get me in trouble. If it is something against the rules, then it has to be something that you can get away with." He was sure that he'd best Anna, but on the off-chance that he didn't, he wanted to be sure that he wouldn't get himself in big trouble with the staff.

Anna became pensive. Well now, that took all the fun out of it, didn't it? At least trouble-wise. There wasn't anything about humiliation in the rulebook, as far as she knew. Not that she'd ever really bothered to read it cover to cover, mind you, but she did keep a copy in her trunk for such a time when its usefullnes would appear. A time such as now. Making a mental note to check when she returned to her room she nodded again, grasping his hand and shaking it. "It's a deal."

And then Anna grinned as another idea formed in her head. Inching her broom slowly forward until she could easily reach his face, she kissed him on the lips, hoping to tease and therefore distract him. 'We didn't set any rules.' She reminded herself as her hands grasped both sides of his face in an effort to further effect him. After a moment or two, she pulled away, ignoring the own rapid beating of her pulse. Abruptly, she sped off, halting about twelve feet from him and turning back around to face him. Unfortunately, she hadn't exactly anticipated the side effect of distracting herself, as well. But she'd just have to deal with it. "You're up first." She informed him.

As Anna waited for Damian to toss it, she gripped her broomstick tightly and with skill, her eyes narrowing on instinct. Once, she recalled, Pippa, the darling, had told her that she got the oddest look on her face whenever she played Quidditch. Anna was a tad skeptical at first, but the more Pippa described it, the more Anna came to believe her. Apparently, it was rather scary. The way her gray-blue eyes narrowed and the look of intense concentration that seemed to take over her whole being. Pippa had since then, after a very lengthy, somewhat pointless, very detailed imagery speech of the look, commented on it as, 'You look you're going to eat it.' 'Very well,' Anna thought with a smirk, her eyes never once leaving the quaffle as he held it, 'then let me be starving.'

And well, Anna's kiss did a bit to distract Damian's attention, but Damian loved the game too much to be completely distracted by something so simple as a kiss, even from Anna. Though he did enjoy it.

Right before he began, he took a moment to admire Anna's "game face". It was one of those expressions that could make a vulture jealous. And frankly, it was a sight, especially when the other team saw it. Usually they looked halfway frightened of her when she had the face on.

Gripping the Quaffle, he speed toward one of the hoops on the practice field as if to throw it into the hoop, but quickly threw it to Anna, purposely a bit below her so that she would have to drop down to get it. In a real game, against all the other chasers and beaters and bludgers, the chances of him, or any other chaser for that matter, throwing a perfect throw to someone else were very slim, so it was best to practice by throwing the Quaffle just a bit off target.

Anna nodded silently to herself, her grip flexing on and off on the broomstick. She noted that her kiss hadn't effected him much, after all. Not that she really expected it to. 'Nothing short of taking off my jumper would distract him.' She murmured to herself internally, concentrating intently.

By pure reflex, Anna jerked forward, and such laid out her own doom. Or at least almost. Biting her bottom lip and cursing slightly, she dove after the quaffle as it was hurtling toward earth. She caught it, feigning easiness. "Good throw." She complimented him. And it was, but her tone of voice suggested otherwise. Anna loved to do that, she did. Say one thing but change her tone so the meaning was easily able to be misnterpreted, or vice versa. It was great fun.

Placing an impulsive kiss on the quaffle's dirty surface, she, barely able to keep from gagging at the dust, as it clearly hadn't been used in a while, hurled it at Damian, over his head, and a little to the left. It wasn't her best past by far, they were trying to win here, but it was certainly not her worst. She thought it best to start off slow.

Damian smiled as Anna easily caught the Quaffle. There had been nothing difficult about his throw, so he expected Anna to catch it with no difficulty at all.

He waited patiently as Anna prepared to throw it, grimacing when she took a moment to kiss its surface. He would have to remember not to let her kiss him until she cleaned out her mouth from the dust and grime.

As soon as the Quaffle flew overhis right shoulder, Anna's left, Damian almost into a loop after it. He managed to catch it within a few seconds, and definitely well above the ground. The loop was purely for showing off. If this had been a real match, he would have dove straight down to get the Quaffle.

"Nice throw!" he called to her. With that, he threw it upward into the air straight above him as high as he could, with the point being that Anna would have to head towards it. This was a common play in the game, which usually resulted in one player throwing it to a player above them to change the altitude of the Quaffle.

Anna smirked at him, her gray-blue eyes narrowings slightly. She next rolled her eyes at his comment and body language, amused. She then waited. Instead of speeding right after the quaffle as she most certainly would have done the moment it left the other chaser's hand in a real game, she waited. She fake yawned, winked at him, and finally dove with dangerous speed.

Though it was obvioulsy a very easy pass, all she had to do was accelerate to catch it the first few dozen seconds, she'd made it more difficult on herself. With a wide grin, she pulled up about ten feet from the ground, caught it 'round it's middle, tucked it securely under her arm, and shot back up. She smiled at him lightly, taunting him silently with her eyes.

She then, after contemplating it for a moment or two, hurled it behind him, a good twenty or twenty feet away. She then waited, her eyes torn between Damain and the quaffle.

Damian was a bit concerned when Anna didn't immediately go after the Quaffle. When he saw the yawn, his concern disappeared. He would have to mention it to her not to do that during a real match or else the Quaffle might get snatched up by the other team, though she was probably more than aware of that.

He nodded his approval when she caught the Quaffle, though close to the ground.

As soon as she threw the Quaffle, he quickly took off after it. Sure, he could have done just like she did and waited, but he really wanted to sharpen his skills. In his mind, he counted the number of seconds it took him to get the Quaffle as he shot after it. 'Not bad.' he thought to himself when he grabbed the Quaffle.

Damian then sped toward Anna, but threw the Quaffle as hard as he could behind him.

She again privately rolled her eyes to herself at him; he needn't worry about her. She was fine. She'd been doing those dives since second year. She cocked her head slightly to the left, studying him as he sped after it. She half expected him to get it again and toss it easily at her, but when Anna saw it go flying past her, she knew they were serious now.

With narrowed eyes from concentration, she took after it, almost not catching it. Almost. But it wasn't really her fault, it was the tree's. She'd almost run into it. The whole thing was rather comical, actually. She'd caught the quaffle, unseeing of anything else, and then had almost run head-long into the topmost, green part of the tree. Her eyes had gotten wide, and at the last minute she'd swerved, and had managed to avoid colliding with its trunk. Thankfully, the only damage she'd emerged with was her right arm was full of shallow scratches, even if it was still bravely clutching the quaffle.

She turned around and looked back at him, appearing to be ignoring her scratches all together. Anna then seemed to be thinking, attempting to judge the thirty or forty or so feet to him. She grinned, flew up high, smiled at him mischeivously, and dropped the quaffle. Admittedly, she was about twenty-five feet above the ground, before she ascended, she was now about forty, it would have been harder for him hadn't she flown up, but she couldn't be merciless on him. She did fancy him, after all.

Damian's eyes widened as he saw Anna heading straight for a tree. He would have tried to save her, but he would have gotten there too late. When she managed to fly up without crashing into the tree, he breathed a sigh of relief. He figured she would be okay, but it never hurt to be concerned.

He gave her a look, 'You had me worried there for a bit.'

His eyes widened again when he saw the move she intended for him: a straight drop below her. As he watched the Quaffle fall, he made a quick calculation in his head and dove forward, heading downward. He needed to beat it down.

About 5 feet from the ground, he managed to scoop the Quaffle up, almost missing it though. It had been a difficult move and had his broom not been as fast, then he wouldn't have made it. He flew upward till he was hovering within two feet of Anna. "Well played." he said, with a smug smile.

He threw the Quaffle downward toward one of the large posts in the stands. Usually those things spelled a death trap, since hitting it meant potentially being knocked out, but he wasn't too worried.

Anna rolled her eyes with a bit of a smirk and met his hazel gaze with her own blue-gray one. 'You should know me better by now.' She was a good flyer, that much was apparent. She had an uncanny talent for coming out of obstacles most would find incredibly challenging, or at the very least bothersome.

Her smirk became more pronounced as she watched the realization flicker over his face. And then, she was certain, concern briefly danced in her eyes as he dove. 'Hmm. He'd make a decent seeker.' She thought.

"Why, thank you, sir." She responded, unsure of where she'd gotten "sir" from. 'It just sort of slipped out.' "I do try." However, her somewhat smug exterior deflated entirely when she saw his arm move and the quaffle went flying toward the goal posts. He was really testing her talent now, wasn't he?

Eyes narrowing and the adrenaline of a good challenge kicking in, she sped off after it. She wondered if using accio would be against the rules. 'Probably.' She amended. 'Anything affecting the quaffle directly would render my chances null, and therefore I'd lose.' The words, "affecting the quaffle directly" echoed in her mind. Another smirk blossomed across her features. Withdrawing her wand, she sent a mild current of air to hang below the goal posts. If she timed this just right....

Anna pulled up at the last second to avoid being crushed and dove again with hope that her half-cocked scheme would work. She couldn't catch the quaffle before it went through the hoops, but after? Now that was a different story. She could do it with a little luck and skill. She glanced up quickly to see the quaffle falling through the hoops, she inferred that Damian couldn't not put it through one of them, and got ready. She would only just make it!

Unfortunately for her, gravity had other ideas. Her arm swiped empty air.

Her blue eyes wide and her mouth open, she could only stare in astonishment as the quaffle fell to the ground. The sound of the dull thump it made when it contacted with the soil broke her out of her trance. In a bit of a left over daze, she floated down after it and gathered it up. With whatever dignity she still retained, she flew up and faced him, defeat etched across her features.

'Well,' she thought in anticipation of what she'd have to do, 'at least I'll know now.' After all, either way she'll know what she would've done. It was better this way, Anna decided after a moment of thought.
