Blue is for Nightmares is GREAT book.

I suggest:

Blood & Chocolate (can't remember the author >.<)
In The Forests of the Night (or anything by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes)
Tithe (Holly Black)

Yeah, but the book Blood & Chocolate is A LOT different from the movie

In The Forests Of The Night is a teen vamp book, there's a couple more byt her. Demon In My View is a good one by her as well

Tithe is a young adult book about the faerie courts (Seelie & Unseelie).

Books that young adult that are supernatural and good are:

Blood Bound by Patricia Briggs
Guilty Pleasure by Laurell K Hamilton
Kissing Sin- Keri Arthur

There's sex in the Keri Arthur book, and the other two are first books in a series that have sex in them later one. Just so you know >.<

The Hunters Moon by O.R. Melling
A young adult book that I have loved for years about two cousins who go looking for Faeries and find more then they bargained for. I recently discovered that this is the first book in a series. A quick read but I love it.

Orphans of Chaos, Children of Chaos, and Titans of Chaos by John C. Wright
A facinating series about five teenagers raised at an English boarding school who discover that not only do they themselves have extaordinary powers, thier teachers may be Gods keeping them imprisoned.
Lots of philosophy and mythology in these. And interesting concepts of time and space.

Deerskin by Robin McKinley
A retelling of a french fairy tale called Donkeyskin. This is a wonderful book but it does have some dark and mature themes. There is an instance of incestuous rape. Not for kids but still a book worth reading.
Really, any fairy tale by this author is awesome. Like The Rose Daughter (Beauty and the Beast), and Spindles End (Sleeping Beauty).

I love Robin McKinley! Try her anthology Door in the Hedge.

I happen to be a huge fan of Neil Gaiman. You hear a lot about American Gods but that's not one of my favorites. I would recommend Neverwhere. It's got a bit of Alice in Wonderland, and a little bit of Hitchiker's Guid to the Galaxy, and a dark, urban setting. A young man helps a girl in the street and ends up in a place called London Below. The place where the people who fall through the cracks in the world go. There's a lot of fun had with London place names having litereal meanings.
I'd also recommend Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. It's about the biblical apocolypse and it's hilarious.
