Russell kicked aimlessly at the ground as he waited. The tree above him was an old willow, the nymph too old and lazy to care that he was around. Him and Diana had found it when she had come back to Camp with him, hidden on the edge of the East forest, just before it reached the boundary. He caught glimpses of the sun in the sky and couldn't help but smile, that was his father's world up there. He slid down the trunk of the decrepit tree and continues to wait for his love. Diana and him hadn't seen each other much the past few days, they had both been so busy trying to keep their heads with moving back to Camp and what not. He didn't blame Diana, she had seemed off-color the past few times he'd seen her, worried and somewhat paranoid it seemed. Or maybe he was imagining it. Russell couldn't be sure anymore, she had become much more complex since she'd left the Hunt.
He waited patiently, they were due to meet a good half hour ago and Diana still hadn't shown herself. Maybe she had decided against meeting him, maybe this was her way of figuring things out. He still didn't understand it all, the whole mess he and Diana had found themselves in. He had so many questions to ask, but for the past year he had wisely held off. She always seemed touchy with the mention of Artemis or her sisters who had exiled her. She had good reason to be. With a sigh, Russell decided he should leave.

Diana rushed through the forest towards their meeting spot. She neared it and saw him walking off. Damn her bad timing. "Russell!" She called. "Wait." She came to a stop near him and grabbed his hand. "I'm sorry I'm late."She looked up at him. Her long dark brown hair was in a thick braid. Her hands had grease on them. "I lost track of time working on some things." She said.

With a smooth smile, Russell turned to Diana, keeping her hand in his. "I'd thought you'd forgotten me or something." His smile softened, "But it's good to see you so involved with things."

Diana smiled. "Yea, i guess. It keeps my mind off things." She stepped closer to him and leaned against him. "How was your day?" She asked.

"Just about the same as always. Boring for the most part. Patched up a few campers. Nothing too interesting though." Russell reached up and brushed a stray strand of hair from Diana's face, smiling down at her. "What about your day? No one tried to drop you in a forge, right?"

Diana shook her head. "No. I practiced my archery for a few hours, called the rez and talked to my dad and some old friends. Then, i went to the forge and have been working there ever since, just clearing my head." She smiled. "Come on, lets go walk." She pulled away and began through the trees, not letting his hand go.

Russell sighed, lacing his fingers through Diana's, trailing behind her effortlessly. He'd been wrong, and he was glad for that one fact; nothing would trouble his Diana, not while he could still breathe. With a small smile, he came to the conclusion that she was his Diana, that he wouldn't let someone snake between them and steal her.

Diana smiled and hummed quietly. She hated lying to him, telling him she was perfectly fine. But, she didn't want to worry him, and her troubles were her own, not his. "So, I was thinking, since it's summer and all, that, you could come back to the rez with me. I'm leaving tomorrow. Chrion and I discussed it and he's allowing me to go back to the rez for two weeks." She said, looking at him with her brown eyes.

He managed a smile once more, nervous now as he walked closer to Diana, letting his hand break from her's and slip around her waist. "You sure you want me to meet your father?" Russell locked eyes for a moment with Diana before returning his gaze to where they were headed.

Diana nodded. "My father, Eagle, Aaron, and Bear." She said, referring to the three men on the rez that were like her brothers. She looked up at him, noting his silence. "Listen, if yo don't want to, or do think you're ready it's okay." She said, not wanting to rush anything or screw this up. She'd given up almost everything for him, and she didn't want to loose him. So, she stood there, against him, watching and waiting for his reply.

"I'll only go if you want me too." Russell gently nudged Diana, smiling down at her. "I'd do anything for you. You know that. But I warn you, I'll run like a woman if your father gives me the Evil Eye."

Diana laughed and hugged him. "Okay. I'll be sure that he doesn't." She said, pulling away and taking his hand. "we should go talk to Chrion about it since I'm leaving in the morning." She began making her way towards the Big house. "So, nothing interesting went on today?"

"Not really. Just the usual mess." Russell glanced down at Diana, his face flashed with worry. "Why are you so curious about it?" They made their way through the thickest of the forest and now they broke into mostly open field. The Big House was in view.

Diana shrugged. "Just curious." She said, making her way to the house. She swa Chrion on the porch and waved, meeting him just off the porch. "Hey Chrion, is it okay if Russell comes with me to the rez?" She asked. "Please, it's really important to me, and you know Eagle will help protect us." She looked at Chrion, waiting for his answer.

Chiron shuffled his front hooves against the porch and thought about it for some time. He looked Russell over then smiled, "I don't see the harm in it. Eagle is a very capable young half-blood. I'll call him and let him know." Chiron disappeared back into the Big House.
Russell turned his grin on Diana, "Looks like it's a date." He pulled Diana into his arms and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead. "When should I be ready in the morning? And what do you suggest I bring?"
