I play saxophone (usually tenor, it was a terrible switch) and oboe as well as flute. I have heard that flautists who play another wind instrument hurt their embrochure and therefore their tone and tuning. I have played sax and oboe for about a year and haven't noticed very much of a different, but at the same time I haven't been practicing that much so my tuning may be from that. I was wondering is anyone else played other wind instruments and if they did notice a difference in their embrochure, or if anyone has ever even been told that it could hurt it. ((Also, if you have a flute teacher, can you ask him/her? The only friend of mine who has a flute teacher was practically forbidden not to learn sax, so while the rest of my measley flute section (me and a third girl) learned it, she learned piano.))
