I honestly think it's because the economy took a shiter and brought not ownly us but gaia down along with it. So gaia is basically hurting like most of us. What's your opinion? Or you posibly have a fact for us on why gaia did this?

If my Information Sources are correct, the CEO of Gaia said that Gaia still needs to "break even". Quote: In economics & business, specifically cost accounting, the break-even point (BEP) is the point at which cost or expenses and revenue are equal: there is no net loss or gain, and one has "broken even". A profit or a loss has not been made, although opportunity costs have been paid, and capital has received the risk-adjusted, expected return. Source : Wiki fin, Developer wrote this : Quote: Thanks for the direct feedback. We know these are controversial. We work with outside aggregators who negotiate and aggregate the deals. We actually investigated and rejected the largest company (that was the most enthusiastic about working with gaia) because they wouldn't let us actively filter out the poor deals. The company we're working with has more flexibility (not complete) to filter and we did a lot of filtering before we launched. Clearly not enough sad . Today we've gotten most of the ones that are causing problems off and still working on it tonight. We are still working our way to being break-even as a company and we believe that offering people another option to get items without paying gaia directly - as an option for those who are interested - is overall a good thing, that helps us cover more of our costs as well. But we have work to do still to make this program good overall. Seems Like "fin" is not a Developer, but the CEO himself (Craig Sherman)

BASH has something to say! They are being hurt with the economy, and many other social networking sites use those sort of offers as a revenue. Myspace Apps have you do things like this for points to use within their systems, such as TruthBox. I was fine with the Cash Shop. I was fine with the MTV partnership. I was fine with the advertisements. But this time, Gaia has gone too far. SAVE OUR SITE.

I agree I say I understand they need help to stay up but this is going too far, by doing this they are causing potential harm to their supporters. This I find intolerable. Also that they think we would be stupid enough not to notice that this is a big scam, insulting to my intelligence as well as the intelligence of my fellow Gaians!

Because it makes a ton of money. I looked at just 14 offers, which ranged from 17~200 dollars in cash, and added up how much money was generated in the past hour. I assumed that Gaia makes at least the amount they give out, and the amount of people completing it in the past hour was accurate. From ONLY those 14 offers, they've made $40,634.
Of course, this is all speculation. They might make more or less, and the number of people who have completed it might be wrong. I could see them fluffing up the numbers to make it seem more trustworthy. Unfortunately, if it is accurate, the only reason they have to stop is for the safety of their users.

Really, I can't find a better reason.

apparently, America's economy is going down, fast. everyone would like to earn a little bit of extra cash. but that does not mean it's ok to throw us users in and use us a pawns and exploit us like they are now.
