I'm not sure D: I only have one meat, so I never really pay attention since most of my other fishies make the hearts. (Well, except my Penguin and Narwhal who hate being fed apparently.)

My settings are at natural light, O' Lighthouse, and moderate temperature. All of my fish give hearts. Except for my hermit cat.

I keep mine on natural light and chilly, and I switch the music daily between Kelp and Reef Riff. They seem to like it fine.
I did notice, back before they got big, the hearts appeared a distance away from the watermeat. They may just be camouflaging themselves as someone else's heart.

Watermeats like natural light, hot, moderate, chilly or freezing temperature and O' Lighthouse, Ballad of the Overseer, Calm Water, Coral Love or Kelp! as music.Lila likes black light, boiling, moderate or freezing and Seashell Shock, O' Lighthouse, Kelp! or Calm Water.Memphis likes natural light, hot, moderate or chilly temperature and The Conch Song, Ballad of the Overseer, Coral Love, Kelp! or Calm Water as music.Hermit cats like black light, moderate, chilly, or freezing temperature and The Conch Song or Reef Riff as theme song. The common mistake is to think that Lila and Memphis like the same settings, which is totally false (exept maybe for the music). So, for Watermeat + Lila :Black (Lila brings more happiness), mod or freezing temp, and O' Lighthouse, Kelp! or Calm Water as music. Watermeat + Memphis :Natural light, mod or chilly temp, Ballad of the Overseer, Coral Love, Kelp! or Calm Water. Watermeat + both mermaids :Natural light, moderate temperature, Kelp! or Calm Water music. Hope this helps. 3nodding

Watermeat Initial Happiness: 12000 Maximum Happiness: 40000 Life Expectancy: 25 weeks (175 days) Booty Grab Trigger: Unlisted (from what people say, Pretty Often?) Preferred Light: Natural Preferred Temperature: Hot, Moderate, Chilly, Freezing Preferred Music: O' Lighthouse, Ballad of the Overseer, Calm Water, Coral Love, Kelp!
In Natural light, they're happy with any song if their temperature is set to Hot, Moderate, Chilly, or Freezing. In Natual light, they're happy in Boiling water if their music is set to O' Lighthouse, Ballad of the Overseer, Calm Water, Coral Love, or Kelp! In Black light, they're happy in Hot, Moderate, Chilly, or Freezing water if their music is set to O' Lighthouse, Ballad of the Overseer, Calm Water, Coral Love, or Kelp! In Black light, they're unhappy with any song if their temperature is set to Boiling. Note: With three preferences met, their Happiness increases by 32. Note: With two preferences met, their Happiness increases by 16.
o 3o When I first tested the watermeat when it first came out, I initially thought that it didn't like or dislike anything, cause I didn't see a bubble of any sort show up for any setting - but once I removed all the other fish from my tank and left it alone, I found that it did like certain things. The reason why the heart bubble doesn't seem to show on the watermeat is because when it does show, it shows up like far away from where the watermeat was floating, so I was confusing it with another fish's heart. :] I can also assure you that this information is 100% accurate.
Hope I helped ^ ^
Lilas like Black light. They share the same like for moderate or freezing temperatures, and o'light house + kelp for music. (They both also like Calm Water, but that song has been disabled) This is where you have to choose who you want the happiest. Lilas are low maintenance and reach their max happy level quickly. Watermeat on the other hand will never reach its max happy level no matter how hard you try, so I suggest you keep the lighting on Natural.

I don't have a watermeat but my cuttle fish won't show a heart when I feed my fish, so he pretty much hates me neutral
