A murder of a dignitary sent the government on a goose chase into the Yakuza's secret life. tearing through all of the Yukaza families as if they were nothing. The news networks covered with the pictures of dead members of the secret families as one by one they all fell. That was until someone ratted out the eldest of the families. The only true Yukaza family left in japan form the days after world war II. Will the family find the rat in time? When they find them what will the do? Or will the encroaching hand of the government and law enforcement destroy them where they stand? This is the story of those who chose to fight for freedom from oppression by any means necessary.
The family all lives upon its ancestral grounds now. Its elders hoping to keep an eye on every one of its members to find out who put the family into harms way. The grounds are large enough to give them space but small enough to keep them enclosed while they are not out working.

The Beast Agito Kajiura

Agito sighed softly under his breath as he looked up from his book as he sat down in the living room. His mind thinking about his day at work after someone tried making off with a million yen leaving a paper trail that lead back to him. He had to do a lot of talking to get himself off the hook buying him time to either put the money back or find the person that had taken it. He glanced up not seeing her anywhere in sight but he knew she was around somewhere. having always kept on eye on her after that night, having strange feelings between them since they saw the ink in each others flesh. Always wondering what her true thoughts where now that they 'could not' be with each other but live in the same house, something that always felt strange. He shook the ideas from his head as he glanced over towards the kitchen wondering what exactly she would be making for dinner that night.
He leaned forward placing the book on the table in front of him before gliding up to his feet smoothing out his black pants before he adjusted his glasses up right. He wore them only for the look they gave him, he had perfect vision but making his prey think other wise was a trick he rather enjoyed. Slowly he made his way into the kitchen his eyes falling on her right away. Taking in the sight of her soft curves he could not help but smirk a little before he made his way to her side glancing down and over to her before he reached forward to help her with anything simple he could get his hands on. Often using his help with the food to make sure she did not try and slip anything into it to kill him. He smiled softly before he turned walking over to the fridge reaching into the far back corner pulling out the newest bottle of sake before walking it over towards their table, placing it down in the middle of the table before he reached to the side grabbing two drinking glasses off the shelf and put one of either end before adjusting his glasses again to his face.
"How was work?' he asked her knowing even if one of them got fired for some dumb reason they would be able to manage with out mush trouble. he just worked to keep a clean lifestyle away from their other job. Wanting to have a world to hide in if things ever got to rough for the Yukaza families where an alibi would be their best friends. "I got accused of embezzling a million yen." his voice was calm as he thought about a well placed bomb in the corner of the building would get him off the hook and make a nice show.

Introducing : Kitsune Shizunito a.k.a Mrs. Smith
The lives of the luxurious appealed to everyone. According to the deed, they were Mr. and Mrs. Smith; two elegant businesspeople with strong views and good looks. They moved into the penthouse not two years earlier, and they lived a quiet life on the top of Tokyo’s prettiest apartment complex. Every morning she would wake up and go to the same work, the same lame office with the same breath taking views. Every day she would eat lunch at the same restaurant, chat with the same coworkers, and take a private drive home. However, on some days, some days like today, she would enter the lobby of her apartment building and think ‘I want to eat in tonight.’ It was then that she went to her penthouse suite, walked into the main hallway, but her coat and bags away, and walked into the main foyer. She took a deep breath, and as she did whenever she was alone, she spun around on her expensive high heels to take in the whole place. She then walked to the kitchen, and pulled out impressive cook books. This young beauty waltzed her way to the couch, slid into the comfortable leather, and flipped through the book. She closed her eyes, and put her finger on a random page. She opened her eyes and smiled.
Fine Chinese Cuisine it was.
In the flick of the green send button, she had a personal driver out for the ingredients, and in that time, she washed the kitchen down and preheated the oven for the cooking she would do. Surely she was no Betty Crocker, but she could certainly put together many dishes. When the ingredients were graciously delivered, she tipped the young man a good sum of money, and returned to her working kitchen. She started on the meal and by the time she heard her ‘husband’ enter, she was halfway done. She didn’t greet him; they hardly spoke for the first half hour of the evening. When he entered, she followed him with her eyes, and when he settled at his nest on the living room setting, she only glanced at him occasionally. She began to stir fry the ingredients and cook the rice her own way, and it was then she heard him move. She waited for him to come behind her before she took in his smell and actually make eye contact with him. When he asked how her day went, she noticed he had taken the new bottle of sake out of the fridge. She put out a plate for him and a plate for herself, and walked into the dining room.
“My day was…wait, one Million Yen?”
Mrs. Smith was always careful about how she spent her dealings and money. She never liked to hear the words embezzlement and I in the same sentence. She knew that they were safe here, but, she never liked the thought of causing too much trouble for the two of them. She set his place, and when he sat down at the table, she ran her hands across his shoulders and said “I’m sure you’ll be able to pull their strings out of this one. If not…I’ve got a good view of the office from here.” She winked at him as she walked back to her seat, and sat down. Their glasses matched, and it looked like they were ready for a black tie party. She had a sleek little black dress on, and he had his office clothes, but together they were official and couture enough to rock the runways of Paris or Milan. She ate with him, and when they were done, she formally took his plate and worded “I’ll meet you in the living room.” She put the plates in the dishwasher, and washed her soft hands before she sat beside him on the couch. She had turned the fireplace on earlier in the evening.
It was the few moments that she wished she could undress him again.
She put the glass to her lips and drank quietly. She turned her head to look at him and raised her glass “To living life.” She said the common toast she said daily to him. She was close to him, but it was the same closeness she always had with him. They drank their sake, and she set down the glass with the bottle on the table. “So, one million yen... How’d you pull that one off?” She asked, fixing his hair out of his eyes. This was no lie, her hearing and eye sight were impeccable, and she knew that he had been working out some kind of deal. He liked being adventurous with comfortable living more then she liked it. She wasn’t called the fox for nothing. In fact, Mrs. Smith wasn’t even a smith at all. She had never met any smith’s, nor ever had the intentions of marrying a smith. Her real name was Kitsune Shizunito, a master spy for the yakuza, an honored woman in the field, a legend to be. Sitting in with her was her partner, Sir Agito Kajiura, the dashing animal that good kill you with a wink of his eye. And yet, they were tame together. He was wild, she was sophisticated and mature. They were better then anyone ever could be. So such a toast that they had almost every night was an honor to their glory that they had earned.

The Beast Agito Kajiura

As they ate he could not help but remind himself how much he hated how she dressed around him. Always showing him everything he wanted but nothing he could have. He smiled softly up to her from his plate telling her that she had cooked a good meal as always before he looked down at the plate and slowly finished off the food she had given him. His eyes keeping a lock on hers as well as a guy could who was looking down at his plate most of the meal. Making sure she would not know he was doing so, like he did every time they ate in. He gave her a nod as she took their plates to take them away wondering exactly what was going on in her mind.
He stood up from his chair grabbing the two cups and the bottle of sake he had on the table before he maid his way into the living room placing the bottle and to cups down on the table as he sat back into the couch. With a quick tug on his tie it undid its self now hanging on wither side of his neck allowing him to breath more easily, taking in a breath before he undid the top button. He always dressed up for dinner no matter where they were eating at unless a job required them to bled in. He hated havin to blend in, he would much rather just toss a few bombs in the crowd and then check the bodies to see if he had gotten the right people everyone else would just be extra fun to him.
He sighed softly reaching up filling both glasses with the sweet sake just before she joined him. His eyes looking her over with a smile as he sat back his glass in hand before he lifted his glass slightly to the toast before he started on his first glass of sake. "I wish I had taken it, some lucky a** took it while we were switching banks this past week and left a few documents on my desk." he said as he took another sip from his glass before he reached up removing his glasses and placing them down on the table before he looked into the flames the fire reflecting into his blue eyes. "I will find out who did it and make sure he returns the money. break a few fingers if needed. The normal scare tatics." he said to her before he placed the glass on the table and then slid all the way back in the seat noticing how good she looked in the fire it room. he gave a soft sigh before he closed his eyes. "Anything new with you or the others?

Introducing : Kitsune Shizunito a.k.a Mrs. Smith
Kitsune set her glass down, and slid back with him, her face pondering how to answer the question. “Well, this peculiar letter came in for me this morning at work. It was from the elders. They said there was something of dire matters to be discussed with the entire family. They request our presence on the 6th.” She said, looked up him as he stared into the fire. “But…you know that I’m not usually one to be in trouble or have anything new going on. I like hearing your crazy stories though.” She said, laughing quietly. She put her hand on his chest, and said “If you need help finding the man who took your money just call me at work and I’ll find him for you. I’ve got enough time nowadays to sleep an extra eight hours during the day if I wanted to.” She said. Kitsune purposely stayed highly low on the ladder. She wanted to attract enough attention to herself that almost no attraction was drawn to her at all. She just wanted to be paid good money.
In order to make herself more comfortable, she unzipped her dress a little.
In a matter of an hour, she was curled up on the couch with him, talking about what plans they were going to make for a vacation sometime somewhere once the weather was warmer. They always had something nice to talk about after all the s**t that they had to go through in their normal lives. Kitsune began to tell him about a man at work who won’t leave her alone. Even though they weren’t really married, Agito sometimes acted like her real boyfriend or husband; it was times like those that she respected him the most. Kitsune drank a few glasses of sake, but stopped before she felt woozy or drunk. She didn’t want him to have to carry her to the bedroom down the hall. Kitsune was intent on listening to him, and at the same time, she felt drawn to him. She wanted this to be something that was real, but, it was her job to be calm and collected and a marriage was simply not something that could be calm and collected when it involved the mafia. The warmth of the fire and the darkness of all the other rooms kept her near him.
“So, I got you a present.”
Usually when she said this, it was something that revolved around his eventual death. But this time, she wasn’t going to try and kill him with her Christmas present. She was going to be nice if he would allow it. She reached over, and put on his glasses, looking at him with a grin. She looked educated like that, but, it didn’t look bad. Kitsune often did this for comic relief on more romantic evenings.

The Beast Agito Kajiura

As he sat there he could not help but make a note on how she mentioned a man giving her a hard time down at her work. He planned on going down there in the next few days on his lunch break and sneak into a small room with her or something along those lines to put a damper on the mans day. He smiled softly letting her know he would be stopping by to help her with the issue. Keeping up the image that they were married was something he felt they really should do, it kept them safe and away from unwanted eyes such as other boyfriends or girlfriends.
He had drank a few more glasses of the drink,a few more then she did like every night they spent sitting there talking to each other. The space between them shrinking with each glass they emptied. He mentioned a few beach resorts for ideas for their vacation, mostly because he felt that the sounds of the sea would be relaxing for them. Time out of the big city and away from the guns and death, letting the water wash away the blood from their bodies. When they went on their little trips he felt the safest around her knowing she would not dare try to take his life while they were trying to get away from such lives.
"A present?" he asked her softly knowing very well that he would have to be careful when accepting such a gift from her but smiled none the less as he let his ears open. A soft smile coming to his face as she put his glasses on her face. he reached over and pushed them up right snug against the bridge of her nose before he realized he would have to go out and shop for Christmas gifts for her and the family. He often got her some kind of poison or gun for her to try to use on him. Figuring she got the best thrill when she tried to take his life from him. "Its a little early for that. 21 days early." he smield as he placed his hand on her thigh before reaching down towards the bottle putting the cork back into the neck before turning and giving her his total attention.

Life is ||✖ ✖ ✖|| "I don't get why you had me eat so many cherries and apricots." Naosu whined to the empty room. It wasn't that he wouldn't have done it for his sister, it was just that he did not understand why she would have him eat so much and not help him at all. Unless it was for the cyanogenetic glycosides content within them. That made more sense. But she never asked him to do it for her so quickly and so suddenly. Because he was so used to her random ways, he knew that she probably wanted them separated. Though it was more work, he had fun with the apricots more then the cherries. Once he had a small piles of the pits of the apricots (though he did cheat a bit and had some of the house hold helpers eat some) he dug out the seeds and began to grind them down with the traditional mortar and pestle. He loved using them because they were easy to wash and there was less of a chance of cross contamination. Umi already knew that he would grind it down and everything -she had even left empty containers for him. It was almost as if she could read his mind... No fair.
It wasn't fair at all. How could Master Sonkei; or rather dad try to even talk about dispersing the entire family? They were already underground and all they had to do was find the rat which had ended up killing their uncle. Or at least Umi thought that that person was their uncle. She wasn't too sure now. Fuming to herself, she pouted and hugged Taki tightly to her chest. It wasn't fair! The Yukaza were strong! Where were the days in which they were untouchable!? The government did not control them; no they controlled the government. Why couldn't her father see that? Wasn't that why they had to red through those pounds of history? To see how great their faction could be? All it needed was to be free of old blood and bring in the new blood. Maybe that was the only solution to this age old problem. The books seemed to chronicle the downfall of the Yukaza year by year. They were suppose to grow stronger, not weaker. It frustrated her. What was the meeting on the sixth about though!? Was he really going to tell the Yukaza to lay low for a few years? What good would that do? They would be picked off one by one just like sitting ducks. Pouting she crossed her arms over her chest. There should not be any wasted life in the Yukaza. The Yukaza were an intelligent fearless faction. There would be no wasted sickness and no death.
Death was what he was pouring gingerly into the bottles, he knew it well. More or less because he would almost eat too much and get tummy aches from almonds. The bitter almonds. He was trying to build up a tolerance to poisons. It was actually recommended within the Yukaza. Or at least in his position as a son. "I just finished both batches." "I think you actually overdid yourself..." Umi commented on the two vials of cherry and the four of apricot shaking her head at her ridiculously funny and sweet brother. He had already moved onto something else. Lingering nearby, she saw that he was trying to make a new concoction with the ditch grenades. Hopefully they would work. The last one he tried, he just made a big mess. It worked like a regular grenade, but that was not the result that he had wanted."Let's train."Umi annouced looking at the time. There was enough time to spend with her brother before she would give her father some tea. She had already told her father that she would make a new mixture for him. Walking back to her room and closing the door that connected their two rooms together, she was glad that they lived in a spacious traditional house. Shedding off clothes, she picked a simple shirt and pants to wear, Naosu was probably doing the same. Though they could fight in any clothes, they both preferred the simple clothes to practice in. Grabbing her a belt, she put on the Sai and kurisagama. They would probably practice more hand to hand combat. Walking to the training hall with Taki in her arms she figured that Naosu was probably wrapping extra bandages around his wrists just in case somebody got hurt. Setting down Taki once she got inside she stretched and pulled a Sai up to block.
Jumping back from the failed attack Naosu drew his twin blades in an offensive position and ran at Umi again. Shoulder, neck, knee. They were open but he wasn't throwing any projectiles this time around. She fell to the ground and swept the floor with her leg bringing a spinning Sai to follow her leg. The twins were almost evenly matched in both speed and power. Naosu was a bit stronger, but Umi was faster. After an hour of heavy sparring Umi won by feigning injury and catching Naosu off gaurd. Naosu scratched the back of his neck. Umi always won that way, always cheated, except for that one time where she had actually gotten hurt and tripping over own feet a few years ago. Naosu disinfected and wrapped the small cut she had given in. They always sparred till first blood.
It would be bloodless. Forget the apricot and the cherries that Umi had had Naosu so kindly grind up for her. It would taste funny in the tea. She would use Eucalyptus. It had a friendly smell and it would taste good in tea. Maybe a bit of Eucalyptus and the rest would be Yellow Jasmine. The tea would taste bitter, just like her father. And that was the way he liked his tea too."I hope you enjoy your tea."Umi set down the tea in front of her onto the table in front of her father. Nestling down and allowing the dress she changed into to flow about her she held onto Taki tightly."How was the tea?"she asked with charm and a sweet smile after her father had finished the cup. Unfortunately for him, he would not be able to speak, not until the effects wore off at least. "Now that I have your attention father," honestly it was hard being the daughter of one of the oldest syndicates in Japan, father just never paid any heed to what his children did Umi and Naosu basically raised themselves, "What you are doing to the Yukaza is shameful and our ancestors are probably turning in their graves. The Yukaza are not people to give up and run with their tails between their legs. We are people who should be respected and feared in the underground and not be hunted by the government; but to have the government be at our call. The Yukaza that you have shown me is one that I do not want to be a part of if it is so weak and full of holes... You should be able to move around after a few hours, please think of what I have just said." Walking out clutching Taki protectively to her she let out a breath of fresh air. That was the first time she ever stood up to her father; however, she could not shake off the foreboding feeling that something else bad was going to happen.
"Umi... Is something wrong?" Naosu yawned through half opened eyes. Umi was hovering in between their doorway. Silently Naosu scooted over to a side of his bed, making room for his sister to sleep. They always did this when there was something bothering the other. Naosu would not have to ask her, Umi would tell him in the morning.
If only they had that regular morning and they did not wake up to a great change.
"The body of Sonkei Kudaranai was found at 3:47 in the morning by a maid in the library. There was an empty cup of tea laid to rest nearby and no signs of a struggle. There was no blood split and forensics say that at his time of death, he was aware of his surroundings but his muscles were in rigor mortis prior to his death. It is not conclusive what the exact cause of death was, but it seems to be a poison of sorts. The family will lay the body to rest on the next fortunate day in the lunar calender. Which happens to rest on the 6th of this month. The two children are said to inherit everything from the father and splitting the items accordingly. Not much is known about Mister Sonkei, except that he has political power. The family seems to be very strict about the mourners they let in and will not comment on his death. The children have been kept out of the public eye and we are not sure on their condition. And for now, that is the six o'clock news. We will have more when we return at 10 o'clock."
