When they go to the pool DeeDee decided to shed off her one peice terry-cloth outfit and sandal and put them in a bag before putting on sun screen and her sun glasses and then laying out on a lounge chair. She had on a binki and her belly was exposed including her tattoo. She looked over at Jade and smiled, "So, why won't you either use your power or a cain to help you get around better and yes before you ask. I know. Go get mad or anything. I figured it on my own. You think you are good at hiding it, but to a well train observer, you are not. Sorry dear, please don't take this the wrong way, it just upsets me when i see that you need help but don't want to take any. You are at a school full of people who are willing to help you and you are, for the lack of a better term, either to blind or too stubborn to take it. Especially from me. I thought we had something stronger, beyond your typical friendship."

Jade frowned and sat on a lawn chair near DeeDee, she stared blankly at the pool. "In the human world and in my experience, if someone knows you can't see, they treat you like you can't do anything on your own," she explained. "But I can, I count my steps and when no one is around, I use the water to see, but even then it is all a haze, like when you dive under water with goggles on. It's all blurry," she sighed. "I don't want everyone to think that they have to help me. I knew what it was like when I could see. I knew a kid who was blind, and I felt that I had to help him with everything. Now, I am blind, but I am not disabled, I am not handicapped and I can do things like pour my own drink, even though sometimes I misjudge the counter space," she continued as she recalled the recent events in the kitchen." She glanced at DeeDee and a stream of water from the pool followed her gaze, it crept up to the girl and danced around her. "I can't use my power like this...It makes many feel too uncomfortable, but I can't see anything otherwise."

DeeDee looked at her and sigh, "No one will think less of you if you have to use your power to see or anything and it's okay if you need help to ask for it. You shouldn't feel bad. People are here to help over people." Then she took a hold of Jade's hand.

Jade let DeeDee take her hand and a surge of unknown feeling swept through her. "It's not that easy...you can say that until you are blind. I did," she said sadly. "I don't want it and if people figure it out, well good for them. But I won't tell them, and neither will you. I am blind but I am not disabled, I can and will do things that everyone else does. Because I have allowed myself to be blind, though hidden, I have memorized everything. I have a system to get me places. My hearing and smell are heightened. The only others that know are my teachers and those here before I was. But the newer students do not know, and I have been here for some time now, DeeDee." She paused. "You can't account for everyone just because you do not think little of me, you are one of the few." Deep inside of her, she knew that one day, one day everyone would find out, and she would dread it. It was her fear, to be made dependent on others because she was blind.

Jade let the water that she used from the pool, wander back to it. "I am not helpless," she said, quietly, but almost angrily. "I have done well enough for the past few years. I don't even need a walking stick anymore. So what if I got turned around last night and broke a glass this morning, that stuff happens to anyone, blind or not." She realized that some of her words were hurtful but she was not helpless.

DeeDee sat up and removed her glasses and looked at her, "I know you are not helpless, but that doesn't mean I can't help you. There are things that even a seeing person needs help on, like things in regards to love and friendship."

Jade's face turned red. "I...I'm sorry," she quickly appologized. "When people speak of helping me when they know...they never mean it like that. They want to help me find my class or find my way around the halls like I haven't lived here for a few years." Suddenly she was ashamed of herself.

DeeDee smiled a little, "Well, I can still help you there too if you even need it and not because you are blind, but because school is hard. Trust me. I have problems in math right now, but Scott and Alex are good tutors. However, my French is flawless! It better be concerting..." she giggled at the last part.

Jade smiled. "I would love a friend," she said, still the undeniable red covered her face. The feeling still hadn't gone away and she wasn't sure that she was comfortable with how she felt. It didn't seem okay.

DeeDee noticed her red face, "Okay, what's up and don't say nothing. Remember I bite," she said transforming her teeth to her dog teeth as bit of a joke/half-truth.
(Okay I know I said she can't transform while pregnant or wet, but I think I will change it to not everything can transform while in those states.)

Jade immedeatley forced her face back to normal color. "I am just so sorry for assuming you meant to help me like everyone else that knows has tried."

DeeDee changed her teeth back, "I was joking about the biting part and why do I feel there is more to that than what you telling me?" she still had a hold of Jade's hand.
