 Yugure was relaxing in the shade fully calm for once. He hadn't been suspicious of anything recently and was giving credit to that to Starla. Even since the first time he met her, he had opened up a bit and wasn't so cynical.
He was currently thinking about Starla and was wondering what she was doing. Little did he know that she was on her way and was quite upset.

Quite upset was an understatement. Starla was furious at the male and she had her low hanging stomach to thank for her added emotions. If anyone looked deep into her though they would notice that Starla was secretly glad that it was indeed Yugure that had gotten her pregnant and not some other male. The male had intelligence and they seemed to match each other in their personalities as well. She felt some kind of connection with him but that might be the pups in her belly talking. Thinking of the pups made her feel a huge surge of mixed emotions. Happiness that she'd finally have a family, anger that Yugure had let her guard down enough to get her pregnant and worry that Yugure would turn her and the pups down.

Still oblivious to the 'threat' of Starla, Yugure was just getting up from relaxing. He was going to practice running through the trees, like Starla had suggested, for when he ran with his sister next. He was just about to go when a strange scent hit him. He sniffed the air to double check but it still smelled the same..... it smelled like Starla only not. How was that possible?

She could smell him. Although he was much closer then she thought. In fact Starla thought it would still be awhile and so she was very surprised when she came from behind a tree and right in front of her was the cause for her distress. Just staring at him she felt her pulse race with adrenaline that if someone knew about she'd lie and say was caused by her anger rather then any version of love. Quickly Starla was snapped out of her staring by movement in her belly and she remembered why she was here. Stomping up to him, as well as a pregnant helix can, she wore the most pissed off expression and her eyes pierced him in a glare. "Do you realize what you've done?!"

Yugure's head whipped towards Starla as she walked out near him. "Sta....." He started to say noticing her swollen belly. His eyes grew huge as he found the reason for the difference in her scent. She was pregnant! "........" He remained silent for a moment in shock before falling back into his defensive, cynical mode, "What I've done?! What makes you say that you can blame me for your present condition?! It was your fault I let down my guard and got close to you! Besides who's to say they're mine? They're probably some other guy's pups that you're using one the orders of them to tie me down so they can strike!" He huffed and puffed after his little rant and immediately saw how foolish that plot sounded...... although he would never admit it.

Oh that did it! Though she had decided to keep a hold of her emotions while she confronted Yugure his attack had wounded her more then she'd care to admit, especially in front of her attacker.
"HOW DARE YOU!" She seethed at him her eyes snapping in rage. "I trusted you so much I allowed my guard to fall when I was around you! What makes me say I can blame you?! You're the only guy I had lain with since I got pregnant! That's why I blame you! Them again! For Helkies sake I have nothing to do with them and you know very well I'll have NOTHING to do with them so long as I breathe in air! These are our pups, OURS. Not just mine, not just yours OURS and until you come to realize this then there's no further point of me being here!"
She had meant to sound angry, enraged, furious with no other emotions attached and yet somehow pain and hurt still managed to find there way into her voice showing how much of an impact his accusation had made on her.

Yugure took Starla's vocal attack while lowering his ears and tail. Once she was done he kept quiet for a moment before looking up at her. "I-I'm sorry. I didn't know that you haven't been with some other guy...... I mean look at you! You're young and beautiful and just what all the guys are looking for!" He said sounding depressed, "Why should you be with me when you can have someone better, someone who's not paranoid." He then hung his head knowing that he felt something for Starla and their future children.

All of her anger dissipated in an instant, Starla partially thanked the hormones but most of the rage left the instant he called her beautiful. Getting closer to him Starla let her tail brush against his tail as she nuzzled the side of his face affectionately. "Why should I be with you? Because I love you. No matter how many times you accuse me of helping them." It was the truth and Starla realized that if she wasn't with Yugure then she would be with no one else because he was the only one for her. "Yugure I have traveled to different territories. I have met helixes from every place you can imagine and there is no one better then you. I've looked but none have come even close." Wagging her tail slightly she hoped he believed her cause for once in her life Starla didn't have a backup plan.

Yugure slowly raised his head when he felt her tail against his. His eyes grew wide as she nuzzled his face and then they grew soft and full of love. He rubbed his head against the top of hers. "...... I...... I...." He was unable to convoy his feeling of joy that she loved him and would always love him, "I...... I can't believe anyone would say that to me. .........But I'm happy that you're saying it." He smiled softly and wagged his tail slowly.

His eyes. They drew her in and she found herself lost in them. So compassionate, so loving, so smart. How could she not love this male? It was impossible that she knew and her smile widened with each word he uttered. "I'm glad you're happy." But she wasn't the mushy type. That was Ama not her. So it was no surprise when she got serious again. Looking at Yugure she knew she would regret this next decision but it had to be done. "Yugure what are we going to do?" There was no panic in her voice. No trace of pain or nervousness. It was just the question that needed to be answered but that couldn't be answered by one helix alone. They had to make a decision. Together.

He stared directly into her eyes knowing that she could see his feelings for her in them. He smiled at her first words but it faded at her question. "Do you really have to ask?" He said giving her an irritated look, "It's easy. I'm going to be here for you and the puppies when they come. ....... If you don't mind you can come live here and we can be a family..... and maybe even find a pack together."

Family.....family and a pack. He was offering her a life that she always wanted but could never have. Starla had thought that she might never attain that life and now thanks to a silly mistake that she had thought would be her ruin Starla now had a family. "I want to live here with you Yugure. The only helixes who have ever been like family to me live here so this place is more home to me then my territory." Feeling the pups move in her belly Starla knew they agreed that this would be their home.
((Should I have Starla start going into labor in my next post?))

Yugure smiled lightly at what she said. "Good..... I'm glad you'll stay here with me." He said looking at her. Noticing something on her face he tilted his head. "Are the....... are the puppies moving? Nothings wrong right?"

Smiling Starla winced lightly as the pups seemed to move once again. Weird they've never moved in such quick succession before. "I'm sure everything's fine, the pups just seem to be very excited that their father is so close to them, that's all." She really hoped that was all. Deciding that a rest was in order Starla sat on her haunches letting her tail do its normal habit of twitching slightly as her back legs spread wider to allow her swollen belly to relax comfortably as another pain induced twinge caused Starla to rethink that everything was ok.
((I think having her slowly realize whats happening would be best. She'll try to somehow warn Yugure but it'll probably be too late XD))

((Ah. Shall be wonderful to see him freak out. XD))
Yugure sighed in relief. "Oh that's all." He said before it sunk in that he was going to be a father and that his kids already recognized him, "I can't believe I'm going to be a father." He walked up to where she sat down and sat down next to her. "You look so weird having to sit like that." He said starting to frown, "Are you sure everything is okay?"
