History: Ericka was born and raised in Liezemburg, a small town to the east, residing directly on the border of Amestris and Ishbal. But, both of her parents were killed in the bombing of Liezemburg when she was four. She was sent to East City to live with her uncle, who was a colonel in the military. When she was nine, Ericka's uncle was called to duty to put down the rebellion in Ishbal. With no choice, he took his neice with him. Ericka actually didn't mind being in the middle of a war zone, and made many friends with many of the younger soldiers. She even made friends with an orphaned Ishbalan girl, and assisted in her escape of the region before it was sealed off. However, in the insuring fight and genocide, many Ishbalan warriors confiscated grenades from the military and bombarded them with their own weapons. Unfortunately, Ericka was caught in the blast radius, which caught her right arm and subjected it to first degree burns. It was amputated to save her life. Her uncle had no choice but to send her home to Liezemburg. When she was eleven, a neighbor, whom she was living with, sent her to Rush Valley with money for automail surgery. Three years later, when she was fourteen, she left Rush Valley and began to travel, looking for an alchemy teacher. In Dublith, she began to train under Izumi Curtis. There she trained until she was fifteen, when her uncle wrote a letter of reccomendation to the Fuhrer President about letting her become a State Alchemist. He agreed, and she took the test and passed, taking the title 'Whitewood'. However, two months later, her uncle was murdered. She became close friends with the Elric Brothers, but later distanced herself from the military.
Other: Ericka is kind and caring, and extremely loyal to her friends. She has a tattoo on her left shoulder that allows her to use alchemy without the need to draw a circle on the ground. She is also the first female alchemist of the State. She also knows the Elric's and Rockbell's from early childhood, since she and her uncle stopped over on the town on their way to Ishbal.
Personality: Ericka is very brash and headstrong, and likes to mouth off to her commanding officers. She also is slightly below the average height for her age, but just shrugs it off, unless someone makes a particularly nasty comment over it. She also is very, very loyal to all of her friends, and will do anything to protect them. It is considered her fatal flaw. She can be very hypercritical at times, especially when it concerns human transmutation.
