Chapter 1

Vanessa awoke to stunning lightning and harsh thunder. She sat up and looked out her window, it was larger than her bed. There was the whirling and winding wind of a violent tornado, over in the pasture. She ran to her younger brother's room and carried him into the basement, where they would be safe. Where is mom? She asked herself. She set her brother in his extra crib. She darted up the stairs and ran to her mother's room. It wasn't storming, but instead there was a beautiful sunrise right where there should've been a fire from lightning. Was it just a dream? She could have sworn she had seen it, but it wasn't there. She went back to her room to try and figure this mess. When she looked out here window, she saw all the rubble and dust, but she didn't see the storm. She was about to go get her brother when she had a thought, What if somebody got hurt! Vanessa ran outside, straight to the rubble of what used to be a pasture. She heard a faint help coming from what seemed a distance.

Chapter 2

Vanessa ran as guickly as she could to the voice. She had run so fast she felt like the wind. "Where are you?" She yelled, panicing quietly. "Over here." A male voice barely called from below. She had been standing on him and didn't even realize it. She stepped to the side and started digging. When she finally found a head, she wondered how he had managed to be heard with how deeply covered he was. "How long was I out?" He asked, then he opened his eyes.

When somebody had finally dug out his head, he opened his eyes, expecting it to be dark and raining, but the sun was brilliant and there was no rain, it actually looked more like a desert than a victim to a tornado. "I don't know, I just found you here. That storm was so wierd. One moment it was here, then it was gone!" A slightly familiar voice said. He couldn't see far enough out to see a face, but he did see a shadow, which he was greatful for because it was pitch black under the rubble and powdery dust which made his eyes unused to the light. The dust was a thick sheet over the rubble, and it was only making breathing harder. "Who are you?" The voice chimed, it sounded like bells. He was trying to remember his name. Did I hit my head? He was very surprised that he couldn't think of his name. The bells gasped, "Did you hit your head?" She said, concerned and half surprised. "Can you get me out before I answer anymore questions?" He asked, then coughed. The dust seemed to be getting even worse than it was before. He couldn't move anything but his mouth and eyes, and there was so much rubble it was like a tunnel to him. Darkness was surrounding him. A head apeared, but then everything disapeared but it's gentle eyes. He couldn't feel anything except for his head; he assumed that it was because of the heavy waste.
