Having been promoted to the new Captain, I find that it's my job to tell all members the ideas that I am currently thinking.
1. When the new years starts, all previous posts in the roleplay will be deleted, and the roleplay will begin anew. Thus, we can start over, without really starting over.
2. The Professor Program will be deleted. It's irritating, a hassle, and takes away from the roleplay which is supposed to focus on the students. The professors that have already been created will remain as NPC's, so anyone can control what they do. New ones will be made for the classes that currently have no Professor. Those who want to continue playing as your professor, please send me a message, and I will work out a solution with you.
3. Students are only allowed to sign up for a maximum of three classes. This way, no confusion is created with the crew members. Those classes that sudents sign up for will be mandatory to go to. You MUST post in all three of the classes, at least once every lesson. This way, Professors aren't left behind, and a little confused.
4. Post at LEAST once every three days. Yes, three is the magic number, because I am dead convinced that that is a good number.
5. Those students and roleplayers who get special recognition from me, or any other members of the crew will be reported to me. They will be given special priviledges, and even some prizes.
{This will continue to grow as I get more ideas and when the power stops being a retard.}
I want member, and crew input for this, so please, tell me!

I love how your planning to get rid of the professors. I hated being a professor, and this way all the classes are open, and not just those that have professors played by a person.
I do support your plan to remove the old posts, but I must say, Do NOT DELETE THEM. We have PLENTY of subforums, so why not move them and put them in a pensive that everyone can read, for I know that people enjoy reading the old posts.
I am still a little confused about #5. Please elaborate.

Of course, that is probably a better idea, Ruruka. I'll have them moved to the Guild Pensive as soon as I can.
As for Number 5 --
Any members who get on the whitelist whike I am Captain will be given house points, and entered for a raffle for a prize from the Guild mule.
They also might be allowed a special character, if they win the raffle.

Everything sounds wonderful to me!
Moving threads to the Guild Pensive will be a huge hassel, trust me, so if you need help with that.... simply contact me. We can split the work by picking who moves the threads from which subforum.
Same applies if you need help with anything. I'm always available.
So glad to have you as our newest Captain c: I wont miss the responsiblity. xDD But will be around to help out!

I'm so glad the guild torch has been passed into another pair of devoted and capable hands. I can't wait to see what new direction the guild takes. My suggestion on keeping time running would be to follow your three-day posting rule, and make each hogwarts day three of ours. the first day would be morning, the second noonish, and the third would be evening and night. So people in various locations would have to post accordingly and everything would go smoothly with the roleplay based on the date, rather than basing the date on the roleplay.

That sounds like a great idea, and I will try to incorporate that. However, I need to start up getting the activity into a good flow.
I might need some help on that...

Well, let me know if there's anything I can do. The majority of my guilds have lapsed into inactivity, and so this is really my only guild with any sort of action occurring. As for the three day rule, there would be penalties for everyone who wasn't back in the castle during the evening.
Also, a feature I saw in a different guild was to have people "apply" for various character relationships beforehand. It was basically where people decided who was going to hate who, and who would end up falling in love etc. That system ends once the roleplay begins, but it's a good way to kick-start things and then let them take their own course.
Finally, an overarching guild plot line is always good, but involving every member of the guild is difficult. Therefore, I think there should be another forum for plotlines of small groups. The Troublemakers, for example, would be smuggling in things from the Weasley's Wizard Wheezes, and the Slytherin Mauraders would be stalking the corridors in the evening day of the RP, scaring people and hexing them. The Adventurers would be exploring the castle and looking for secrets, and often getting in trouble for scouting out the dark forest. Each character would belong to one of these or other groups, and their group would come up with a plotline that it would follow, often intersecting with the plotlines of other groups.
Finally, I think all the teachers should be played by you, Rose, and the other crew. No crew member would have a set teacher, but if someone's out in the corridors after hours, they could occasionally run into whatever teacher happened to be there.
Hope these suggestions are useful, and let me know how I can help!

Quote: As for the three day rule, there would be penalties for everyone who wasn't back in the castle during the evening. I absolutely love this idea. It truly is an incentive to make everyone work harder. It will help so much. There also might be rewards for those who can post often.

This seems like a great idea, if not a little confusing. I will try to implement this, and see how it goes.Quote: Therefore, I think there should be another forum for plotlines of small groups. This is also a great idea. If I can get the entire guild on board, I might set up clubs. Of course, they would be led by one of my crew, as I need someone to keep an eye on them, and the crew would personally invite the students who would be able to help the club.Quote: Finally, I think all the teachers should be played by you, Rose, and the other crew. No crew member would have a set teacher, but if someone's out in the corridors after hours, they could occasionally run into whatever teacher happened to be there. I think my crew would go mad. I'm planning on having members who would like create the profiles, even my crew could. Of course, only WE (the crew) would be able to give or take House Points, but when the professors are not in class, they are free to be played by anyone.
Quote: let me know how I can help Keep doing what you are for this guild! Thank you so much!

In hindsight, I think the club method would be enough, and we can let the relationships develop on their own. I really, really like the idea of each club being lead by a member of the crew, because we can discuss where the plot of each club goes in the Plot Discussion thread (I'll create it if you like the idea) in the crew section. That way we can talk about what goes on and involve everyone in the decision making process.
As for the house point system, it's clear we need to have a slightly different basis than hogwarts did. How about this: each house has a thread that people go to before they post in the rp, and simply add their name. This would let us know who was around during the three-day time. Every time the day advances (every three days) we'd clear the forum, and people would start adding their names again.
If someone's name is on the list... Once: no points given or lost. Twice: five points. Thrice: ten points Four times: 15 points Five times: 20 points.
If someone's name isn't on the list after three days, they lose five points.

I have a concern: Not all of us can be on three days in a row. I know we have guild members of all different ages here, some of us are still in high school and some of us are in college, and we may even have a few members who are out in the real world, so it may not always be possible to come on. The guild is one of my priorities, I assure you all, but I know for a fact that I, myself, am not able to get on every single day right now. I am on vacation visiting grandparents and sometimes they just sort of kidnap me, so I have no advanced warning. Therefore, if this was on the third day, or something, it really just can not be helped.
My solution to this problem is another thread. A thread labeled something like, "Member Preoccupations". There, members of the guild could state that they were on vacation, or something, thus they could be excused from any penalties. Of course, this would evolve with the school year starting. I know mine begins in little over a month.
As much as we all love the guild and wish we could be on every day, the truth is that sometimes that simply can not be done, and I must point out my belief that it's really not fair sometimes; you know, special circumstances and all that.
What you two have discussed above would certainly be ideal, but, again, sometimes it's just not possible.
However, that is not to say that laziness is any exception to the rule in any way, shape, or form. I'm just pointing it out. XP
Hope that was good member insight for you, Rose. ;D
Also, if I can offer any more assistance, please, do not hesitate to inform me!
<3
---- Member Preoccupations To elaborate on this a bit more, it would be used as a sort of "get out of jail free" card. In a way. If someone simply wasn't able to get on, they could go into the forum and inform everyone. There by saving their butts, and the once impending boredom and anxiety of whoever they are role playing with.
For example: "Ikamaru: I'm on vacation from June 24th until July 15th and am unable to get on as often as I would like. Therefore, please excuse my absences. Sezer Phillips and Anna Wilcox will be impended. So, Blue Logic and Jackie1171 will be bored without me."
Posting format: "User Name Reason Why: Characters You Play: Members Affected:"
Sound like it would work? XD

{ I agree entirely with what Ikamaru said. I know that our members are truly devoted people. And being so devoted, I think that devotion also applies to our real-world lives (well, those of us who actually have them, anyway). So yes, I think the Member Preoccupations thread idea would certainly be an asset to the guild. }
