In the heart of the Forest of Twilight, hidden and virtually inaccessible for those who cannot fly, or who don't know the way through the gnarled, spiny underbrush that stretches between the massive trees that surround it. It is here that the Shuensha clan makes their home, among the branches of the racia trees. They have named the clearing (and its surrounding trees) Mekkin, and refer to it almost as we would refer to a town name. It suits their needs perfectly--since the clearing is virtually inaccessible by any not within the clan, it's a safe place for the hatchlings to play and learn valuable skills that they'll need to fulfill their adult roles within the clan, as well as for nesting females to give birth to and raise their young.
It also serves to meet their nutritional needs quite well, being, as it so happens, tucked into a forest that's quite bountiful, at least concerning prey. It's said that another reason the clan had for choosing this particular area to settle in is that there wasn't much competition from other predators. Bubbling through the northernmost corner of the clearing and then a small distance through the brambles before forming a small pool just outside of the clan roost's borders is a small brook, one whose source lies deep beneath the ground--deep enough, in fact, that it never freezes, not even in the winter. Obviously, for the Shuensha, this represents another advantage to their position, since most of the animals that live anywhere near their lands must venture to the pool for water, since it's a relatively precious commodity that deep in the forest.

Clan Members and Their Roles:Chieftan: Xuuya Cheiftess: None. Hunters: Tres, Stryker (there's more to heem than meets the eye though...) ninja , Lu and Zirk'nah. Youth: Celeste & Flame, Kaze Healer: Arii'nah Shaman: None. Yet. ninja Storyteller: To be filled. General Members: Zene and LeyiaClan Member Profiles:Xuuya (Mystic Moogle) -- Chieftain -- He's a bit of a tricky sort. He's quick witted and can easily talk his way out a bad situation, if one happens to arise. He likes to use words to fight as a first line of attack, but he fights occasionally, if his enemy seems to want to bite his head off rather than talk. X3
Arii'nah (Safaia) -- Healer -- She's a strong personality type, very protective, yet loves to act like a hatchling herself sometimes. She's very mature for her age, (though she'd be like a 27 year old in human age) and works on her 'talents' to help the clan be strong. She's more of a non-fighter, but fierce like her little brother when needed
Stryker (Vashtya) -- Hunter/Warrior -- Is a loner, and quite maladjusted and antisocial at that. He's very predatorial in his view of the world, and so can seem quite cruel. Why he joined up with the Shuensha is anyone's guess--he just kind've showed up one day, looking somewhat the worse for wear, and when asked if he were interested in joining the clan, he shrugged and muttered something about how he may as well give it a try. He also doesn't respect very many beings, but if he ever did give his trust and respect to someone, it's likely that it'd be for life :3.
Tres (~Solarcrest~) -- Hunter/Warrior -- is spirited and loves a good time. He can be deadly when needed or goofy. so idea position is hunter/assassin or defender..caus ecombined with the power of his trigrams on his boyd..he has many abilities.
Lu (Kamileun) -- Hunter/Warrior -- Lu is generally friendly, and loves to sing, and swim. He's fairly care free, occasionally to the point that he might seem a bit arrogant(not taking much heed about dangerous and/or serious situations). Nonetheless, he's easy to befriend, and hard to anger.
Zirk'nah (Safaia) -- Hunter/Warrior -- The younger brother to Arii, he thinks highly of himself and wants nothing more than to boss everyone around, even the chief. He wasn't willing moving into the clan, but he would never dare to cross his older sister. Still naive in the world (around 15 for humans) he loves to pcik fights with the older males, typically getting beaten up, yet never learning his lesson. He has a spark of future responsible leadership, but the fullness of youth overtakes him.
Zene (Ani Kawashima) -- General Clan Member -- Rather cool, calm, quite stubborn, slow to piss off, but scary when she is XD. Snaps easily, and doesn't back down when she thinks she's right.
Leyia (Artsywolven) -- General Clan Member -- Somewhat shy, though to some extent really.. rowdy (more to be added later <3)
Celeste (Teckno) -- Youth -- Celeste is quite calm and serene, she never rushes but never dawdles in whatever she is doing. She is always level headed and tries to get along with anyone. She loves the night. As for her powers I don't know much about that yet, we'll see what happens when she grows up
Flame (Teckno) -- Youth -- Flame is the opposite of his sister. He is always moving he rarely stops, he talks so fast he gets his words mixed up and when he does he gets very embarrased. He gets quite annoying sometimes because he always seems to be hangin qround when you don't want him to. He loves the day time and is scared of the night, though he wont admit it. As for powers he is the same as his sister not know as of yet.
Kaze (Vashtya) -- Youth -- Outgoing and friendly, Kaze's most known for her ability to spin a tale at the drop of the hat--usually to get herself out've a sticky situation. However, she also has an amazing memory, and can remember things that she's seen, or that were said to her, even if she only heard/has seen them once...and can even recall them months after the fact. However, she is still a child, and as such, spends more time playing with whomever is available than she does memorizing details in her surroundings

Clan History:
According to the clan's last storyteller, although the position now lies vacant, the Shuensha clan was formed as an alliance between a group of five individual, clanless Yeeshu who had banded together in an attempt to better protect themselves against other yeeshu clans who inhabited the selfsame cliffs (hence the clan name--5 starting members, like the 5 points of a star). Unlike many of the other, longer-standing yeeshu clans that existed at the time, the Shuensha were often willing to welcome new members, since they were so small, and so newly created. Also, since the clan had only recently been formed from individuals who had simply banded together, they rarely, if ever, had a clan healer or shaman, the bulk of their members being relatively aggressive and warlike, as well as being skilled hunters. The cliffs directly overlooked the ocean, and game was plentiful, even with so many yeeshu occupying the area.
Of course, as with most things in nature, the amount of game varies from year to year, and even from generation to generation. Generations after the Shuensha clan had first been formed, there came a time when game suddenly became scarce. Some said it was the colder-than normal winters that crippled the land and made even the sea colder than usual--prompting even the fish to remain in deeper waters. Regardless of the cause, the larger clans, in an attempt to secure a future for their own kind, began driving off the smaller clans that roosted amongst the cliffside caverns. It was at this time that the Shuensha chieftain and chieftess of that time decided that the time had come for their small clan to make their way to new territory, before they lost even a few of their small population in the scuffling that was taking place.
At this point in the history, even the storytellers become vague, mentioning only that the clan spent a very long time trying to find a suitable territory, and lost many of the elder, as well as very young, members of the clan on the way. However, when the weary group came upon the gigantic forest in which they eventually made their home, it was late evening, and it is said that they all felt an instantaneous connection--this was where their new home would be. That being the case, they promptly named it the Forest of Twilight, since their first sight of the forest, bathed as it was in the glow of the moon and the stars, was the one that was forever burned into their memories. It took a few more weeks for the clan to find the actual site at which they would roost, and it was not a decision they made lightly. In keeping with their forefathers, they looked for a well-protected area, in which the young could be guarded without undue effort, as well as an area in which both water and food were accessible...quite a tall order to fill.
However, the clan persevered, and after what seemed to most like a tree-to-tree search, Mekkin was discovered, and the extremely small clan moved in immediately, intensely relieved that, at last, their long journey was over. Because the clan has always been so geared towards survival, from the very day it was founded, there remains a huge emphasis on being skilled in battle and hunting, even though the Shuensha have had generations of peace behind them, at this point.
Clan's Ruling & Philosophy on Life:
The Shuensha have always based one's position in the clan on one's performance, as opposed to who one's parents were...and as such, there have been times where a chieftain or chieftess have been removed, sometimes forcefully, from power because the rest of the clan felt that there was someone else who was better qualified for the job...however, this hasn't happened often, especially not in recent years.
The Shuensha, as a clan, place great value on strength--not just physical, but mental as well. There's no one more respected than a clan member who has proven time and again that they're not just physically strong, but who have demonstrated an ability to think quickly under pressure, or who have shown an ability to organize highly complex hunting strategies. Bravery, while valued, is seen as being foolish when it's used as an excuse to do something that puts oneself at risk where it isn't necessary. However, their somewhat survivalist outlook also rewards those who are canny--it may sound sneaky, but a yeeshu with a crafty mind may also be very highly respected by other members of the clan, although when that kind of mindset crosses into manipulativeness, most clan members feel that it's been taken too far.
Their philosophy, succinctly put, would be "You only live once, so protect it as fiercely as you're able."

Making a curious chittering noise, Kaze wriggled, her tail flicking idly back and forth as she tried to pull a particularly stubborn clump of grass out from underneath the gnarled roots of one of the racia trees that helped enclose the clearing that she called home. When the clump came free, she flew backwards, and landed hard on her rump. "Owwwww..." she whined, clacking her beak idly in irritation, and almost dropping the bothersome weed in the process. Closing her beak quickly, she got slowly to her feet, wincing slightly at her now-sore bottom.
"It's so booooring here." she murmured to herself, neglecting to remember the fact that she usually had no problem entertaining herself, especially when some of the more serious adult yeeshu were around.

Xuuya, the Chieftain of the Shuensha, wandered up to the younger Yeeshu, his hooves softly plodding in the damp grass. He watched Kaze intently, curious to know what she was doing. He had seen her fall over onto her rump, trying to free the clump of grass from the stout racia roots. "Are you all right, Kaze?" he inquired, tilting his head to one side.

Squawking in surprise, Kaze did actually drop the weed in question this time. "Umm...hiyas Chief Xuuya! I'm fine, thanks..." she trailed off cheerfully, flicking her tail pleasantly from side to side. "And you, sir? Things have been awfully quiet around here lately..." she continued, looking up at the clan's chieftain respectfully.

The dark-feathered Yeeshu looked around apprehensively. "Yes, it isn't just me then. It's almost eerie, how quiet it is. Much too quiet." He sat down, curling his tail around his feet.

Scuffing one hoof idly in the dirt, Kaze gave him a small grin. "Not really...I just wish stuff would happen..." at this, her voice dropped to a childish, excited whisper. "You know...like when Stryker got mad cause I left burrs in his sleeping area, and he didn't notice til he went to go to sleep..." she trailed off, an impish gleam in her eye at the remembered prank.

Golded hooves pressed lightly against the terrain as the auburn female stalked through the area. As it were she were out for a 'stroll'. An -alone- stroll, not even thinking about possibley seeing any others of her species out and about.. or at least that would walk openly up and approach. A brow tilted, and again the emerald eyes shifted about. Seemed like a decent enough place to live, though.. where was she supposed to have /fun/? No one was around.. so how could anything interesting happen? Leyia sighed at this thought, though still continued to walk. Stopping, quite suddenly, the female dropped her rear end with an audible 'thump'. Despite her anti-social persona, she honestly thought for a breif second of screaming at the top of her lungs for a moment to draw attention to herself, but unfortunatly, she would never do such a thing. (XD) So.. she sat. Silent. Waiting. .. Bored. Surely the bright colors on her chest and wings would catch someone's eye..?

Spotting Leyia, a mischievious expression crossed the young Yeeshu's face, and she wiggled her tail in excitement. Sneaking along the ground carefully, Kaze was carefully to move slowly, and to make use of every clump of plants, fallen tree branch and pebble as she attempted to sneak up behind Leyia...

Xuuya watched the young one's hunting attempts closely. It would be....interesting to say the least, if she caught Leyia by surprise. He stifled a laugh as he remembered how often he had done this to other Yeeshu as a child, and even that one time he had done it to a sleeping Aziraphale and nearly had his tail bitten off....

Holding no knowledge of the fact that she was in fact being 'hunted' or 'sneaed up upon', Leyia made no reactions to such. Her tail slowly begun to sway back and forth, curving mildly with each quiet swing. Where WAS everyone..? Eyes shifted, again glancing about. No one. Still.
Thump.
Again she'd switched positions, this time allowing her forelimbs to release their hold on the terrain, which caused her body to fall rather quickly to the ground. Still she made no signs of knowing that the younger yeeshu was attempting to take her by suprise.
