You wake up, pain is the first thing you know. You open your eyes, finding a close view of a sandy beach. The sound of wind and waves assaults your ears, along with the cries of seagulls. You taste blood and saltwater on your tongue. You look about you, sitting up, and find that you have no idea where you are.
The beach is sandy, and currently littered with broken parts of a ship. Amongst the flotsam there are bodies, some being dragged back to sea by the irresistible tug of the tides. Amongst the debris, there are boxes, both whole and broken, various parts of the ship, including at least one whole cannon, a few cannonballs, some powder, an anchor, and other parts that are difficult to identify from your current vantage point.
The wind picks up, and you realize that there is a massive storm inbound. What do you do?

*after gathering myself, I begin gathering up the salvegable items that I am able to carry or drag further from the shore as to not let them get swept away, search the dead bodies for anything useful to me,and than begin setting up a makshift barricade by digging about 2 feet into the ground, shoving planks of wood in and securing them together with ripped bits of cloth taken from the now drifting corpses. after the "fort" has been set up I drag the crates that have been unbroken into the shelter, and the contents of the broken ones (or that which is left) in as well* "I'm sure im not the only survivor so I better sit tight but also be n my guard, i've heard of these types of isles, there be savages that might want me scalp or something like te sorts." *sits in wait*

~::The light is so bright::~Pain. The first thing she remembered as she woke, was pain. It was a dull, aching pain that became more intense as consciousness gripped her tighter. She attempted to take in a deep hissing breath, but then started coughing. The scent of salt was strong in the air and there was water in her lungs. It burned. Her coughing fit alerted her to the rest of her body, and she gingerly extended sore limbs, stretching them. They all seemed to work, the legs, talons, wings, and tail. She groaned as the pain became sharper in some joints but now she noticed a light on the other side of her eyelids. It was very bright and warm. She could assume it to be the sun, but assumptions are never very wise. Other sensations arrived to her. She was laying on something hard and shifting, gravelly. She craned her neck up, towards the light and attempted to open her eyes. They opened slowly with some effort and was immediately welcomed by sand and salt falling into the open slit causing her to close them again. A hiss of pain as her membrane worked to clean her eye, cleansing tears falling into her feathers. A few more blinks and hisses and she was finally able to open her golden eyes without too much discomfort. The light was blinding though, being reflected back by the white sand she was laying on. After two attempts of lifting both an achy body and waterlogged wings, she decided to rest there, letting the sun dry her grey mottled aplomado feathers, and tried not to think about how much she looked like a drowned bird. ~:: I close my eyes and dream::~

The storm begins to intensify, the winds are causing the waves to lap closer to the cliffs. Pieces of the wreckage begin to move with the tide, dragging some of the bodies to a watery grave.
Thunder rolls loudly....

The thunder causes a young man to stir, and he attempts to push himself up. There's a sickening crunch, followed by a grunt of pain as he rolls to the side and holds his right forearm. He waits a moment to let the pain pass, then slowly sits up and opens his eyes painfully. He looks around for his weapons, and finds only a small matchlock pistol still intact, the powder completely wet, but he takes it along anyway, along with the shot pouch and powder horn. After another glance around he finds a couple of pieces of wood and some cloth, then tries to set the broken bone in his arm and splint it, to no avail. He struggles to his feet, arm hanging useless at his side, then heads inland, hoping to find someone else alive to help him weather the storm.

She slowly get up to her feet, and cont. to look around to see what is around her that she could use to make a shelter. She start walking around collecting all the pieces from the ship so that she can make shelter. Then she locate a good spot away from the water and begain to make shelter. Once done making my shelter, she went looking for any more people that are alive and gentle move them to her shelter to get out of the nasty storm that is about to hit.
Doing all this while in pain and injuried. Once back in her shelter with other people that are also injuried, she begain to start healing herself and others. After healing everyone, she begain to search for food to make a meal for everyone so that they can stay warm. Then she sit down and begain to meditate to recover her strength.

~::The light is so bright::~The crash of thunder overhead made the gryphon open her, suddenly wide awake. The sound brought back vivid memories of how she had come to be stranded on this beach in the first place. They were not pleasant. Struggling to her feet, she shook the sand out of her wings, and she couldn't help but cry out sharply as her right wing gave a stab of pain. Perhaps it was broken. Hopefully it was just sprained. Either way, she had to get out of the way of the storm. She could see it, and hear it now. Wind howling gusts through her ear tufts, dark clouds building on the horizon. More thunder and this time she saw the lightning that caused it. Quickly she scanned the beach for anything useful. Somewhere, further down the beach, she could see smoke. When the wind blew right she smelled the fire. There were bodies of lost souls around her, some getting buried in the tide. The fire could be a survivor, especially since the lightning is not so close yet to have started it itself, and the fire wasn't there when she first awoke. The gryphon went toward the smoke, favoring her sore wing and left talon, hoping they were friendly. ~:: I close my eyes and dream::~

She is awaken to see a creature walking this way, she gets up and walks over to the creature and says hi. She ask if she can attend to the wing so that it won't be so painful or sore, plus offer it some food to eat.

He lays there, waves lapping closer and closer, groaning slightly as all he can feel is pain. Thoughts run through his mind, "What happened?" "I can't feel my arm..." "Urgh, my head hurts..." as he just rests for the moment. The crashing thunder is not a new sound to him, the winds are a bit strong... Though the sudden lapping of the tide as a wave crashes nearly close enough to drag him away startles him awake, and he starts clawing at the wet sand to pull himself away, finding himself unable to use his other arm.
As he pulls himself away, he sees a few of his personal affects nearby, further up shore and next to half of an empty chest. After a struggle against another wave and almost being pulled in by the following undertow, he manages to get to his goods, steadying himself on his feet again before grabbing his things... A black silk ribbon with a fist-sized bell on it... His red jacket... though it may need some repairs once he finds where he is. Among his stuff, he finds a rather out of place dagger, probably from one of the people he was traveling with, and he takes that as well, sliding on the soaked jacket.
He sits for another moment, watching the inbound storm, oblivious to the shard of debris in his currently useless arm, or the fact he's still bleeding from a wound to his head... He blinks, starting to feel a little woozy, and wondering if that light in the distance is just his mind messing with him. He staggers to his feet again, and slowly makes his way over...
Now he could only hope to run into other... hybrids... like himself. He can't think well enough to explain anything right now.

seeing wovement on the horrizon, Jim begins readying the shack, and seeing that they are mainly come from the direction he stumbled inland himself put his mind at ease, except for the sound of the storm that wasrolling in, "dammit not another one" was his though as he began to try to stregthen the insides of the wall against strong winds. after pilling san against the walls on the inside he rushes outside to do the same, as well as add a bit more wood and a tiny bit of gun powder to the fire in the form of a ball, in hope that the sound might drive of unwanted critters. . . or draw them in to be used as provisions, (mmmm wild boar)

After finding the injuried creature, and leading the way to shelter and food. She looks up and see another creature that is injuried and wobbly on its feet. Frist she took care of the first injuried creature to make sure that it was comfortable in the mean time. Second she goes and tracks down the other injuried creature that she saw. After a few mins she finds the creature and begains to treat it. Using her strenght to help the creature walk to her shelter, and give it some food so that it can recover from its injury. She let everyone know that they will be moving to a higher ground where she saw some cliffs for some protection agains the storm that is about to hit hard. She did a last bit of looking around for any more wood or any odds and ends to use to make a raft or a pack to carry the remaining pieces of the ship to the cliff.

The crash of waves intensifies as they get bigger, coming farther inland. A huge roller can be seen forming not a quarter mile distant, and it grows in size rapidly. It slams the beach, washing dozens of yards toward to cliffs.
There is a loud cracking sound, as the remains of the ship collapse, and nearly half of the wreck is dragged back to sea. More massive waves can be seen forming in the distance. The wind picks up to a full gale, hurtling small pieces of wood far inland, some even hitting the cliff face.
It grows far more difficult to stand, as the sand beneath you slides oceanward, and the wind blows inland.

He staggered, finding his footing vanishing every so often, the world around him dimming... He can barely feel himself still walking, as he blacks out... When he can see again, he's still walking, a bit further down the beach, and closer to the water. Steering himself away, he blacks out again, only to come to with some woman helping him along. He blinks a moment at her, before the next thing he remembers is waking up in some make-shift shelter, some food next to him. He still can't feel his arm, but he manages to move it into his vision. He smiles a little, before taking a piece of the (most likely) fruit next to him, and biting into it... He grfs at the taste, but appreciates the offer none the less. Closing his eyes, he rests for the moment, sighing, and muttering "Thank you..." to whoever helped him.

~::The light is so bright::~She was feeling rather disoriented. There was a voice, then a creature. the her wounds were healed and it was all rather sudden, she had had no time to react to any of it. However it had happened, she was now feeling much better, that is, until the first wave hit. The gryphon was suddenly splashed with salt water again and the sand started shifting away, as id trying to drag her back into the deadly surf. No time to worry about fires and odd appearing and disappearing healers. If the fire was on the beach it would soon be washed away. And so would the rest of the beach. She looked up. There was a cliff face rising abruptly out of the earth. With the strong gusts of wind, if she tried to fly she would either be thrown back out to sea or crashed into the cliff. But she could still climb, especially now that her talon was healed up. The gryphon trotted over to the cliffs and began climbing slowly, easing her damp feathers up the rock, one claw at a time, her wings out to the side to help keep balance but not so wide as to allow any strong gusts to pull her off. It actually helped hold her to the wall. Slowly she climbed, terrified of making a mistake. ~:: I close my eyes and dream::~
