From like, the master. He's the band director at one of the local middle schools, the minister of music at my church, the lead trumpet in the community band, he was the lead trumpet in the Army Band back in his military days, and he's just generally amazing.
He's pretty much a legend in the music community in our area, especially with the band kids who had him as a teacher. All of my friends are jealous because he wanted to give me lessons. I don't even think he's making my parents pay for the lessons.
Needless to say, I'm REALLY happy about this. ^^
And on a similar note: I've transcribed two Streetlight Manifesto songs on trumpet (it doesn't sound at all weird because Streetlight Manifesto actually has a trumpet in the band). That makes me feel good about myself. Just thought I'd throw that in there.

congrats man he sounds like one hell of a teacher! with your skill and his help i can see you hitting the big times with that trumpet of yours in no time

O: I used to listen to ska but I mainly listened to it so then-best friend and I had something to jam to together. xD It's cool music, but I don't listen to it on my own. xD ¤::::: Because you asked me to. :::::¤
