The Sale
Step By StepStep 1, The Item:Well first an item is needed right? Can't sell anything unless there is an actual item.
ex) Hermit Cat
Chose your item(s) carefully after doing research on market value and popularity.
Step 2, How to Sell:In
Auctions, usually a time limit is placed, such as
ex) "From July 5 12:00 Gaia Time to July 10 11:59Pm Gaia Time"
There is also a starting bid price, or the lowest accepted bid by the seller.
ex) "Starting bid: 1000g"
Sometimes there is a required bid upgrade/Increment. This is to keep some people from just bidding up to the next 1 gold.
ex) "starting bid 1000g, upgrade/Increment of: 25g
In an
Inventory Sale users may just post a screen cap or list of a large number of items they want to sell. Users are required to post offers on one or more items.
Step 3, The setupA general auction setup:
Object selling
Starting bid price: xxxg
(optional) bid increment: xxxg
Time limit
other options other than gold willing to trade for/withSo with the examples given it should look something like this:
Hermit Cat
Starting bid: 1000g
Bid increment: 25g
Tme allotted: July 5 12:00AM Gaia Time to July 10 11:59PM Gaia Time
other trade items: pm me and we'll haggleStep 4, The Waiting GameSometimes it takes a while for someone to buy your items. Try to be patient and remember the you can only bump if your post falls off the first page.
Purchase Options:1. Pure or gold: Users give a specific amount of gold for the purchased item. Amount is decided by both parties and agreed on.
2. Item trade: If a user is selling an item they may be seeking another item. These can be posted in the first post.
Sometimes if people do not have/want to spend the full value of an that is being sold, they will offer other items of similar value of the object being sold. These maybe accepted or rejected by the seller.
3. A combination: Sometimes gold and items are exchanged. It would be best to specify if you are okay with getting items or if you would like gold/pure only.
---------------
A Note from the creator: I (Violet_Rampage) don't recommend selling for items because there are many possible scams related to this. The "buyer" will say they have a value object (Alurna's Rose for example) and wish to trade for another object (Watermeat for example) and when you go to trade they don't actually have the object or it is a look alike and not worth anything.
Items promised may also suddenly drops in value in the marketplace for meaning that you may not be able to resell the item or you will be out gold.
Of course you can still do this method if you wish, it's just not recommended by myself (Violet_Rampage), the guild does allow such sales but takes no responsibility for gold lost on either side. Vendors, please use with caution and research the appraised value of such objects when trading.
