1. A few months ago I didn't want to go to church and my grandmother flipped out. I finally decided that I'd go if only to stop her from grounding me. When I got in the car she said I wasn't allowed to go because I was dressed in Tripp pants. After that I told her not to bother to get me up for church.

2.Today, for no reason, she says I need to go tomorrow. I told her that I wasn't going to go and that she was forcing her religion on me. She said that she was allowed to do that until I was eighteen and that if I didn't go I'd loose privileges.

I don't know how to resolve this without [a.] raising Hell or [b.]giving in to her.

Church is not a necessity! She can't force you to go. You need to let her understand that you have different priorities in religion, and she can't force it on you. I, personally, have never gone to church. So I don't see a major importance in it myself.

Church is not necessary for faith, anyway. I have taken religion classes (Catholic) and they believe that faith is just the belief in itself, and does not require anything physical like going to church. Church is an option of religion and should not be required of all people in the family.

Just tell her you don't have the same kind of religious priorities. Tell her you're agnostic, or something.

The problem with Christianity is that it's not very flexible...

I have told her this. She just doesn't listen.

You know what? Screw your grandmother. It might be harsh, but anyone who shoves religion down peoples throats and makes all those who think differently suffer because of their "lack" of belief are hypocrites. I say stick with your guns. She takes away your priviledges? Fine, but you'll still have your dignity. Tell her straight up what you think if she asks or tells you to go. scream
