Here's a new one for all of you.

What's the origin of your username?

Mine isn't really anything special. Friends told me about Gaia years back and so I decided I'd check it out and when it told me to type in my username I just came up with this one on my own. That's really it, nothing special. When I first joined the S in my username wasn't capitalized and I changed that a few years back.

My name used to be 'Mors the Meticulous.'

The first part came from my Freshman year of high school, Latin class. I've always been a cheerfully morbid little weirdo and one day was talking about death and decay, skipping along, when one of my friends turned to me and said, "You know, I've always thought if Death were a real person, it'd be kind of like you." It stuck.

The last part was given by a friend who I dubbed 'the Silly.'

The change to 'Doll' is from my mother's pet name for me, 'Shandra Doll.'

xD I decided that I had to have a username that told people what to call me if they were at a loss and was something I could remember. The 'butterfingers' part was easy once I thought about it. I dropped an entire carton of eggs once... individually.... That's twelve eggs that I tried to successfully give to someone and managed to drop. With that kind of thing on my record, it jsut seemed appropriate.

Ryo - Shortened from "Ryoko" [ Tenchi Muyo!] and Rin from... I'm not sure I just thought it clashed well.
People in real life call me "Ryo" now and some of them don't even know my real name which makes me laugh. biggrin

Minus those embarrassing nicknames your parents give you, I've never had a nickname. Then one day years back, my Ex just pops of with a "How's it going Lady J?" out of no where and it just stuck. And it worked on two levels for me (Jess OOC/Jade IC). 86 was the year I was born.

Before this and on everything else, I'm darkwaterangel86. My mom and I came up with that one when I was like 12. Dark for my morbid side, Water for my sign and personality, and Angel, well, mom says its for my caring nature and dad says "Angel of death/destruction". Lol

My username originally started back in my pre-Gaia days as a preteen on Justachat. That's chatrooms, if you've never heard of it. I basically just came up with this courtesy of a line in the dub of Wolfs Rain. "From the great spirit was born the wolf, and man became it's messenger." So, Messenger_Of_The_Moon. The underscores are just because Gaia didn't allow you to have a username with spaces in it back in the day, and I never really wanted to change it. (I tried to once and.. well, that's a story for another day.)
