Name: S'tel (Saitel)
Gender: Male
Age: 31
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual
Rank: Wingleader or wingrider

Appearance: S'tel might be described as lanky. S'tel might be described as muscled. Either way, you're describing S'tel. As a son of an ex-Runner, he was naturally fit for endurance. Endurance is a Runner's best friend and you could say it and S'tel bloodline. With such long legs, he is a little awkward looking but takes easy offence to any mentioning of a wherry, which he does resemble.

Going right along with the wherry look are his dominating feature, his eyes. Pitch black and a little on the large side, you could say people get lost in them. Lying under his burnt umber hair, they could be referenced to a piece of burnt charcoal. With clean hair and clean hands, S'tel has often been labeled a sanitizer.

The man bears no distinguishing marks on his skin (other than Thread scars, which are common on all riders), but his outfits usually do. He always proudly displays little trinkets he receives from weyrmates or other lovers, along with the stuff he wins from Games or gambling at Gathers. They're usually something small, like a new belt knife or a nice pair of gloves. His weyr, however, is scattered with tons of things from the past. There's torn off pieces of cloth and ribbons everywhere, along with portraits of random people. He's comforted by the past and by others.
Personality: S'tel can be summed up easily: he is energetic and loves to please.

S'tel is one of those dragonriders whoselife revolves around fighting Thread and being in the Weyr. He's very passionate about Threadfighting and almost everything else he does, making it all an adventure. S'tel, even though much older now, still can't help but continue to prank, although he does it in a more discreet manner. He's almost so good at it that he's rarely blamed anymore. He'll often arrange hunting parties and berry gathering, and he'll jump in when there's Games. The brownrider is also notorious for all of the Risings he's participated in, with both male and female greenriders. One cannot say that's he's the most attractive thing on Earth (nor the ugliest), but he does have a drive that didn't disappear once he got out of teenagerhood.

But there's a quieter side of S'tel, one that often clashes. As a Weyrbrat he had to work hard to get attention, and he still have insecurities with that. Even though he's rather active and jumpy, he'll almost always try to make sure that he doesn't seriously hurt (harmless pranks excluded) anyone close to him, even though he often does. After Impressing Liosliath, he learned that he could channel all of his energy into something that could benefit others and give him a good alibi among the Weyr, something that a Weyrbrat rarely has. One can /still/ see the thirty-one-year-old among the kitchens, running about and happily doing chores for the older workers there.

It's also key to remember that S'tel is definitely not a bronzerider. He likes to rise in rank, but he does so because of Threadfighting, and his need to help others. He is far from conceited and rarely keeps an eye on the queenriders. S'tel knows that it's likely some bronzeriders in his Wing are upset with him being Wingleader, but he's sure of his position, especially because of his older age and calm leading manner during Threadfall. He's very even. After all, he is a brownrider.
History: S'tel, or Saitel, was born to a pair of dragonriders, an ex-Runner bronzerider and a greenrider. The greenrider had been persuaded to keep Saitel to term and not "have a short flight," but she was still bothered by not being able to fight Thread in the upper Wings for a whole nine months. She also didn't prove to be very interested in raising Saitel even after he was born, as he was soon shuffled into the Weyrbrat life. His parents still cared, especially since he was his mother's only child. They occasionally visited --even now-- and showered him with gifts and praise... They were just very busy.

Saitel quickly made friends with the other Weyrbrats. They all united to periodically pull pranks on the Lower Cavern occupants, along with "fragile" Hall-bred candidates. Life continued like that until Saitel Impressed Liosliath after his third Standing. He was suddenly thrust into a world with much more responsibility, a place where he couldn't allow himself to be easily labeled as a "prankster" and someone who didn't obey. This new S'tel realized that he was good at Threadfighting, and that he gained a small name during drills. He was happy with this positive attention, and he continued to use his energy to please others. He became a Wingsecond in no time. When he was twenty-eight, his old Wingleader recommended him to O'kor to fill in an empty Wingleader spot. S'tel, a little surprised since he was a brownrider, but still excited, accepted the position. He's quite an "older brother" with his wingriders, cracking jokes and looking after them, but he can still lay down the law.
Pet(s): Blue Eno - Eno is the first and only gift S’tel ever got from his father, not that S’tel really cares. He was given to S’tel when his father was about to retire from Threadfighting, when S'tel was about twenty-six or so. He was won in a Gather and was not unique by being the smallest or the largest egg. He was just there.

It hatched to be Eno, a teal firelizard with almost silver undertones. He was an average-sized blue, maybe a bit smaller than most. Calm and independent, he’ll disappear for a few days, yet pop in “magically” when S’tel needs him. When he’s out and about the Weyr he’s mostly seen on the shoulders of his owner or nestled on top of Lio’s head, sunbathing.

(the section below is for dragonriders only)

Dragon: Liosliath
Age: 14
Color: Milk Chocolate Brown (33000)
Appearance: Liosliath is a brown dragon. His hide is a deep dark chocolate color, with a lighter color on his underbelly. The transition of colors from the rest of his body to his underbelly is subtle enough that it isn't recognized easily. There are a few splotches of a blackish-brown on his snout area, almost like freckles. Sometimes when he's a flight, a very slight green tinge from the ichor in his body shows on the thin membrane of his wings. It's not as noticeable as a bronze, however.

The dragon still has the appetite of a weyrling. He may not eat as often, but when he does eat, he eats a lot, and downright refuses to leave his prey until he's done eating. Unless a trundlebug or some other interesting creature worthy enough to be observed comes traipsing by. Surprisingly, he isn't as fat as one would think, and he's in the middle-range for browns. Liosliath's wingspan is a bit larger than normal.

He, mostly because it's S'tel's life, is rather good at fighting Thread. He's pretty agile, but he lacks the speed of his smaller cousins. Liosliath learned to make up for this by becoming calculating, fueled by his constant chats and tendency to just sit and observe things. He can char Thread without using as much effort as someone else does.
Personality: Liosliath is the not-so-quiet observer. He takes in everything he does, sees, smells, hears, etc. and then makes a (usually comical) judgment of it. Often he tells these things to S'tel, making the man laugh. He's very social, but not necessarily active. Most of the things he does are Threadfighting and participating in Risings, but each of them have a significant social factor in it. Lio is helping his rider protect people while Threadfighting... and well, the factor in Rising doesn't need to be explained. He'll often only agree to bring S'tel around to places if the man promises to pay attention to him when they're actually at their destination, but he really only agrees because he loves S'tel dearly and will often put the man before himself.

((Sorry, I've never had an image for him, and I don't think I can find one I like. xD))
