"Maaaa!" Comical tears filled a tiny colt's eyes as he lay, sprawled in the sloppy sand. Gentle waves rolled up against his form, but he made no attempt to move. At least not until his larger mother looked back, a gentle smile on her face. Kailani'ki had been watching over the Usdia--her son--since before he could even remember. Her personality and care had turned him into a Mama's boy in the worst way, even considering his nervous reaction when he had first laid eyes on her.
When her attention was finally on him, his little tail wiggled happily and he struggled to his hooves. It was the first trip to the beach and walking in the wet sand as the waves lapped at his ankles was difficult, definitely something he wasn't used to. Suraj had slipped, simple as that, and has used it as an excuse to get her to look back at him. Nothing had been hurt, not even his baby pride.
Giggling, the sunny colt bolted forward as best as he could with hooves half-sinking. His mother was forced to slow her steps so he could dart between her legs, one of his favorite games. She merely let him have his fun before moving on again. He followed, of course, looking happier than ever.
((Kailani'ki probably won't be in this RP much besides watching over, unless you'd like her to take a bigger role. :3))

[No preference regarding her presence in the RP. :3]
Snuffling along the shoreline went another usida colt, curiously prancing here and there to inspect various things he'd never seen before. How he managed to find his way to the water, he wasn't entirely sure... but then, he wasn't entirely sure of most things, so it didn't bother him in the slightest. He stumbled across a lovely seashell and stuck his nose in it, peering inside. He was met with an unpleasant surprise when the crustacean inside pinched his nose, and the colt squealed with pain and shock. When the creature attached to his face would not relent, he made a wailing sound reminiscent of a goat's bleating as he cried for help.

Ahead of him, his mother's ears twitched forward. Suraj could tell something had changed, something was wrong, as her muscles tensed. So into playing, he had missed the cry from somewhere in the distance. The colt watched with huge eyes as he mother took off at a good pace down the beach without so much as another glance in his direction. Squeaking, he toddled after, tripping and falling and whining once without the same effect as earlier.
It took him quite a while to catch up. Mom had finally slowed to allow it. In front of them now was another foal the same size as him. He hadn't known his size was normal! Bouncing forward despite the cries, he nosed around the other's shoulder, to only then notice the unfriendly hanging crustacean. Bright eyes widened and he let out a snort, stomping one of his little hooves at the shell in confusion.

Dawnwish barely noticed the arrival of the mare and the orange colt. He was busy being confused and afraid, and continued to wail for help. And then all at once the crab was gone, knocked off by the little foal's hoof. He sniffled, glancing down his snout at his nose, which was quite red and bleeding slightly. It still hurt, but considerably less so without something continually pinching it. He couldn't help still frowning about his misfortune but when he turned to the orange fellow who had saved him, the corners of his lips curled upward a little in thanks.

Bright eyes were intent on the injured snout. The little bit of blood had him momentarily transfixed. He hadn't had much experience with the red stuff, but he knew it was bad. A skinned knee had told him so. His gaze narrowed deeply as if he were trying to force the blood back in with just his determination. When that failed, he frowned, eyes shifting up to the other's face, down and around, and settling finally on the tiny smile. He blinked.
"Okay?" If the other was smiling, though it was rather faint, didn't that mean he wasn't dying? Suraj was immediately placated. "Okay, okay?" he asked again, sounding a surprising bit demanding. He wanted to make sure everything was fine, just like his mother did. He flashed her a quick glance to see if she was watching and if she was proud of him for being so responsible.
