I am Nileregwen, or Nil for short. Welcome, and we hope you all have fun.
This is an RPG set in the world of Harry Potter, and it begins... well... like this...
The first three Harry Potter novels have passed; The Sorcerer's Stone, The Chamber of Secrets, and The Prisoner of Azkaban.
This RPG takes place around the adventures of one Harry Potter and his friends Hermionie Granger and Ronald "Ron" Weasley. Harry's made plenty of enemies at Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry, especially the Potions master, Professor Snape, the Slytherin House student, Draco Malfoy (not to mention Draco's overly powerful and influential father, Lucius Malfoy), and certainly Mr. Filtch, the caretaker of the castle.
However, while Harry gets into and out of trouble, all of it dealing with the attempted rise of the Dark Lord Voldemort, Harry has friends in the right places. Professor Dumbledore, the Headmaster of Hogwarts, Professor McGonnagal, the Transfiguration teacher and head of Gryffindor House (of which Harry resides), Hagrid, the groundskeeper and the Professor of Care of Magical Creatures, the now ex-Professor Lupin, who turned out to be a werewolf, but a good one, and the notorious Sirius Black who, in fact, is Harry's godfather.
The time line of this RPG begins where the fourth book begins (if you'd like). Students are getting ready to return to Hogwarts, and their trunks are packed, and books bought.
Now, as Harry and his friends enter their fourth year at school, they are in for the ride of their lives.
As a side note... this DOES NOT have to follow book fashion. Just make sure you're true to your cannon characteres if you have them.
You MUST take the Sorting Quiz if you are playing an Original Character, so, head over to the thread called Sorting for this.
Once you are sorted into your proper house, then you can even take the quiz to become a house Prefect. Remember, there is only one girl and one boy per year, starting at the 5th year until the 7th year, per house, for the prefects. This means we can have two 5th years (boy and girl) two 6th years (boy and girl) and two 7th years (boy and girl) PER House. This is a total of 24 different prefects.
To take this quiz, head over to the thread called Prefect Quiz and you will be tested in your knowledge of Harry Potter (from the first book and film to the fifth).
Now, it's time for the rules!...
THIS IS A LITERATE RPG!
No spamming.
No sexually explicit materials or role playing (you can say you slept with someone, but we don't want details).
No outright character killing (unless it's your character killing and being killed, or it is preapproved by the character who will be dieing).
No Godmoding.
Villains with a good angsty side are always welcome.

Q: Does my Avatar need to wear Wizard Clothes to participate?
A: NO! Your avatar has nothing to do with the RPG.
Q: What's the class schedule for a house other than Gryffindor or a student other than a 4th year?
A: All students (it doesn't matter your house or year) will use the same schedule to avoid confusion.
Q: So, when's the RPG begining?
A: It's already begun. Can't you see the 17-some-odd pages in the announement? That's the RPG. That is where you post as your character.
Q: Does my character have to be me?
A: NO, and neither does your character image. It is up to you what your character looks like.
Q: I'm in a different time zone, how do I interact with everyone else?
A: Your character needs to be on the same time zone as all of ours. I understand your plight at being so far removed form everyone, but this won't help because it reduces your character as a spectator with no interaction with anyone else. The RPG does not function in a REAL LIFE basis. This isn't Animal Crossing after all. Each time you post, read the posts between your last one and your new one, and then respond how you must. You can have flashbacks to cover what you've missed, but make sure you interact in the here and now.
Q: Do I send you my Sorting Quiz answers?
A: No, you post them in the Sorting Quiz thread. After I grade it, I will give you your score in that same thread and then delete your scores.
Q: Do I have to do the Prefect Quiz?
A: No, only if your character is a 5th - 7th year can you even take the quiz and this is ONLY if you want to be a Prefect.
Q: Do I send you my Prefect Quiz answers?
A: YES! DO NOT POST THEM IN THE THREAD! I will grade it and put up your score in the thread.
