Ok... Things are crazy. I've been running around this summer working and going to summer classes. I am wanting and willing to come back here and start RPing again as long as I have some willing participants.
So, if you want to start RPing again let me know and we can work something out. I'm not sure if we can revive the current Firefly RP for it has been ages, and I'm not really sure what is going on with that, but if a sci fi RP is still desired I am totally up for that.
Anyway, let me know and we can work something out. If not, I totally understand. I'v been a bit flaky the last little bit.

I've been working full time since January, and trying to go to school at the same time, and I can't hardly find time to breathe. It has gotten a little better now that my summer classes are over, but I'm trying to move to my new place as well, and well... s**t happens.

Pretty much anything. It's so disappointing looking around the forums for an RP. A majority of them are pretty much the same. I would love a Forgotten Realms based RP... but that's fantasy and most people don't play it online. Or rather, play it well.
I wouldn't mind continuing the Firefly campaign either, it would probably need a major reboot though. Like, J.J. Abrams-epic kind of reboot.

If anything we would just need to start over. We have the world drawn up, and I had come up with some mission ideas that I made sure to write down, so all we would need to do was get our people back, and those we couldn't get back just find some new.

Or a major time jump plus what you just said. I totally agree that there needs to be new mission ideas. Encounters of some kind.
I just hate the idea of erasing everything that happened. sad It seems so... depressing. Maybe I'm just weird. If we just started over, I would probably end up making a new character... Pavan's character just felt so tailored for the current RP. There's a lot that didn't get touched on, mainly because she was so introverted... but it would feel wrong playing her in a different environment.

I had an idea come to me after I logged off last night, though. An idea for an RP that I had wanted to do last month... but completely forgot about it as time went by. xp I blame it on Heroes being on summer hiatus. What about a Heroes based RP? It could be with OC during the course of the current season/season 3, what with Danko trying to find them all and capture them. Or it could be even earlier, during the days of the Company. Bag 'em and Tag 'em; Sylar on the loose (although Sylar's always on the loose...); Catastrophe hanging overhead. Save the Cheerleader, save the world and all that jazz. Plus... who doesn't secretly wish they had superpowers.

I'm going to be honest, I've only actually ever seen the pilot episode of Heroes. Though they are available to play now on Netflix. I might have to check those out.
As for Firefly, we could do a huge time jump, but what if we can't get all our guys back?

So you're saying you've never seen the unadulterated sexiness that is Sylar? eek The show is worth seeing just for him. LOL. But seriously, I'd say Heroes is awesomely epic... but it would be a lie. The first season was good, everything else... not so much. There are some amazing characters... but for the most part the writing is meh and a lot of times the characters undergo drastic changes *Wishes Mohinder would go back to wearing colorful scarves and being adorakable*. It's like watching a fanfiction sometimes. I'm currently watching for my two favorite characters: HRG (aka Noah Bennet) and Sylar (aka Gabriel Grey). And Claire ----> *Not so secret Sylar/Claire shipper*
I think that's part of the reason why a Heroes RP we would be kind of fun... the actual show is so malleable it would be easy to play as OCs. The rules of the world are so general and undefined. *Really only wants to play because she finds the Company so amazingly interesting*
Any type of RP with superpowers would be alright, really, I just figured since Heroes already has a plot and the groundwork set up to explain why people present with unique abilities...

That's the beauty of the giant time jump, people come and go after three-five years (randomly guessing on time frame). A lot could have happened. It would probably be prudent to establish what happened over the time jump. A discussion thread maybe? I dunno... these are just suggestions. I'm just weird and would feel bad at pressing reset on a fairly long RP. So... don't mind me.

I wouldn't mind Heroes-esque thing. In a way it is kind of like 4400 just without alien abductions right?
As for big time jump, that sounds great too. For some reason I didn't think of years as an option. Not really sure why because that would make the most since.

The question is where in the Heroes timeline would people want to play. I have no problem playing while the Company was in place. I have a character, that I developed based on the power I was assigned Facebook Heroes Game, who works for the Company. But I'm also up for playing Third Season time line alternate or a speculative Fourth season time line.
The best part about playing in timeline with the Company (even a rebuilt Company) is that there could be characters integral to the story who don't have powers. HRG is the most BAMF on the show and he has no powers. The Company practices under the idea of "one of us, one of them"
...
I only suggested the time jump cause I think they're kind of cool. Especially seeing how much people change. It would be cool if there could be someway of learning what happened in-between the time jump. Flashbacks or something... but that would require everyone working together and discussing plot twists and stuff to come up with a common back story *Has obviously been watching too much LOST*. That might not be worth the headache though. LOL.

Ok, so tell me about the company. I would be willing to give anything a try if we could get some more people to join in. Though with the subject matter I'm really not worried about that.
As for what happened between the time jump, that wouldn't be to hard. And if we gave it enough time, there could be almost limitless possibilities.
I'm making myself all excited about this all ready. I'll send out some PMs to all our good chums, and then go do some advertising for the guild and the RP, and see if I can get some people interested in joining up for both.
