Now this is one of my favorite vaults. Its the first, basic vault you should get used to and its very useful. Its not as powerful looking as the kong, but its got something to it that makes it a personal favorite of mine. Its simple, easy to do, and allows you to easily keep your speed.
The speed vault is a vault that allows you to move over an object while still retaining most, if not all of your original speed. This is different then most vaults which take a certain amount of energy that leaves you moving slower then your original pace afterwards.

The most important part of this technique is the RUN UP. Long strides are the best for approaching an object with the intention of using a speed vault. Now most people's problem with this vault is a certain amount of doubt they get near the end. They usually slow down, but this isn't necessary and it just gets in the way of the MOMENTUM needed to move over the object.

If its your intention to use your right hand as your balance on the obstacle, it is important to use your right foot to kick off. KICK OFF WITH THE SAME FOOT AS YOUR LEADING HAND, a few feet from the object.

When you reach the object, you will use your hand to balance yourself, and your legs with be horizontal to the obstacle, forming almost a ninety degree angle with your arms and your body. YOUR MOMENTUM SHOULD CARRY YOU OVER THE OBSTACLE.

Be careful to keep your balance on the landing and you should be fine, continuing at a full run without losing any speed. Here are some links to some other tutorials if you need them.
