I'm a member of the Society of Creative Anachronism, further known as S.C.A., last event I went to was the panhandle Skirmish in Okala. Some of these pictures where taken by Corey, and the band out of Donaldsonville. Armored combat is fun, and stress releiving. This is the heavy weapons devision.  Archery is another devision, and them bastards can really become a nuescience. Worst still are midget crossbow women. This is.. I think the first troops regime from Trimarris. See that giant crossbow? That's called a ballista. It requires 3 men to use, and launches spears. Do you know who no one is touching it? That looks awesome, thought you might want to know that last link is dead. But otherwise, it's something I've always wanted to try, I do sport sword, which is similar, but less pointy, and lighter.

I prefer the beauty that is the scottish claymore. 6 foot of heavy steel, crafted into a blunt, deady object. I've been proticepation more often lately, and have gotten most of my aggressions down to raw hatred for society. This is something I can smile down. I feel I'll be.. a nicer lunatic from now on... I know what you mean. Kendo and swordplay really hepls me work out agressions. It's quite healthy.

With rage and addreniline pumping in your ears, it gets brutal. Man, my first kill was a rush. i used a sheildbreaker technique, and then cracked my sword against his helm. Mind you this was when bucket helms where fashionable.. the sound carried beautifully. CLANK!!!

Dude, we had buddy night today at Guard Up, which is basicly two hours of massive combat. I got to be a vampire with double knife style. I've never tried the style before, but it's amazingly awesome and fun. It requires rushing your opponents, because you have no range at all. It was exhilerating.

Florentine style is very enjoyable. But I donno nothing about vampire, I think your thinkin or L.A.A.R.P. What I do can be thought of as the midevil version of those Gettisburg recreation.

Ah! Yeah, it was something of a LARP. It was more, "Here's the rules, now go kill eachother". I was chosen as an NPC, and I played a vampire, which ment certian rules applied to me. I know it's not the same as what you do, but it's a similar thing. By that, do you mean that these are pre-scripted? Cause that would be lame.

no anyone can win or lose.. it's fight to the death.. we don't do planned battles, that was just a close example. It's the white elephant.. Oh battle! Then you find out there's a merchants square, a commons, a feast hall, bardic circle and pagan dance.. humm.. heraldry.. etc.etc.etc..
We're more then just fighting..

ROFL hell I can't afford to go to Pensic but I have friend who will be there../. I'm from Artemisia (my spelling stinks).
I have a hard time affording anything these days... the big smash and bashers eh? eheh they are a riot, I don't do war right now.. I've got to manage my anger first xp
