Starting in December 2004, we feature a member of the Gaia community by having them express their musical taste and letting us have a peek at what sorts of tunes flow in his/her head! Yours truely, DJ Ryn-Ryn, interviewed the one and only Spikeykun for this radio show. 1. How long have you been on Gaia?Since February 22, 'bout four days after gaia started up. Hehe, I got coaxed in by some of my friends, we all formed a very energetic guild called "THE FIST" and ran around chanting in the chatrooms and stuff... We rocked! (er... till the guild broke... ) 2. What are your favorite threads?hmm... I go on a lotta different threads and interest shifts as interesting people and posts catch my eye... at the moment, I usually visit the Night Syndicate, some of my main guilds (Soldiers of Love, Masquerade, Catboy knights, Boxershorts rebellion), and make an appearance in a bunch of threads as I feel like it (and time allows). 3. What are you most known for?umm... ~thinks~ prolly for being a neko with a sense of humor... People seem amused at my antics... ~grins~ yayayayayayayayayayayayayayay!! 4. Single or unavailable?erm, more like unavailable... I'm not much of a believer in online relationships... fake, RPed ones on the other hand can bring some amusement, so feel free to hit on me if you'd like... ~grin~ 5. Favorite bands/music?hmm... there are good songs, there are bad songs... I dun really have a preferred band or genre... if I listen to a song, and I like it, then that's good enough for me... ^_^ I've been listening to a bit of Utada Hikaru though... 8. Favorite breakfast cereal?breakfast? What's that? What's lunch for that matter? (I think college screwed up my eating habits...) 9. INTERVIEWThis is Radio GAIA's second interview. As always, feel free to ask questions! We really luv feedback. Thanks to Angsty Shem, for allowing me, DJ Ryn-Ryn, to interview him. 1. How long have you been on Gaia? Since February 26, the close of Gaia's first week. To be honest, I had no interest in Gaia at all. My roommate, a virtually unknown user named "Bear", was surfing Gaia 24/7 when it first came out. Long story short, the only reason I got on Gaia was to talk a little trash to my roommate! However, after a couple of days' use, I discovered quite a few cool people floating around. My stereotype of Gaia as an "anime-only" site disappeared, and pretty soon I was active all over the place. I love argument, and also came to enjoy guild activity. 2. What are your favorite threads? First, I MUST give props to Arwen for the Gaia Times. It's informative (for both OOC and RP), and heck, it's just fun to read! I'm also all about the "Jaded Old-timer's Guild", where first-week users walk in, act like old crotchitty geezers, and lament about clouds, bad kids, and "new-fangled" guilds. Finally, God knows how much I love Dave "DJ Sancho Jewboi" for creating the "my p***s" guild. Watching people b***h about it (thus getting him banned initially) was the most unlikely thing in the world to begin a guild. Who'd have thought that "my p***s" would become one of the most well-known guilds in Gaia? 3. What are you most known for? Argument, zero tact, and a no-nonsense attitude. I'll call things as I see them, and have no inhibition about taking action or expressing my ideas on a matter. My greatest goal in life -- both on and off Gaia -- is to promote thought and understanding in today's society. I'm notorious for creating threads with ridiculously controversial titles, then allowing people to discuss the matter in hopes of gaining greater understading of today's society. One well-known example was when I created the infamous "WHITES ONLY GUILD" to instigate thought about the double-standard of ethnocentrism. Oh, and I'm never without a cigarette. Bubblegum tries to make me quit, but it's never going to happen. 4. What threads/guilds do you run? I don't technically own any guilds, though I have led the very guild-like "No Clothes Til We Get a Rare/Uncommon" Protest on the Great Barton Cliff of Woe and Angst. I also continue to help SanchoJewBoi manage the "my p***s" guild (I have the delete access for the guild). 5. Single or unavailable? Can't say I'm a very "romantic" sort of guy. I'm straight, and enjoy anyone who can appreciate good conversation and discussion. Either way, don't count on any RL love stories with me. 6. Who are your closest friends on Gaia? My roommate, Bear, hastn't used Gaia in ages. However, through Gaia, I've met quite a few people who are now great friends in real life. Among these awesome people are SanchoJewBoi, Shaoli, Teh Cheat, Osama bin Laden (leave the guy alone), and Mala ("Haradaya"). In-character, I'm known to hang around people like Arwen, Athena, Desna, Siryn, Zombie Tony and Prof. Octavius Otavol Phd. Oh, and I like to shoot Hero in the knees, and auto-kill this really nice guy named Tabris. 7. Anything in particular that really ticks you off? Other than ignorance, not really. There was this clone of me walking around called "HAPPY SHEM" that had REALLY disturbing blue eyes and a smile, but I haven't seen him around for a couple of weeks. There's always Prof. Octavius Otavol Phd and his SCREAMING, AND SCREAMING LOUDLY , but I eventually got used to that. 8. Favorite breakfast cereal? Breakfast? Umm... I remember something called "breakfast" long ago, back before I entered "higher" education... 9. Anything you'd like to add? Thanks to Arwen, who promptly replied to my questions! 1. How long have you been on Gaia? February 20th...a couple of days after Gaia was up. I was suppose to sign up on the 19th...but I gave Gaia some thought. I'm glad I signed up because its fun and not boring. Becuase all the forums I use to be in was slow pace..this is fast pace..my type of place. 2. What are your favorite threads? Well besides mine HAHAHA! But I love to lurk in the RP threads and lurk in the Guild threads...well only Guilds that were created around "my time" if you know what mean. Everything in Gaia is interesting...I honestly can't pick a favorite. 3. What are you most known for? I'm known for being a really pale elf with blue hair. Anyways, Gaia Times and my association with the Gaian Army and the Elven Guild...I'm guessing..or my Gaia Times... OH almost forgot..my scolding of newbies...and fast pace answer in the Question/Feedback thread. 4. Single or unavailable? Single and enjoying it...not the type of person who sticks to a guy and go ga ga over what he does. I'm more into being an independant female...haha..IRL I'm....anyways, that is another story. 5. Didn't expect to be asked this...hahaa...the moment I wake up...and when I sleep. Count my posting ^__^ But I work so sometimes you don't see me in Gaia until 11pm eastern time. 13. In respect to the newspaper: what does it take to run it, and how did you get the idea? To run the newspaper you need to enjoy reading every single post and search for people..do a little bit of investigating and committ to the time. The Gaia Times came to me because I was in a journalism class back in high school and the teacher we taught us journalism said journalism can't be taught! It either comes to you or it doesn't! You can't make a good journalist! So I kept this in my mine and thats what interested me in making Gaia Times. And when I was a newbie I couldn't keep up with things in Gaia so I created the Gaia Times. 14. Anything that makes you angry, Gaian or IRL? Things that make me angry in Gaian life is the increasing amount of useless new topics created by "some" newbies. And the ever so growing guilds with no meaning... IRL the traffic in my hometown is HORRIBLE! 15. Anything else to say? Chase after your dreams! Even if your dreams fail...have a BACKUP DREAM! It started with my Christmas fund actually...the point was to raise red and green items to be passed out to gaians a week or so before christmas to help them feel more Christmas-sy...anyway, at the time I was just wearing random things...I think a long coat and some other black items...and I decided I should have the red/green item look myself if I was going to run my fund...so...I went to the store...and literally just picked out a bunch of red/green items...and wore them. Luckily for me I also found laurels in a pink giftbox, which helped me out.2. What do you think it is about your style that made you stand out from the rest of the crowd? I'm not positive, but I think I was one of the first if not the first person to dress up for Christmas. I've also noticed no avatar spotlights have worn donation items...more or less commons from the store...and that I was.3. Was this look one of your favourite outfits? Actually...no...I personally don't care for it...I'd much rather be wearing my yukata or these new winter clothes...I actually debated for a while whether or not to switch back to my black clothes....but alas, I did not.4. How did your STARS guild come about? STARS came about because I noticed that there were all these other guilds such as the Gaian Police and such. I also noticed the lack or Resident Evil guilds. So I though to myself, "I'm a newbie and I really don't want to join any guilds so I will make my own!" But what to base it on? The word STARS came to mind. And I felt it was just perfect. 2. Who frequents your guild most often? That would be Evilized, Emily Tanadaki, Asuku, Usk, and myself. There are some new people who have been showin up and joining in the fray. 3. Have you taken on any special missions so far? We are currently still on the first one. It started out with an investigation of some murders in a theater, but quickly became a fight for our very lives! We've been lucky so far we have not had too many casulties. Only two that I know of. 4. What do you personally think is the best part about your guild? The very different imaginations. Everyone has their own idea of how the story should progress. Which I think makes it all that much better. 5. Do you know CPR or other life-saving techniques in real life? Yes. I was certified for CPR and First Aid in my ROTC class in school. 6. What are your favourite music genres and artists? My fave genres of music are anything but country and rap. I really enjoy listening to J-Pop and such. Two of my fave artists are Creed and Ayumi Hamasaki. 7. What do you think of the NRA (National Rifle Association)? Well I love guns, so I support the NRA. I'm not a part of them, but I think that they are needed. 8. Did you watch the movie, S.W.A.T.? As a guy, don?t you think that Colin Farrell was damn good looking?! I saw SWAT on the day it came out. I had been lookin foward to that movie since I first saw the preview. Colin Farrell? Hot? I wouldn't know. I've never looked at another guy like that. Maybe if I was female. Now Michelle Rodriguez, that's another story. She is hot. 9. Do you have any hobbies that touch on your soft side? Well I like to watch a lot of love stories. That is my fave genre of movies. I also love roses. I have at least 4 rose bushes in my front yard. I just think that they are so beautiful 10. Do you think that your STARS guild will withstand the test of time and continue on? If it continues to have the quality that it has, of course. I think that STARS has the ability to go on forever till the end of time. 11. What?s your faaaaavourite radio station?! I enjoy playing the bard cause I get to write poetry and cut up song lyrics to suit my needs as I sing songs and tell the tales. It's fun to do this. It also helps to improve my Poetry Skills. 3. Which threads do you hate most and why? I hate the 'Rate my Avatar' Threads that scatter the Chatterbox. It's like so grade two in trying to one up each other on how your avatar looks. Guess what people... IT'S NOT REAL!
Yeah sure I should ignore it but really, why do you need to classify yourself. Come on, when you are in Cyberspace you shouldn't care what you look like, both digital or real. Everybody is the same in Cyberspace. I'm just like you and you are just like me. You shouldn't have to get people around you to classify, testify and declassify who you are. You are you and that's really that all that matters in life actually.
I could say that I am a hypocrit in saying that but you know what... I don't feel the need to have strangers tell me what I look like. If you like me then you like me. If you like the way I look just tell me in private or mention it in passing. I would do the same thing to you. Don't be self Serving and go out to get that attention.
I also hate teen boppers who are posting stupid randomness that involves Sex. Sure you might wonder why I say this. Sex is a good thing. Lots of it is good to, I feel that it is just a subject that you don't want the whole world to know about. Enjoy it in the privacy of you mail box or a pm but not public... That's just as nasty as a rap video. 5. Does your avatar represent you in the real world? Not really. To me it's just a cool doll that I dress up from time to time for others to see. I don't care what they think of me. I could be ugly and I still wouldn't care. My Avatar is just a intreting tech toy that I like playing with. Though I do enjoy the fact that this goes one step beyond the traditional avatars. 6. Are you a writer? If so, what styles do you choose (short story, poetry, etc.)? I am a writer. I write fan fiction, short stories and have an idea for an orignial script that I am toying with at the moment. I have writen mostly every thing from Academic papers that have gotten me a good grade to a hiku.
I attribute my keen writing skills to my father. He once wrote the longest letter in the world to a cousin of his. He was only 18 when he did it. It's actually really cool cause he wrote about his life and stuff that he was doing in the 70's. I think that rocks.
My mother also influenced my talent as well. She taught me the art of planing. Plan, plan, plan. Creation is also a key in the planing stage and my mother always pushed planing. She also gave me a lot of creative feedback on my ideas and some of my work.

The Engrish Spy... well there are two reason behind it. I was formally the Krazy Kool Snowboarding Chick but there were some people bugging me that I didn't want to know I exsited at all. So I was siting at the computer screen one night and I was surffing Engrish.com and watching James Bond in the background. I though wouldn't it be funny if there was a Spy that only spoke Engrish and then I put the two together and volia there was my name. My friends like it so, meh. I usually come up with my own nicknames. I usually get lame nicknames since my real name is Jennifer... J-lo, J-dog etc. My friends know most of them. 8. What items are you saving for right now? I am currently saving for a Winter coat from the Gambino shop but I was thinking that I might buy something else but I don't know what right now.
If I was to post a wish list... I think A pair of elf ears, a winter coat(Gambino... The nice dress ones), and a green head jewel. Though it's not imperative that I get them. 9. Who?s your favourite mod?! Kia(The Mod on the Royal Palace RPG) She's a good story teller. She's got this awsome story going with Selphie with these shapeshifters in the castle. It's good.
I also like Charity Shoppe Mod Mira. She is so sweet and likes to get donations. I like donating to her.
And you Screemer, you play all my fave songs on Radio Gaia. 10. What is your view on how slang is used on the internet? Some stuff I like... yet I'm getting tired of the improper use of |33+ on the net.... find a dictonary and learn it properly.
I also encourage swearing it's health and help vent frustration at all costs. I use it alot to vent my frustration.
Emodcons are ok... I wish gaia had more cool ones.
I may be a horrible speller, but there are things that are better said when they are a little thought out for instance. Just so the listners know the fist email I sent to Screemer was novel size. She wanted something small.

First of all, please tell us a little bit about yourself! I'm a scorpio, was born on November 18 in the year 1982, love anime, reading, writing, posting on forums, chatting, and making friends. I also love drawing, but have yet to post any of my art anywhere lately. I dislike violence, and sex is not really one of my favorite topics. XD I'm 21 in real life, and act as such online (Hopefully), give gold away almost as fast as I get it to people I think are needy, and rarely keep an outfit for longer than a week. 2. What is the history behind your family bar? Well, as I look at all the bars there are on Gaia, I realized that nobody had made a family bar, one where parents could bring their children and not be ridiculed for it. So, I made my bar to be family orientated. There is a nursery for parents to leave their children with an able bodied babysitter, and it's positioned right behind the bar so that I can help the sitter watch the children, and it's added protection should anybody decide to cause trouble there, because the trouble makers would have to get through half the patrons to get to the nursery. 3. Who are some of the people who frequent it? Right now, it's mainly my family members with the occasional pop-up of new blood. And there's the people that work for me as well. Our most recent patron is ssj_Kcin_Enorai, who needed a place to hang out and hide out from someone who has been messing with him in other areas. I offered him a room and the use of our supplies until he felt that he wanted to leave. Amus, one of my daughters, and her daughter, Cherry, are there almost all the time, for which I'm glad. It's good to have your family close to you, after all. 4. Some businesses allow sex and violence (to varying degrees) on the premises, but your bar prohibits any of that. Do you have a response to that? This is a family environment. Would you want to walk into your family or friends' house and hear them talking about sex, or in the act of it? How about if they were in a fight? Not very pleasant, and it chases people away if they come in during those acts, so therefore, it is not allowed. Also, there are the children to think about. What would they be learning in an environment that harbored sex and violence? 5. What?s your favourite part about the bar? That my family and friends are there with me, mainly, and are willing to help me out with it as often as they can. *smiles* 6. What other threads do you like to visit? I visit Degnne's Petshop, which is run by my boyfriend, Moblin, the Emerald Wings Resort, which is run by my brother, JanusXIII, And Erie's Jungle Tavern, which is run by a good friend of mine, Jason Erie. Some others I visit are the C.A.U. Guild (Claim A User Guild), the Thieves Guild, and my own Dragon's Guild. 7. What?s your opinion on how items are priced around Gaia? *sighs* Well, Considering I have a hard enough time saving gold as it is, I think the newest items are overpriced, especially the winter and pimpin' stuff. It would be interesting to see how different weapons would like with my avatar, even if I never use them except to protect my family and the patrons of my bar. 9. I just put together what I thought was nice, and was pleasantly surprised that someone else thought it was nice too. The outfit I'm wearing though, is obviously Christmas inspired. xd 3. I don't want to start this debate again, but I will say this. The winter item update had a lot of high priced stuff, especially on simple items. I don't want everything to be cheap, I just don't want future updates to get too expensive where I'll have to "save" gold everytime I want a shirt, you know? confused 10.
