I know that no one is really on here, but i was thinking about an idea. Since everyone likes to write here (well, you should if you're here) then why don't we all keep something... sort of like a journal. We could write story ideas or updates on upcoming events.... hey we could probably make a thread for posting up stories. (that should be waht the library is for) It don't have to be daily, but we could go in it weekly (mostly at least 3 times a week). Or maybe we could actually use the gaia jornals for this... nah, we just need more posts here. so everyone... come and tell me your opinions on this. blaugh

It's a good idea...but that doesn't mean it will work. I try new things for my guild all the time to try and get people to post more, only some of it works...and for short periods of time. Guilds are hard to take care of... cry

Yeah it might work for a bit if you can generate enough interest, but getting people to keep up a journal, or keep reading someone else's journal, could be hard. Personally, I've never been able to do the journal thing... I tend to lose interest after a few entries and self-censor like crazy. I try to do daily entries for my comic web site and I find even those taxing. Story ideas, maybe... but that's the kind of stuff I usually hide away in notebooks and don't show other people... 90% of it is just brain-muck anyway.

I agree with gammyun. I usually don't show my story ideas, and can't get myself to write in a journal more that max. 2 times a month. But then there are people who write pages in theirs every day, so your idea might work.

It was just an interesting idead anyways, and at least I got people to come and post sweatdrop ... i was thinking of maybe holding a contest or something, but wasn't quite sure about that one.

I still have to ask the person in charge.

First of all, it's always nice to see people with ideas who try to help to keep the guild active. I must admit we pretty much died... sweatdrop Timstut: Quote: We could write story ideas or updates on upcoming events.... hey we could probably make a thread for posting up stories. Story ideas as in sharing plotbunnies? I don't know, I created a club on deviantART with the same idea, but it isn't running very smoothly... People are very reluctant to write about their ideas, fearing they might get stolen. What do you mean with upcoming events?

What do you mean with upcoming events? upcoming.... i meant like i someone was getting ready to write a story or they are updating/finishing one with new stuff... sounds kind of confusing sweatdrop maybe like we can have a list of what we're working on (sort of like the library) and then we say how far we are in it or if we are finishing a new chapter.... something like that.

I don't think it's a terrible idea, but I don't think it'll work for everyone, either. A lot of authors would probably feel forced if they had to update a journal daily, or three days a week, or whatever. For many people, I included, writing and ideas come along invariably, so a time constraint would make it more difficult to produce good writing.
Perhaps just an update page in the story posts?

I usually keep my ideas to myself. =/
Currently, I have so many stories going... Four origional stories, and three fanfictions. I get bored easily, so I have to keep myself entertained with many different stories. I have lots of plotbunnies, and I write those down for a rainy day when the power goes out and I'm bored out of my mind...

I think that what timstut suggested is a good idea... actually I am a bit confused on it all because I have missed so much.
