It is cold and you and I will be the lone pair out there and it will be silly. It was perhaps the thirtieth time that day that the brownweyrling had heard that phrase (or something similar to it) from his dragon. The wind had picked up a little and snow danced in the air. J'oss had sat outside the Weyrling Barracks for most of the two previous days, inviting his fellows to join him on this day sometime after lunch to play around in the wind on dragonback or in the snow, just to have some fun in a group outside of class.

Sesilarth stretched his wings outside, wearing his riding straps as J'oss appeared outside, his blonde hair sticking up at odd angles. He crunched about in the snow, climbing on top of the brown the moment he got close. He was dressed for warmth, but he was happy despite lacking a little movement. This is going to be so incredibly sorrowful. Shush, J'oss stood slowly on the dragon's back, using the male's neck to keep himself balanced.

Sesliarth responded by flapping his wings, blowing loose snow all across the ground as he rose steadily into the air, J'oss plopping onto his back warily as they rose to about tree-level. That was uncalled for. The brown's eyes whirled in a merry green-blue mixture as he reached out to the minds of his clutchmates. There is not anything exciting to do. Me and Mine are at the practice field beside the barracks. Let's play some games or something, if you or Yours want to. The offer was a little awkward, but friendly nonetheless. He didn't like it, didn't like that no one was going to show up, but for His... Thanks, Ses.

Berith, already in his riding gear, shot outside after hearing the invitation, Kira looking startled and holding onto his neck for dear life. Finally! Someone to play with! Mine is too skitish and scared to play with others but I will! Kira blushed at this comment but it was barely noticable, her face already red from the cold. Berith! What are you doing? Lets go back inside! Please? She pleaded with Berith, trying to make him reconsider.

Berith skidded to a quick stop and flapped his wings, quickly rising into the air and causing Kira to hold even tighter to his neck. No! You need to get out more! Play more! You never do anything besides go to class and daydream on my back after lunch, cowering from the rest of them. So you are going to play today!

He slowed and hovered near Sesliarth, Kira hiding her face in Berith's neck. Great, now one more person to make fun of me. Thanks a lot. And I'm gonna here more teases about how I can't control my dragon. Do you have to do things like this? Of course! The purpose of my life is to worry you! And maybe I can pull you out of that shell you are housed up in. You sure he would want to play with us? It is worth trying!

Hey, Mine! Skadith poked Indrasena with her nose. Sesilarth and His have invided us to go freeze our hides off in the snow with them...Berith has convinced His to go.
The young woman looked up from checking over her riding straps and gear, Do you want to go? She tilted her head in the direction that the weyrlings were headed.
Yes!
Ok, Indrasena Stood and streched then quickly put the flying staps on Skadith, Then we go play with the kiddos. She agily mounted and gave Skadith the comand to take off. They flew after the other two weyrlings and hovered near them.

Sesilarth was taken aback by the response received. The brown turned his head downwards, looking for the blue that had responded. It would appear as though this venture may not be a complete failure. J'oss quirked an eyebrow, joining Sesilarth in looking downwards, leaning precariously to the side. The sight of a blue below made him grin. Toldja so. Sesilarth snorted in response, watching as Berith rose to his level. Seeing the girl on the blue's back made J'oss be silent for a moment.

He remembered watching Kira over the last few months, the same way he watched all of the others in their classes, getting to know them as best he could. He was on good terms, or believed he was, with most of his fellows, but she seemed shy, and seemed to act as though she expected them to tease her or hurt her, though J'oss knew better. Anyone who did would undoubtedly get in trouble with the Weyrlingmaster, and he would know. He smiled comfortingly and raised a hand in greeting.

While he was distracted, Sesilarth was still peering below, rumbling in amusement and even joy when Skadith joined her brothers in the sky. Once all three were there, J'oss tapped Sesilarth's neck to get his attention, which was quickly followed by a question to the other two. Mine wishes to know what you and Yours would like to do. He has suggested some of the games that Weyrbrats play, but wants to know if you have any suggestions.

Berith rumbled happily, seeing his sister join them over the treetops. Now three. I wonder if anymore are going to care to join. Oh well. We can have fun with just us. Kira clutched his neck tighter, getting increasingly nervous, but seeing J'oss smile and wave made her feel a little better. Maybe he'll be different. And hopefully Indrasena won't tease me either. Berith was silent for a moment. And I will do whatever you guys want to do. I've never actually played any games before...

Berith relayed her answer to Sesilarth and Skadith. Mine does not have a preference on what we do. I do not have any suggestions either. Just to spook his rider, he closed his wings and dropped a few feet, causing Kira to yelp and latch on even tighter. You know if you hold any tighter you will probably end up staying that way permanently. And how am I supposed to lighten up when you're doing things like that?!? Berith just rumbled in amusement.

Alinna stoked the warm fire in the Weyrling Barracks again, where she and Cetalese were sitting, relaxed and warm on the floor. Daine, Cetalese's Green firelizard, was curled around her neck like a sleeping, heated towel, and Ceta didn't seem to mind. More's the better where she was concerned.

When the offer came to the other dragons, Koriganth was the first to stand, ready to go.

Alinnamine, Sesilarth and his invite us to come play in the snow. I think they are bored, too, and want to find something to do. Koriganth's eyes whirled green. I would love to go.

Alinna smiled, seeing from Ceta's distracted eyes that Levaeth was repeating something similar to her. She set the firepoker aside and leaned back, waiting for the two to be done. When Cetalese came out of it and looked to Alinna, she could see the other Weyrling was already rearing to go and she let out a pitiful little noise.

"You can't really be serious, 'Linna."

"Come on, it'll give us something to do," Alinna said as she stood, stretching her arms above her head.

"But... it's freezing out there!"

Alinna grinned at Ceta's response and went to get their heavy jackets. Alinna had grown up in Nabol Hold, which wasn't much warmer than the Weyr itself, and she had gotten used to the chilly weather. Cetalese, however, hadn't had time to adjust to it quite yet, and Alinna doubted that she ever would.

"Don't be a spoilsport. Nothing worth doing is ever easy." There was a pause as Alinna laid her hands on their outer clothes. "You'll get used to it. Here." She tossed Ceta's jacket at her, and the green-eyed girl put it on with sigh. She liked people and all, but it was so damned cold out; could they do something inside, where there were fires to keep you warm?

"I'm coming, I'm coming."

Levaeth?

I know, mine. Koriganth and I are waiting for you to arrive and put our riding straps on.

Ceta finished buttoning up the jacket. No help for it now. She followed Alinna's long strides to their dragons and the seniors Weyrlings made quick work of preparing their dragons. With the size their partners were growing to, it was just as well that the Senior Weyrlings would have to move out of the Weyrling Barracks soon. There was starting to be no space for all of the dragons that needed to fit in there.

The two riders mounted before they left, so they wouldn't have to do it in the snow, and ducked low to their dragons' backs as the two single filed out of the Weyr, Levaeth actually in the lead as opposed to Koriganth. They took to the air, Levaeth struggling just a little bit more in the thin, cold air than Koriganth, and flew towards their fellow Weyrlings.

We will join too, Koriganth announced with an amused rumble as the quartet drew closer, gliding through the snowy air. He wasn't a big fan of the cold on his hide, but if Alinna could tough it out, so could he. They could be thick-hided together.

L'Von was oiling Sukarth's hide when his young dragon bespoke him excitedly. L'Von, I have been asked if we'd like to go and play with the other weyrlings. They said to bring riding gear. "One minute." L'von answered out loud, "I still have a small patch of you left to oil. You don't want your bronze hide to get all flaky do you?"
He reached up and scratched Sukarth's eyeridge lovingly, and looked at Hero who was perched on his dragon's shoulder while he waited for his lifemate's reply. No, I don't. But hurry up would you, I want to go play.

L'Von chuckled at the impatience that Sukarth was showing, and quickly finished oiling him. He said, Sukarth, tell the others will be down shortly. I need to go get my riding gear. L'von went down to barracks and collected his riding gear and his gloves. He went back to the bowl, where he saw Sukarth impatiently waiting and climbed onto him, The pair of them took off to play with the other dragons and senior weyrlings. When the pair landed, L'von greeted the other Weyrlings. "J'oss, Alinna, Ceta, Indrasenna, Kira"

Alinna and Cetalese both gave a general greeting as they reached the other Weyrlings, but they didn't have a chance to ask what they would be doing as another of their Hatching-mates arrived. Alinna smiled at L'von's long list of greetings and leaned closer to her dragon's back, imagining she could feel the warmth even through her winter clothes as his body protected her from any wind coming from in front of them. Ceta's face was half-obscured by a scarf, but her eyes crinkled in amusement as well.

"Hello, L'von." Alinna waved at him. He was the only Bronze Weyrling from their group, after all. It wasn't too hard to recognize him by his dragon, not like it would be if he were a Brown Weyrling obscured up in winter gear.

"Hello! You certainly have an affinity for remembering names," Cetalese responded, hugging herself as a snowy breeze went by. Her voice was muffled by the thick scarf, but very faint puffs still slid past the fabric as the warmth of her breath hit the air. Levaeth's inner lids were closed already, muting the whirling green facets of his eyes somewhat, snowflakes kissing his dark hide, but his excitement was evident.

Welcome to the games, Sukarth, Levaeth greeted at the same moment Koriganth spoke.

Hello, Sukarth. We don't see you around much anymore. Has your rider been keeping you busy? Koriganth tilted his head at the Bronze. Or maybe it's just Alinnamine and training keeping me occupied that makes it feel that way.

The sight of more Weyrlings coming out of the barracks made J'oss laugh, rubbing Sesilarth's neck lovingly. I told you sooo! He taunted childishly. If the man noticed or cared that he was surrounded by girls when Alinna and Cetalese joined him, it didn't show. Color rose to his pale cheeks as his blood pumped against the ice, and a playful light came into his eyes.

They seemed to have not heard his question, and J'oss was about to pose it to them again when a sixth member interrupted. He had to admit being the slightest bit surprised to see the bronze and 'rider out there with them. Nonetheless, he raised his hand to L'von, watching as Sesilarth dropped slightly in the sky to see them better. "Want to join Kira, Indrasena, I?" He yelled down to the three, motioning for them to come up and join them. Ses, my throat will pay the price if I continue to yell...

I am well aware of the fact that you will be unable to sing and might possibly be miserable tomorrow because of this need to best the elements. I will speak to Sukarth, Koriganth, and Levaeth. Reaching to first these three, he continued. Mine is curious if you and Yours would like to play Weyrbrat games or if you have any better ideas. the statement was short for Sesilarth, but the brown did not enjoy repeating himself.

To all of the five assembled, he elaborated. J'ossmine recalls a game he used to play when he was younger, a game he refers to as 'tag'. The rules are simple - one person is 'it' and must physically touch another player. The 'it' title transfers and the new 'it' must get rid of it by touching another player. We would need to set some boundaries, such as not being allowed to leave the practice field, and also we might want to find a better way of doing it besides having Ours try to lean and touch another dragon. A suggestion was made that the 'riders would maybe make snowballs and throw them at eachother, but J'ossmine says it is only a suggestion. What do you all think? Immediately, J'oss felt Sesilarth draw back, expecting some sort of retaliation and rejection. He leaned more on Sesilarth's back, trying to get him to calm from the feelings of doubt that plague his mind.

Hello Koriganth. Yes, my L’Von has kept me busy. The training has been rigorous. We never seem to have time like today. Sukarth replied to the other dragon.
L’von chuckled when he was told he had an affinity for remembering names. “In all honesty, I cheated with the names. Sukarth, here told me who was here by the dragons.” He replied.
L'von watched J’oss and Sesilarth drop down in the sky, and bespoke his own dragon, We should go over and join them. It will make it easier to find out what we’re doing. L’von and Sukarth moved closer to J’oss and Sesilarth, so J’oss wouldn’t have to strain his voice yelling to everyone. At that moment Sukarth bespoke L’von and said Sesilarth tells me J’oss wants to know if we want to play Weyrbrat games. The one J’oss wants to play is called tag. Sukarth then paused and added with concern You do know what the game is right? I know you didn’t grow up in the weyr. Sesilarth told me how to play it, if you don’t know. .
I remember that game. L’von replied to his dragon, and then said to J’oss, “Tag sounds like a fine game. I used to play it with the other children in my trading band.”
