LOL. Well, once I get verification from my manager where it's going, I'll let people know. From what I know there's a bastion of distributors that sell to Barnes and Noble, K-Mart, etc, as well as online vendors. No guarantees which ones are going to pick it up, but I'd be happy so long as it makes it to one major distributor. Heck, anything to break the 10,000 sale record of my last book. Which is actually quite low. I'd have to sell 100 times that to make the best sellers list, lol. I have so far to go with this. The ball is rolling... so I'm just gonna push it as hard as I can from now on mrgreen

Tricky part is they want me to go on a book signing tour once it's released, which will be kind of tricky to get into my work schedule. Although when I mentioned the idea to my commander, he asks, "So why is it you might need to take some time off?" I reply. "Because I have a book coming out soon and my publisher wants me to go on a signature tour." He says. "You published a book! What are you doing in the military?"
I answer. "Because like writing, I love what I do here, sir."
He says we can probably work something out ^_^

That's funny. I might not have specifically mentioned I was in the military, but all the talk of tanks, C-4 and fully automatic weapons... ZOMG maybe I sounded like a terrorist O,,O!!
No, lol.
Then again, I haven't conversed of such things since like December or so. Since I got back from sand land, things have been pretty chill in that department ^_^

I actually work the admin side of the house, processing lots of paperwork, and wouldn't you know it - doing lots of writing. I write mostly awards and citations for unit and personnel activities. I don't really do anything special. sweatdrop
I've done some fun things in Iraq though. I've also done some not so fun things.
I was QRF (Quick Reaction Force) For FOB (Forward Operating Base)Thunder and FOB Gabe. Pretty much whenever shizz hit the fan it my job, it was the job of my squad to be the first on the scene. Now at times that would have meant shooting at people, but by my very nature I'm a political person and always tried talking things out. I think the Iraqis appreciate that.
I mean think about it. If there was another force occupying your country and you had a run in with their soldiers, would you be more willing to cooperate if they tried talking with you and getting to know you, or would you get along better if they were yelling at you and shooting things around you? I think the answer is obvious, but not everyone agrees. We had some people who liked to shoot first and ask questions later.
But you really can't blame some people. My friend Dockery, he had his friend, and a close friend of mine at the time get blown away right in front of him. I wasn't there. But when Dockery came back from the mission with our friends blood all over him, he looked absolutely horrified. He was crying all day that day... but we never saw him cry again.
Everytime he went out after that... if there was ever a threat, no matter how slight... he was shooting first, asking questions later.
The only bad thing I ever witnessed was watching about 3 dozen people get toasted by a chain of explosions. It was definitely an ill experience, but I didn't know any of those people, so it wasn't near as bad as it would be if I had. Definitely a lot more eye opening that anything I've seen hollywood dish out.
